    Best Islanders Pod
Dan and Mike perfectly encapsulate what it feels like to be an Isles fan. Totally sensible and irrational at the same time. I catch myself laughing out loud at least once per episode. Jon Sim would be proud

    Awesome
Love this pod. These guys are both wholly rational and irrational simultaneously. They are the perfect voice of isles fans in that regard! Look forward to all their stuff. I feel like I’ve know them for years. Great guys, funny, don’t take themselves too seriously and have good insight. Definitely worth listening to. Keep up the great work Gents.

#1 isles podcast, pure therapy & humor
Hands down, this is the best top shelf liquor of the many Islanders podcasts. I say this with love, hosts Dan & Mike are the biggest geeks in the game, and it’s truly a labor of love for them as this is not their “real” jobs. I have a HS radio background and have a pod cast mic, would be an absolute blast to jump on with these guys someday. No other platform understands the nuances of islanders fandom better, though it’s funny listening to these guys when things go well over a sustained period of time as they don’t know what to do with themselves. Lord willing, we will all get more practice with that in the years to come with this team. Best hockey podcast period, with Puck Soup coming in 2nd (especially when Greg W was still on it).

I’m not even an islanders fan
I am a penguins fan, but I tend to listen to podcasts about our upcoming opponents. Originally, I expected to only listen to pens adjacent episodes but Mike and Dan sucked me in and I’ve listened to all of their episodes over the last 2 years. I even (sort of) want the islanders to do well, for their sake.

    Thanks!
When I moved from Pennsylvania to Brooklyn in 2012, I wanted to adopt one NY sports team. I am a big hockey fan who always hated the Rangers, so the decision was pretty easy. Being in my mid-50s, I also had great memories of the dynasty Islanders. My decision—while met with great disdain from many of my Pa. pals—felt like fate when the Isles moved to Barclays pretty soon after. I had a team I could root for 15 minutes from home and paid pennies on the dollar for live pucks. What could go wrong? I know traditional Long Island-based fans understandably hate this period but it’s when I really fell for the team. I enjoyed incredible playoff moments and started to feel like part of the Isles extended community. That said, I am glad they are in UBS. It’s only right, and it’s a tremendous arena. Another huge part of what made my transition so much fun has been this podcast. Mike and Dan do such a unique job in bringing home what it means to be an Islanders fan. I was admittedly spoiled in my early fandom after some fleeting success, but it’s what I signed up for. This podcast helps me understand it all and offers a weekly salve when times are rough…which is often the case. I also previously worked at a newspaper in Pa. in the sports department. It was the best job I ever had. A coworker there grew up in NY as an Isles fan. Decades later we still talk, and he was a bit shocked when he learned of my new Isles fandom. “Why didn’t you just pick the Devils?” I remember him asking. Looking back (and looking at the standings today) it might have been a shrewd move. But if that was the case, I wouldn’t have found this podcast, so I consider myself lucky. And as a former media guy, the “bad take, take downs” on the Leafs and Rangers Theater segments are tremendous. Thank you, Mike and Dan. Keep up the great work and LET’S GO ISLES! (It can’t get any worse, right? 🙄).

    The quintessential Islander podcast
There are many Islander podcast, some I like and some not so much. Of all of them Islanders Anxiety is my favorite. It’s neither one of those overly optimistic where everything is prefect nor doom and gloom let’s tear down the team l, fire everybody and celebrate Islander losses to show how right they are. Dan and Mike sound like your run of the mill Islander fans, suffering and celebrating with the rest of us. I also love when they point out the hypocrisy of other teams. I highly recommend. It’s a must listen for me.

The best snapshot of the heart and soul of Isles fans
What a terrific place to go to immerse yourself in a fandom and franchise that is drowning in lore. Mike and Dan each offer their unique perspectives on a team that is both constantly overlooked and yet chock full of absurdist anecdotes. While neither host claims to take an analytical approach to their content, their wisdom, and curiosity around the Islanders, the NHL, and the NY metro area shows something that amounts to an emotionally intelligent conversation about fandom and life.

    Stick to the Islanders please
I enjoy your islanders coverage, but request that you make master leafs theater its own podcast. I only listen to your podcast for islanders coverage, not discussions about the media coverage of a different team. I barely care about your comments on the media coverage of the islanders. It’s similar to your comments about not caring about the us winning at the Olympics, and only caring about the islanders playing hockey. Thanks

#1 isles podcast / top 10 across NHL
If you’re an isles fan and appreciate sarcasm, you’ll love this If you’re a hockey fan curious to hear how ridiculous of an existence isles fans have you’ll love this too

    Thank you Mike
Konnichiwa from Iwakuni, Japan. Been listening to this show since the early days and it's by far my favorite hockey podcast. This show helps with the anxiety that this team puts us through and keeps you connected to the pulse of its fanbase, even if you’re overseas. This show seems to drop at midnight New York time which means 1pm my time. Perfect to listen to for my commute home here in Japan. Keep up the good work guys, and I’m looking forward to the future Weird Islanders Marty Reasoner episode.

    Isles Fan Trapped in NJ
As a fan trapped in NJ like Dan, this podcast is my go to for reactions to Isles news and performances (or lack thereof) as other sources are scarce. Dan and Mike are both polished and professional podcasters that not only bring insight, but also the emotions that fans of this team experience (and endure). Keep up the great work guys!

    Keep talking about the Leafs
Love the podcast, a must-listen for me throughout the season, and despite what others may say, I really appreciate the Leafs talk, and more specifically, the Athletic talk. I inject that hate directly into my veins and it keeps me grounded after drowning in mediocre, Toronto-centered Leafs takes

    Favorite Podcast
Absolutely nails it when it comes to what it’s like to be an Islanders fan. From the frustrations of the team’s inconsistencies to the absolute highs when “the uncles” win a big game! And all handled with some great humor mixed in.

Mike and Dan are all of us
Mike and Dan do such a great job of offering a heart on the sleeve account of wht it is like to be an Islanders fan. Their devotion to the Islanders does not cloud our teams obvious shortcomings, both current and past. They encapsulate all of our emotions about our team and how the rest of the hockey world sees our team. My favorite podcast out there.

    Best Islanders Podcast Out There
Islanders Anxiety is far and away the best podcast covering the Islanders. Mike and Dan have great chemistry and they always seem to have a finger on the pulse of this fanbase. Their thoughts and feelings on both the team and fanbase are always insightful, even when they try to make sense of this crazy team. I absolutely love this podcast, especially when Mike and Dan go down the rabbit hole that is Islanders Lore, its wacky history and all the Weird Islanders who’ve popped up over the years. (Weird Islanders is great you should also check that out). As an Islanders fan who grew up in Virginia, and now lives in Wisconsin, its always great to tune in and listen to two Islanders fans who love (and sometimes hate) this team. Since I’ve never really been able to talk to other Islanders fans (outside of family), its always great to at least listen to fans who are as passionate about the Islanders as me. Thank you for providing that for me. If you’re an Islanders fan and/or a fan of hating the Leafs (and their media) and you want an excellent combination of both, look no further! This podcast is great at both. Finally, everything that LHH has produced over the years has been great. Its collection of Islanders podcasts is fantastic. Also, read lighthousehockey.com everyday for your latest Islanders news and discussions.

    Great podcast from opposing fan
This is a classic podcast and perfectly named! These guys are smart biased and completely delusional about the isles! It is unintentionally hilarious. They are true Fanatics!
  • Michael Paul Smith
    Is this a fan podcast?
Because the two hosts are far too knowledgeable and professional to be fans like you and me! However you might classify it, this show is superb. Dan and Mike have an easy chemistry, and a shared love for the minutiae of Islanders history and fandom. It is wonderfully helpful to hear their insights between games, and has been cathartic in the not-so-recent dark ages. They also have dry senses of humor (Leebowski anyone?), and probably get approached during tailgates by people who don’t know them, but feel like they do. That’s what happens when your show is this good!

    Home away from Islander Home
As an ex pat of Long Island, now living in Nashville, each episode of the Light house is a “must listen” for Islander fans. Dan and Mike’s easy and informed banter provide welcomed doses of history, perspective and a long suffering respect for an organization that we have been cheering on since the early days in 1970 when the Nassau Coliseum opened its doors. @KErvin8448

This show made me a diehard Isles Fan!
So I grew up in Syracuse, NY and occasionally watched the Syracuse Crunch play when my family got tickets. I enjoyed going to the games but could never get into the sport. Long story short, last year during covid, I became an Islanders fan because they are from NY and have my favorite color scheme as my local high school, the Syracuse Orange, Denver Broncos, and the Mets; all Blue and Orange. I couldn’t understand the game though and all the intricacies. I searched for a podcast that would help me understand this sport, let alone this team! I found your guys. I’m so happy that you guys put out good content and it comes from a place of passion. Twitter handle: denver88bronco

    Great Isles Pod
One of the longest running Islanders podcasts! I always enjoy listening to this one for a unique, sort of Isles nostalgia POV. They definitely have a great sense of the history and how weird and fun it is to be an Islanders fan! Definitely one of the can’t miss Isles pods! - @jonj77

    Pessimistic optimism
I love this podcast mike and Dan bring a point of view of a longtime islander. I really like when mike can bring up an firmer obscure islander and make him sound like a legend. I look forward to this podcast every week because I have similar feelings about how the team is playing and how I’m feeling thanks. Twitter : robert_kuprian

    More like Islanders Therapy
There is no sports podcast I enjoy listening to more than Islanders Anxiety, even during the darkest days (like July 2018) when I’ve avoided 99.9% of all Isles-related coverage. Dan & Mike are probably too modest to not scoff at this, but they are both exceptionally talented at what they do. From listening to an embarrassingly massive number of different podcasts across a wide range of topics, one thing I’ve learned is that it is incredibly difficult to provide the content they do in such an entertaining and enjoyable way. Dan, Mike — thank you! LFGI, @bl002e

    My Favorite Islanders Podcast
Hi Mike and Dan, This is most definitely an Islanders podcast for Islander fans, by Islander fans. I think you both have a great pulse on the team and the fan base as well. You’ve also picked the perfect title to epitomize what it means to be an Islanders fan. Thank you for consistently putting out great content, keep up the good work! Ryan @atelltalehart on Twitter

    Isles anxiety
This podcast has it all. Been listening for a few seasons now and it’s the most honest take with just the right amount of anxiety done by anyone in the isles podcast circuit. From the concrete in the coliseum toilets to yormark being called a crook by leboff, to Dan and the JT encyclopedia saga, The moments that make this show are memorable as heck. Two honest to god isles lifers speaking truths 100% of the time. Scratch that isles itch with Hearty helpings of wade dubelwicz and lubo visnovsky references galore. These guys know what’s up. Keep it up fellas. Twitter- @dinosinvietnam

    Islanders Anxiety!
What an apt title! These guys run a well-thought out and well organized show. But most of all they are super entertaining. Love the insights and I identify with the angst. This is a must listen for Isles fans.

    Great isles pod!
Love Islanders anxiety, been a listener for a few years now. Mike and Dan are true fans but also very knowledgeable and professional. Best of both worlds! They really have that innate Islanders fan paranoia, excitement, and passion with a hint of existential fan dread. I look forward to this one every week. Good quality production as well. Hey guys, thanks for the great Isles content. Happy to hear the happy and painful memories shared. Spent many years with no hockey talk as a fan. You guys provide Isles talk I thought I would never hear. Keep it up and thanks again.

Heart and Soul of Islander Country
The Islanders may not get any airtime on the NY radio waves but the fan base and small but enthusiastic press corp have helped fill the void in the Podcast sphere. There are many quality Islander podcasts (HNNY, No Sleep to Belmont, Isle Seat, etc) to listen to, with Islanders Anxiety my personal favorite. Dan and Mike capture the average fans perpetual battle to maintain balance between the agony and ecstasy caused by being an Islander fan. It is the right dose of biased fandom mixed with knowledgeable insights. You will come for the latest team updayes and stay for the constant references to Lubo, Dubielewiscz, and dozens of other past islanders whose playing days exploits remain vivid in this fan base’s memories. @kennethhealy13

    These Guys Are My Faves
Of all the Islanders podcasts out there, this is, by far, my favorite. It’s a nice relaxing chat as if I were meeting my two best friends to recap the week of our favorite hockey team. There’s always positives as well as some anxieties. Also, always some great nostalgia. This should be the go-to #Isles podcast for all fans of this team. Keep up the great work guys. By Diehards for Diehards
This is without a doubt my favorite Islanders podcast out there. These two have the anxieties, references, and appreciation for folk heroes that only those of us who grew up with an unconditional love of the 90’s/00’s Islanders. I especially relate to Michael because he’s closer to my age, I recently found out that he graduated high school with my brother after years of listening to him. Shows how small Islander country really is. I don’t have any social, but am on LHH daily, AsockPuppet77

Islanders Anxiety makes me less anxious
Really love listening to Dan and Mike. Even though I became a fan in the 2010s and some of their dark ages of the Islanders conversation goes over my head, it is something I genuinely look forward to listening to each week. (Twitter @theduffman13)

    Islanders Anxiety Rules
Dan and Mike provide the Top Islanders podcast. I’ve been following this franchise from JP Parise’s OT dagger against the Blueskirts through the glory and Don Maloney’s gutting of the franchise. Sounds like these caught Islanders at their rock bottom complete with that horrible fisherman Jersey. Nothing is better than a big Leebowski rant about Lundqvist’s last game in the bubble or Brian Strait being like a Jedi if a Jedi’s secret power was hitting shin guards with shots at the blue line resulting in odd man rushes the other way. It’s also fun to hear their wide eyed amazement as Barry Trotz and Lou lead this beloved franchise back to glory (hopefully) and remembering this was always the way under Bill Torrey. Keep up the great work boys! Drive for Five; we’ll get there and go for six! Twitter handle - @tware67

    Islanders Anxiety Borderline Therapeutic
Islanders Anxiety is by far my favorite podcast to listen to…I especially get a kick out of Mike’s uncanny assessments of Islanders players (Barzal skates like he should have a permanent rose in his mouth, Sorokin plays goalie like he has a copy of Chomsky’s Manufacturing Consent tucked in the back of his pants). My favorite moment of the podcast always comes at the end, when Dan asks Mike where we can all find him on Twitter, always in a manner and tone as if it’s the first time Dan’s asked Mike about his Twitter handle. It’s with two E’s, Dan. Best Isles Podcast!

    PT Isles
Andrew Gross is knowledgeable and does a good podcast which is enjoyable for an Isles fanatic like me, but he, like many people, has a verbal tic, which I find very unpleasant: He can’t get through a sentence without saying, “you know” when it adds nothing to the idea he’s communicating. No exaggeration, he must say “you know” about 100 times per episode.

    Great Show!
I've been following for a while and I enjoy sharing in the current fan experience and learning more about the islander past being a younger fan myself. A great place to have company in the beatiful highs and lows of fandom. Twitter: @TheDonatoM

This podcast is a must-listen for any Isles fan who grew up or otherwise suffered through the past 30+ years of Isles fan-dom. It’s fun to hear Mike and Dan riff off all pertinent happenings in isles nation. They brighten my commute to work, provide an outlet for my own islander anxieties, and make me feel a little nostalgia for home living out on the west coast. IG @mikeycalarco

    Islanders Anxiety
The be-all and end-all of Islanders podcasts. The comfortability of Mike & Dan goes a long way in soothing the troubled, racing thoughts that come with being an isles fan. I especially appreciate the contextualizing of where this franchise has been and more recently come from with a keen interest on the post-cup, haven’t-experienced-much-success fandom that many 2nd & 3rd generation isles fans know all too well but are still here for, anxiety and all. @mc_gloine
