I thought I was the only one who thought this deeply about things like plot, script, and character development and in video game, nice to know others think similar thoughts. It’s nice to have an actual intellectual discussion about video games unlike other gaming podcasts. Keep up the good work!

Love listening to stuff about the game. But the episode where the girl rambles on and on and on about racial and gender equality was sooo dumb. As if we don’t get enough political correctness in every other avenue of our lives. I’m here for video games not lectures

Seriously, it’s just a video game.

Sorry for the title but I’m tired of hearing all the PC BS of people hitting Feminist in a video game and how that WRONG!!! Or how people (who happen to be white but hired actual native Americans to voice native Americans in there game) shouldn’t be trying to tell a great FICTIONAL story just base off the color of there skin, other wise that just WRONG!!! I just want to here how great this game is, did America screw the native people royalty... holy crap yes, but this is a game. Ref Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best games I’ve played in years and to have Mr. Jared host a podcast about this game has been awesome, sure some of his guests have been annoying, but how Mr. Jared is able to shut them up with facts, understanding, and over whelming kindness that is what makes this podcast 5 stars.

This last episode really killed it for me. All the “white male, America is evil” talk just really turns me off. I’m proud of our country. It’s funny to me how the “straight white male” is labeled the most evil creature of all time, yet it was also “the straight white republican male” who freed the slaves. Yeah my people have done some bad stuff in the past. We have also done a lot of really good things for this world. History is history. Don’t try to change it, learn from it.

Super cringy hearing certain guests bash rockstar for not lecturing the player about how evil America is and all that far left ideology. Just let us enjoy the game

I have never listen to these guys podcast before but found myself interested and what people thought about red dead redemption two. The content that they speak about on the show was great however the volume is extremely low and I find myself having a hard time hearing what everyone is saying. It’s mostly the host of the show that I cannot hear. I primarily listen to podcasts while I drive and my car volume is maxed out and can still barely hear him. It’s a great show but I feel the host is to soft spoken.

I agree with the other 1-star reviewer. The politics ruined it for me. There are possibly hundreds of politics podcast I can choose from if that is what I want to listen too. I come here for RDR2 discussion, not to be preached by liberals on things I probably will never agree on. The lady guest praised the game for having a diverse gang at the camp. Who cares? The camp interactions are super good because they are well written and acted, not because they feature diverse characters. With writing this good, I would have been blown away with a cast of characters that was 100% native American, or 100% black, or 100% aliens. Who cares what the racial make-up of the group was? Why is that important? Are developers not allowed to create this game from a Cherokee perspective because the cast would have to be 100% Cherokee and thereby not diverse? Likewise if someone wants to create a game where it is just about white cowboys, what would have been wrong with that? The female cowboy is important the hosts tell us. Well maybe; but it’s because she’s well written not because she is female. What a crazy world it has become where liberals need to bring race and gender into every discussion. Please stop, you are ruining everything and sucking the fun out of life. Believe it or not, some people don’t give a crap about skin color and gender. Heck I’m a Hispanic myself and the fact that there is one Hispanic character in the gang has no bearing whatsoever on my enjoyment of the game. There could be zero Hispanics and it’s all the same to me. You know why? Because I don’t think in terms of race or gender. I had not even noticed that the gang was diverse until the liberals on this podcast pointed it out. I turned off the podcast, unsubscribed, and wrote this review when the guest of the podcast criticized a point in the story where the white protagonist compares himself to a native American chief. That was too much for that guest, and hearing her complain about that was too much for me. If I ever want to be lectured or hear silly virtue signaling, I have Rachel Maddow, the Hollywood elitists, or CNN. Good luck with the podcast. Hope you have fun preaching to your choir while alienating a large chunk of your potential subscribers. It was a fairly good podcast while it lasted for me. Also, looking at everything in life through a racial/gender lens does not make you sophisticated; only an indoctrinated tool.

I’ve never really been into western movies but I loved red dead 1 and not RD2 I just looooove so much. I have been listening to podcast just to hear their great experiences playing and came across this one and it’s just what I needed.

I’ve been a big fan of Jared for a while, and have been fortunate enough to follow him from his days at IGN, to KF and now at his own home on Hop Blip Jump/Red Dead Radio. If you care about this game series and the news leading up to the sequel, it’s a must listen, if you are a fan of people who unabashedly love the things they care about, you’re in for a treat.

Jarred has such a unique take on everything he talks about & in a special charm that is often lost in that industry. If you are a “gamers gamer” give it a listen & enjoy the ride.

Insightful discussions and amazing opinions on the western genre, peppered with interviews of genuinely interesting people make this one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to.

It’s a great source updates for RDR2. I’m fairly bothered by the lack of knowledge of American history. Primarily because you guys and your guests are so confident in your non-facts. I noticed small issues in fact here and there that I was able to forgive but it was the Deadwood discussion that sent me over the edge. First of all, you brought a guest on as an expert on the show “Deadwood” but she obviously doesn’t realize that the show was based on real American history. Fact corrections: 1 - Deadwood was not in Canada, it was in the South Dakota Territory of the US. 2 - Your guest said she couldn’t remember the name of the town... um that would be, Deadwood. There were more but I’m not listening again to recall them. Keep the updates coming. Just try to sure up your US West history facts.

This a great way to relive one of the best games to ever be made. Jared has some great chops for podcasting and conversation, it’s like second nature. Now if we could get something like this going for Mass Effect I could die a happy person.

If you are a fan of Red Dead Redemption, you really should listen to this podcast. It’s just good fun. It has quickly gone to the top of my list and in my regular rotation as one of my favorite podcasts.

Jared has amazing insight into games, themes, people, life and so much more. He is a wonderful story teller and is so talented. He manages to take a podcast about 1 game and makes it entertaining and mixes it up with great segments about the game but also random other things. I can’t wait to hear what else he comes out with. This is a must listen.

Absolutely love the content, especially the format with separate segments. I think this adds a loose outline that keeps the episodes from straying too far off the beaten path. Altogether, you’ve struck a great balance. I would like to see a little more consistency with the audio quality (the Skype episode was tough to listen to). Other than that, great work thus far. I’m looking forward to both the game, and more quality conversations/episodes!

Loving this show! Jared Petty is an excellent host and always finds away to get interesting responses from his “wild wild guests” that lead to some very fun and entertaining tangents. If you’re a fan of Red Dead Redemption, or video games, or the Western genre in general, this is a must listen! Replaying Red Dead along with Jared or rewatching classics like Tombstone for in-depth discussion makes the conversations engaging and gives me a reason to look forward to the next episode.

Jared Petty somehow managed to get me to listen to an entire podcast on Fallout 4 on IGN. A game I found to be disappointing overall. Jared however is endlessly entertaining and engaging. He connects the dots between art mediums where others just mosey on by. I happen to love Red Dead, but give this podcast a try even if you don’t. You’ll walk away with a fresh perspective, and perhaps appreciation for something you didn’t know interested you.

Nothing special here. Segments aren’t that great. The video version is even worse. Save yourself some time!

Jared is in prime form and the guests are fantastic. It’s a perfect forum to get hyped about RDR2 and wax nostalgic for the original RDR (I mean the Rockstar one, of course).
