icepreyasSubscriber editionI use the subscriber edition. Over the last few weeks the episode lengths of Surveillance are also getting shorter. Just like the Bloomberg Intelligence podcast. Great content and coverage with insightful commentary but feeling shafted by the shorter episodes. Inflation in full effect

BobcatgutAudio is difficult to listen toThe audio mix is very bad. The dialogue is quite low, so you to turn your volume up, and then the commercial break comes on VERY LOUD. Their producer/engineer needs to normalize the volume between segments.

badger actuaryInteresting Democrat PropagandaNo attempt at being even handed, but it’s still interesting and often has good discussions. Sometimes the analysis is so outrageously biased that they barely even talk about the actual news. They just mention it, and then start ranting about the perceived politics of the individuals involved

Mike from Silicon ValleySurveillance 10/18Too many times, should be zero, brieng politics in to podcast.
-
Daryl ThomeExtremely biased on political discussionThe political bias and attacks on certain leaders in this podcast is extreme. No wonder the American public has little faith in their media. Get back to the basics of reporting on finance and economics without the your personal opinions and those of your general partner Michael Bloomberg. I just want unbiased reporting, how hard can that be? Will unsubscribe until after the elections.

Pomegranate EightPoor AudioBloomberg Surveillance TV has very poor audio. It is difficult to hear. This can be fixed.

August ConsumerGreat team, great podcast, great interviews!A man who can fill the air among the best of them is now making money from it. Marked deterioration, switch to Macro & Foreign affairs, and monetization of podcast. I guess they believe they can answer those big issues that experts disagree on. Maybe they switched to high-brow talk radio format Update 2023 I switched to listening to The Tape, Surveillance, this podcast show has gotten too macro. More for policy matters, the State Department (interviews with Admirals), and other issues above my interest. I look forward to this podcast, and I feel it is the best free American podcast that I listen to on my IPhone. I do not find it as partisan as some have criticized; nothing like Fox or NPR bias. In my opinion, the voices are fine, no vocal fry, like some WSJ commentators. However, opinions must differ in life. Thanks, to all of the staff and guests for the interesting interviews. Getting more stratospheric. Seems airy. Lost this listener. Update—It appears that the highly paid & highly educated staff has become too inebriated with success that they grounded the ship.

Spanky spongediverLisa & Jon are fantasticTom is boring…like an old Holiday Inn lounge comedian, way past his prime time.
-
gospuraNew format is confusingThe old 1 episode format worked for me but now I do t listen. 3 episodes per day is confusing and not good for consumption. The old format is better because i knew what i would get. I have no idea what each of these current episodes are, and am not sure what i’ll get, so I switched finance podcasts.

i002101Single best idea = excuse to overspray adsThe original Bloomberg podcast was perfect but then executives were like “Hey Tom, here’s an easy money maker for Bloomberg, start this podcast with 2 or 3 ads, ramble on for 5 mins, cut the interview in the middle to sneak in another ad or two and then tack on another 3 ads at the end. Literally have to fast forward through 2/3 of the show to hear a “single best idea” when the content is just the same as the regular podcast but at least getting 20 mins of content.

Mandofresco13left leaning financial podcast and adsI wish they either stuck to finance or critiqued both sides of the political isle fairly. I’m resigned from listening as much as I’d like when I hear the clear bias toward the left. Also, the ads are god awful, so do yourself a favor and keep that 1.5x on and utilize the skip button. I give 3 stars because the financial reporting is obviously valuable. I don’t care if there is political reporting, I sort of expect it, especially in geo-political topics. But be mindful that not everyone wants to hear political pundits from one side all the time.
-
JDL from TampaToo many adsGreat content and Tom Keane is a unique voice in finance and investing. But the ads are tough to wade through. The new spinoff show, “Single Best Idea,” is about 90 seconds of content sandwiched by 7+ minutes of ads.

trillionshelperYENTASPlease can the hosts drop all the sports and car talk?? Let them get a show on Sirius if they want to guys gossiping and chattering like housewives. If you want just insightful financial news that is serious and informative. This ain’t the show for you. If you like jock talk it is.
-
CardiffjenNot the same podcastMissing Lisa and Jon. Bring them back!
-
kkauf67Ruined the formatThis was a good show when they stuck to finance and the markets. Now they change the format where we lose the good hosts (Jon and Lisa) and get Tom’s blathering. And Lisa Mateo reading headlines out of the WSJ—really? The new “mini pod” format just means more commercials. Can I have my old Surveillance back?
-
DFinAlexWhy multiple daily surveillance nowBloomberg- what are you doing? I got 4 mini surveillance yesterday, 3 shows today. How about 1 normal show a day so I’m not fumbling around trying to catch all the mini shows. Also, where is Jonathan and Lisa? Why do I have to listen to just TK droning on about guest’s undergraduate degrees from 20 yrs ago. Bring back the old format.
-
djsjrtksjsjrSabotage? What happened to Jonathan and Lisa? Is this a new format? Bloomberg clearly doesn’t want us to listen to this podcast anymore. Serving up blowhard Keene and marionette Sweeney leaves this former must have show now unlistenable.

OcgeezerShow’s not the sameI’ve been listening to this show for YEARS and the recent change has made the show much worse. Previously, they would simulcast on both TV and radio for most of the show. This worked in a couple of ways. The team with Jon Ferro, Lisa Abramowicz was second to none. With TK’s encyclopedic knowledge and wit, Ferro’s insightful and often times, tough, questions and Bramo’s overall skill as a host made this the dream team. Nothing against Paul Sweeney, but the simulcast team was the best. Now that there’s no longer a simulcast, and the trio has been separated, the banter is gone and feel of the show is not the same. Also, the quality of the guests have declined. I would only assume the better guests are reserved for the TV portion. Bloomberg, you have made a terrible mistake. The new TV set looks nice. But it’s just not same without this trio. Bring back the simulcast. More importantly, bring back the dream team.

Sunshine on my shoulders...Jon Ferro vs BidenI’ve been listening to this show for a bit now. Jon Ferro’s reporting/style hadn’t struck me as particularly harsh before. But when he interviewed acting Labor Secretary Julie Su on 12/8/23, he went *after* her about why some glitch led to BLS stats having been delayed that day on the BLS website. Jesus, that was uncomfortable. And now I read other reviews noting he’s been similarly harsh to Biden Administration folks in general. What gives? I come to this podcast for market/economic news, not to feel awkward even as a listener over his personal inquisition of someone who’s there to talk about substance, not to be the punching-bag proxy for the IT guy. Please reign in your personal beef with this or any other (even GOP) administration!
-
ramjam2011Good condensed collectionOverall the podcast provides a good condensed set of interviews on the day’s market and economic trends. Tom Keene is a good interviewer, but his frequent throat clearing, coughing, and sniffling are distracting. It’s not a one time cold. This happens all the time! Get rid of the annoying PGIM ads please. Also, why do you give so much unnecessary coverage of sports like Formula 1??
-
opportunityisnowhereRegular ListenerI enjoy this podcast and listen regularly, 3-4 times a week. Overall, it’s very good. The theme music they play between segments is too loud and very annoying, since I typically listen with earbuds. The only other complaint is Tom’s fawning over Rep. French Hill who they let spew highly partisan anti-Biden rhetoric. If wanted that I’d turn on Fox. To their credit, Jon and Lisa are real journalists and will push back and ask the tough questions, but the show would be better if they (1) ditched the partisans, or (2) gave equal airtime to a Democrat for a counter opinion.

PhxchnAudio QualityWhy does the audio feel like it is recorded in the outdoors with some kind of wind noise in the background?
-
WestxWestOk but not greatIt’s suppose to be a worldwide podcast but it is geared toward New York City- weather, traffic, sports - which means nothing to me. 90 percent of the news by Micheal Barr has an anti -Trump story. One podcaster sounds like Kamala Harris in which she talks for 5 minutes and says nothing. Another podcaster throws around statistical terms like R squared, standard deviations, etc with no relevance to anything. The only highlights are John Farro. The guests they have on are good. But I always apply the money ball rule, if they are good investors, why are they still working.
-
SneakyGabDon’t listen to the dummies complaint about sports talkThis show is great, love the balance that struck with finance, economics, and current events. True news. I don’t know s** about baseball but I love the sports banter, humanizes the guest rather than just some suit. Go pats go ducks.
-
Dr Rico3great guestsgood show and i listen to each day. hosts have a tough job to stay fresh and engaging. repetitive commercials puts a damper on the podcast experience.
-
glortOne of the top financial news podsLow rating is due to the stupid number of ads the show has now. Though if the ads cut into the dead space filled with tedious sports banter, I’ll take more ads. Tom K, you know we can fast forward through them right? Traditionally Bloomberg pods launch softballs to guests. But John Ferro has changed that and almost grills some of the political guests. But the political guest are mostly a waste of time anyway. Tom Keene is one of the greatest financial podcasters ever. 15 years ago he did “On the economy” and he continues with the technical questions in this show. Kudos to Bloomberg for pioneering financial pods.
-
BCMusicLoverGreat Overall Economic and Financial PodcastFrom my opinion this is the best podcast for financial matters
-
10baht-tomJon Ferro is asking the right questionsNot so like the liberal tilt that TK has. From Marty W. to those accusing the oil companies of misdeeds. Please continue to get Yes or No answers to questions. Don’t let them not answer and just read from their bullet points. Thanks Jon. Oh! And thanks for not trying to make people think you are the smartest guy in the room.

Highrain2Jon Faro biased after father’s deathI generally like the show and listen everyday. But recently it’s become more and more apparent that Jon Faro has a chip on his shoulder against the Biden Administration. Last year unfortunately his father passed away and he wasn’t able to travel home to the UK due to COVID restrictions. I do feel for him on that. But after that, whenever a Biden administration member comes on the show, he goes after them aggressively, puts words in their mouths, alludes that they are being disingenuous. Compare his grilling with anyone else he interviews and the differences are huge. Last week Labor Secretary Walsh was on and he took issue with him traveling home to see his family on the weekends. Really? And that has nothing to do with Bloomberg news. He’s injecting his own opinion and bias instead of asking fair questions and it’s unprofessional.

AnotherAndrewGreat Daily PodcastI try to listen to this podcast daily. I wish the hosts would interrupt the guests less often or encourage them to go deeper on some of their points.
-
Jedermann 55ruined by adsThe advertisements have ruined this podcast. Otherwise the content is good.
-
AL2NZGrow Up, FerroAs an investor I need to remove personal perspective and emotion from my response to public policy just as a farmer must dismiss his frustrations with the weather. Jon Ferro is very distracting with his incessant point-scoring against Biden admin officials. I can get that anywhere. Keene and Abramowitz are able to remain agnostic politically.

Artie E.Great guestsI find Bloomberg surveillance to be very useful, because many of their guests have insightful comments about the markets. However, the childish bickering among the hosts sometimes gets annoying.
-
Mohan SrinivasanTom Jon and Lisa are the best in the business…This is one podcast that I do not miss. Fantastic, smart, funny hosts and great guests. Love the banter ! Put this on your “must listen everyday” list.

QdobagrillLow production valueLow production value. You can constantly hear keyboards typing or incredibly annoying static. Please fire your production team.

Pickle864How many ads for a dinosaur suv do I need to hear in 25 minutes)The answer seems to be 4 60 second ads per podcast.
-
CaliNate101Didn’t know it was a pro war propaganda podcastI could stomach through the Australian jokes about “hand” football knowing his audience doesn’t have a clue there’s Australian Football League because I liked the experts. Once the podcast revealed itself as a pro war podcast, I couldn’t stomach it anymore. There’s much better Financial podcasts out there. No thanks Bloomberg.

Not a fan of vitriolJonathanI appreciate you missed an important funeral but that does not justify being rude to the Secretary of Transportation. I usually fast forward when you are the questioner but I wanted hear Secretary.
-
GengengengenePleaser Lower the VolumeThe hallmark of an editing pro is the ability to tweak volume of different audio clips to relatively the same level so when one audio clip ends, the following audio clip does not blast the listener’s ears. The trumpet interlude between interviews is too loud in comparison to the volume of the interview clips. Please lower the volume of the its volume

-
house_partyNot What it Once WasFarro remains the lone bright spot here as Tom Keane continues to veer toward personal political opinion and comedic interruption while Abramowicz too often facilitates.
-
AlexanderGr21Ahem?Lisa and Jon are very smart and engaging. Question is do we need to keep listening to Tom Keene constantly clearing his throat? Or brown nosing every guest as the most important and insightful? That is just painful. Time for change. At least mute the mike when not speaking.
