    Love Tania!!
Tania is a great host ! Understands pop culture in a way that makes FA more relevant! I always tune into her interviews!

I can barely listen to the show anymore. 90% of the shows center around pop culture, about which I am indifferent at best. The show is just not as smart as it used to be.

    This show only gets better
I have been enjoying FRESH AIR, for what it seems like forever but the new additional hosts add depth and different perspectives. Great job!!

    The Dessert Diet
Fresh Air was one of the “go-to” podcasts for cutting edge interviews relevant to our democracy’s survival, health, climate issues, consumer protection, etc. Though Fresh Air always had a balance of pop culture interviews, now it’s a steady diet of dessert without the main entree.

Your recent Navy interview was incredibly offensive to fat people. We don’t use the terms “out of control” or “ballooned” when referring to a human body and you should have called out the person you were interviewing when they said it.

    What a Great Cohost!
I’ve always revered the time when I get to listen to Terri Gross and Fresh Air. I can’t imagine the amount of prep time required for an interview. And I think you chose wisely with Tonya Mosley as cohost. Articulate and well prepared, I enjoy just listening to her voice. That must have been a long search for cohost, but it paid off. Thank you for all the work you do.

Fresh Air interviews are always well- researched and engaging! I just listened to the Maggie Rogers interview. I am a fan and still learned so much more about her. Thank you for making me feel like part of the conversation.

    Great Interviews
Wow, Tonya hits it out of the park with Michael McDonald. Such a fascinating, thoughtful interview - I didn't want it to end. Thank you Fresh Air for bringing us great entertainment and information "on demand."

    Simply The Best!!
I have long been a listener to Fresh Air. My son grew up on it and Terry Gross’ remarkable interviews. I have enjoyed getting to know Tonya Mosley and throughly enjoyed this latest episode with Michael McDonald!! It was superb!! Thanks for the great interview and the groove it brought!

    Ads are rude
I have listened to Fresh Air so many years on the radio and now as a podcast. I love the interviews with creative people the most. I’m just SO annoyed by the ads recently! I listen to a lot of podcasts. I can’t afford to pay for all of them, so I’m happy to listen to ads. What I absolutely can’t stand right now is that someone has decided to place them in the middle of a sentence like some kind of cliffhanger. Do you think that by annoying me that I will decide to cave and start paying? More likely unsubscribe.

    So Good
The Carvell Eallace interview was so raw and so compelling. Really good interview. I will definitely read his memoir.

    Love this podcast
Thanks for adding Tonya Moseley. She asks pointed questions and adds such a wonderful perspective to this podcast. Loved the interview with Tyler James Williams.

    Best Interviewer on Planet Earth
How does Terri Gross know so much about so much? No matter the topic, her questions take the conversation to the next level.

    Tedious new host
Please label the episodes with the name of the interviewer for that episode, so that listeners can avoid those with the wooden, fake-sounding, and uninteresting new host & seek out those with Dave Davies & Terry Gross.

    Unsubscribing for two reasons
The same as another listener- Ads are Ads- I’m tired of the Fresh Air Interruptions AND the idea that you THOUGHT you could push them on us bc they are “WITHIN the context of Fresh Air” - insulting . The second reason is I find very few relevant and interesting topics any more. Its a shame, you used to be my go to favorite podcast. The guests AND topics- dull.

    Topics
How can it be that Fresh Air seems to find no limit to stories on celebrity and the Trump Presidency, but has virtually nothing to say about the explosion of anti-Semitism? I get that NPR is very left leaning and that covering largely left-wing anti-Semitism may not fit into NPR’s world view, but the silence is absolutely deafening.
  • KC989
Can you label Terry’s interviews clearly?
I only like to listen to episodes hosted by Terry Gross (or Dave Davies at one time). She does an amazing job and is so fun to listen to and learn from. If the podcasts were clearly labeled in the title as “with Terry Gross” this would help. Or maybe Tonya should be on a different podcast. tonya mosely is not a good interviewer for fresh air. She does not get to any personal connection or insight about the person, as Terry does. Sounds more like a professor or some kind of symposium leader, and it is really boring to listen to.

    Racism from our Ruling Elites
2/29/24 Hour long Bradley Onishi interview claims Trump voters are literally “Preparing for War.” - A common theme on NPR nowadays is to claim “white Christian nationalists” will violently overthrow the government during the next election for Trump. This is the definition of RACISM. It is racism in its highest form to lump your political enemies along racial and religious lines and declare war on them. By claiming that THEY will commit violence, NPR is implying that one better “get them before they get us.” NPR is funded by the government, but mostly by the world’s richest elites via their “foundations” and NPR’s CEO’s appear to be from the western world’s intel community. Why do the world’s elites and our western governments continually propagate this message? Why do they wish to disunite with this dangerous language? Historically, when has dividing a country by race and religion ever worked out for the better? 4/22/24 Another book interview and the message is: white, male, Christian Trump voters are dangerous to America’s future. There are no journalists at NPR. This is racism in its rawest form. And they are no longer hiding it.

    Love Tonya
It’s hard to adjust to new voices when we are all so used to Terry, but Tonya does a great job. I love that she gets real answers and helps the guests open up in her own way. A great new addition.

    Cancelled Subscription
I subscribed To Fresh Air so that I didn’t have to wait to listen to current episodes and not have listen to ads. But now ads for other NPR shows are breaking into Fresh Air’s podcast. So I unsubscribed. Ads are ads, and I’m not going to pay to have to listen to them.

    New Host
Maybe I Am just used to Terri and Dave, but the new host Tanya is mediocre at best for me. Her questions aren’t as well thought out as the others. Hopefully in time she gets better.

Tonya is a star and these reviews are sad
Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I find it hard to believe that these reviews about Tonya come from real listeners. She is amazing! Smart, warm, captivating and curious. I also have the fortune of being familiar with her other work, and honestly there is no one comparable to her depth and expansiveness of talent. It’s unfair to compare her to Terry at this stage. Terry has a 50 year head start! Tonya just started hosting. If she is this good at this stage I can only imagine the heights she will take this show. I will say there is no one like Terry, and so perhaps for Tonya’s sake and talent, filling Terry’s shoes is not a fit. She should be standing in her own.

    Reconsider
It is with a very heavy heart that I write this. Tonya Mosley is a wonderful broadcaster who has her place in the NPR ecosystem. But she is not an alternate host to Terry Gross by a long shot. I find myself repeatedly tuning out of her interviews . There’s a gullible disposition to embrace interviewees like the ridiculously childish Amanda Montel. She does not probe the interviewees like Terry. Fresh Air is indistinguishable from Terry Gross. Dave Davies filled in for her beautifully. Tonya is working for a different show. I understand founding hosts need to find a voice to fill their eventual absence and retirement. Unfortunately Tonya Mosley is not that person. The one thing Fresh Air is is not is earnest. That gave us, for decades, the reassurance we were not settling for anything.

Excellent interviews, though many people appear to miss the point
You are not meant to agree with every interview subject that appears on Fresh Air. The 1 star reviews are selfish, ignorant folks not deserving of the wonderful work Terry and crew do on this program, and that's coming from someone who disagrees with many guests, sometimes multiple a week!

    Terry Gross
Have always loved Terry Gross’ interviews. Can’t do without her. Always prepared and her soothing voice is incomparable. Wish she were my BFF. What a gem!
  • UPenn years with Terry
Terry Gross from UPenn early 1980s
Just want to say I knew Terry Gross when she had a head of wild red hair, and we brought sack lunches to talk with her at noon times on Penn campus. She was so nervous 😄 and look at the track record since. Sooo proud of her, now producing 😊 Thank you for all the years of prepping, reading, researching that are your life work. What makes propaganda successful? Episode
“What makes propaganda successful?” Episode. Almost fell off my chair when I saw the title. Let’s see NPR, you should know more than anyone else about creating and using propaganda.

I’ve been listening to Fresh Air for over 20 years. It’s one of my favorite Npr programs. Terry Gross is one of the best interviews I’ve ever heard. Tia Mosley is a wonderful addition to the program, I like her very much. Can’t imagine my life without fresh air I’m so grateful Linda Wellens

    Always Excellent
Even if topic does not sound interesting, Terri Gross always finds a way to get thought provoking, engaging responses from those she interviews. If it is a topic I am familiar with, she still improves my knowledge. Just great.

    What happened to this show?
Tonya Mosley was a pure DEI hire, she is a horrible interviewer, and on top of that it is just turned into celebrity interviews. This once great show turned into Entertainment Tonight!!!

    Terri Gross
When I was a kid I imagined Terri was hot. Then I saw her picture! Omg. Truly a face for radio. Thanks, God. 🙄
