RhombificDisappointedUnfortunately I must withdraw my previous high rating. In an episode about things the hosts “hated” about the 80’s, the “Just Say No” to drugs campaign was unanimously denigrated, with one host calling it “so (expletive) stupid”. On a more recent episode, a review was read in which a listener boasted of drug use — which seemed to delight the hosts; one even suggested that perhaps he should sample them. Sadly, drugs are neither cute nor funny. I’ve known numerous people whose lives were destroyed by addiction, including a best friend who is now in the ground. I cannot support any program that trivializes substance abuse while mocking and slandering those who would innocently try to steer vulnerable children away from them. Unsubscribed.

Rocker_67Fun Time RememberingThis is a podcast where it feels like you are at the table with three other friends remembering how it was growing up. They talk about things coming up in the times we live in now, then do a show on things we grew up with. This show is very informative and funny at the same time. Even when they talked about the Dewey Decimal System, I was in tears from laughing at their interactions. So if you want to know what it was like growing up as, or were, a GenXer, then this is the podcast for you.

Vince B FriscoThe GenX Perspective on Pop Culture Old and NewI started listening to this podcast for a dose of nostalgia. But what really kept me coming back is the great dynamic between the hosts and the fact that they also cover many new topics (the latest games, TV, movies, technology) from a GenX viewpoint. They’re likable, informative, and well worth your time.

bluesbros178I might not be Gen XI am Gen Z but my dad showed me a lot of gen x stuff growing up, like Dukes of Hazard and Knight Rider. I enjoy this show and learning stuff about my dads childhood.

erm120Fun nostalgia for Gen-XersThis is a really fun show. The friendship between the hosts comes through and they have great conversations. Their childhood memories are spot on for those of us who grew up in the 80s, and so many of the episodes remind me of toys and hobbies and shows and knick-knacks I’d long since forgotten. This is just a great feel-good show.

drh9447My favorite podcast!Absolutely love this podcast. Listening from the beginning. These guys are my age and love all the stuff I love so dearly. Wish I lived closer to them, so I could hang out with them. Do yourself a favor and give this one a try. You won’t regret it.

AlpacaLipsHeavy on laughter, light on humor.Right out of the gate: This is not a glowing podcast review, but please check out Jon’s great GenXGrownUp YouTube channel if you’re interested in 80s video games and tech toys. The podcast on the other hand… Great subject matter, decent insights sometimes, extremely well produced. I especially appreciate the consistently panned mic audio, which helps differentiate the three speakers based on their placement within the stereo sound stage. The high production values are likely owed to Jon’s experience in broadcast TV production. Unfortunately that experience is also evident in the constant schmoozy banter, which sounds like it’s straight out of a local TV morning news/variety show. The amount of laughter far exceeds the amount of humor. I can’t tell if they’re acting badly or drinking well, but either way, after listening to dozens of episodes (new and old) I’m tired of it.
-
Wahhhhh.Rad!Great podcast, great content. Totally scratches the 80s nostalgia itch while mixing in related content if today. These guys really dig what they do, and it shows. These guys rock! 🤘🏻
-
ThaExOGenXgrownup! Great content wherever you consumeThese gents have a real love for the source material, mostly because they’re a part of the living history being captured right here on Apple Podcasts (Et. AL) I truly believe these fellas have the deepest respect for what they do, and I’m proud to call myself a Gen X Grown up. And your dinner can be French fries, if you add the meal stuff on top! It’s called loaded fries!
-
GrabMyBoomstickCould have been greatWould be a great podcast if the host didn’t have to occasionally bring up & dump on people whom they disagree with politically, religiously, socially, etc.
-
tapnappersI Want My GXG!The podcast is great— especially the backtracks, for me!— but GenXGrownUp (GXG) is more than that; it’s a community of folks who respectfully appreciate everything related to Generation X, and beyond. These guys love sharing, and love being shared with (even George) via YouTube, Facebook, Discord, Twitch, Twitter, etc. I’m honored to be part of it!
-
bosstones73Love these guys!Great podcast about fun modern pop culture/ tech and also about great memories from growing up though GenX. Well done guys, keep up the great work!

KhaossianGenXGrownup a real Thursday morning treat. These guys really do mesh together and make for around a whole commute to work (about an hour) every thursday. I've been listening to these guys for almost three years now, and finally decided to at least leave a review. I'm about as far away from them as it can be within the same country (I live in Alaska), but the nostalgia this show brings on my commutes at least brightens my day everytime. Not to mention how much money I've spent after listening to their reviews on products (I actually love my Creality Printer, and I actually got a working Skytech PC, poor George). I need to find my way over to Patreon at some point as I feel I owe it to them for the lighthearted entertainment they bring into my life. Being considered one of the "essential worker" through the pandemic made for some lonely drives into Anchorage. I can't thank these guys enough. Four-ever a Fourth listener..... If you missed out on this one, then you owe it to yourself to go through the back catalogue and hear some of these episodes...... I definitely suggest the Dewey Decimal episode.

unoclayAn excellent, fun podcast full of great "vibes"The best thing about this podcast (and I listen to many) is that the hosts are genuinely nice, friendly people with good attitudes and pleasant demeanors. Their mix of dorky 40-something jokes and relaxed banter is well balanced against their knowledge and research. They don't fall pray to the lame snarkiness or tired attempts to be funny that plague so many podcasts--they just seem like kind, funny guys hanging out and rambling on a wide variety of topics. Fun and recommended.

BrdscotchGet jacked up on Jolt Cola, blow into your game cartridge and get hookedThere’s plenty of podcasts where people blab ad infinitum , but as a former journalist and a GenX’er, I appreciate the organization of topics, friendly discourse and the quality of production this show offers. After tapping into my private cache of jolt cola and searching for podcasts on new/old tech, retro gaming and media, I stumbled on to this podcast and I’m sure you’ll love it! The show’s YouTube channel levels up on another dimension of media and game entertainment- which is also not just retro but modern too. Relive your loved childhood games and media but also learn about new stuff from lens of fellow GenX’ers. This show is like Zork, I just keep playing it!
-
We5freaksWow! Very easy to listen to.I listened to the Mister Rogers episode. I could tell within the first few minutes that the two hosts were very good and very easy to listen to. I will definitely go back to listen to the back category.
-
Mr-SnarkyBest Gen X podcast on the internet....What more can you say? The guys have created a great series full of fun, information, and a bit of yelling at each other once in awhile. But it’s not just the podcast... with the website, YouTube channel, Discord server, etc, they have created a true community. From bantering back and forth with the hosts and other fans, once you dive in, you get a full Gen X Grownup experience. I’m mostly a music and record guy. But even when they cover topics I’m not all that interested about, the podcast is still entertaining and I often come away with something I had no previous knowledge of or interest in that has piqued my interest. Just listen. Would a guy named “Fat Tony” steer you wrong?
-
Miss So 2021Gen X GrownupsBest Gen X podcast out there, period. Lots of topics and humor, covering the stuff we grew up with.
-
Flip Book 😉Radio quality podcastThese guys are absolutely great! The pop culture references, the childhood memories brought back from the Backtracks, and the up to date information and reviews of games, movies and tech toys make this a must listen. Jon, Mo, and George have a great chemistry that comes of as funny and entertaining. Give them a listen and you’ll be hooked!
-
Holly MerridayIf you love pop culture and retro stuff- listen to these guysI’m listening to the Gen X Catchphrases episode as I type this and I’m having a blast remembering all of these great phrases! I also loved the Pizza Arcades, Dewey Decimal System, Weird Al Top Ten, and Christmas is for Kids.

SticksOfKansasGet in a time machine - and re-live the 70's and 80'sI'm not much of a podcast listener, but I was really turned on by this show and am now an avid listener. These guys bring up so much history about what it was like growing up as a Gen-X'er and all the life events, games, positive stuff, and crap-aweful stuff we encountered in our growing-up years. Now I need to figure out this patrion thing and figure out how to pass a few bucks to them for having such an awesome podcast. Well worth the listen!
-
bpnyc73This is the content you're looking for GenXI've finally made my peace with the fact I can't have a DeLorean time machine to take me back to the 80s. The good news is my online search to do so prompted the algorythmns to lead me to this podcast. GREAT SCOTT is it good!!! The chemistry between these guys is amazing and the quality of the content is exactly what I was looking for. Proud to be a new Patreon supporter, subscriber, listener, and GenxGrownUp! Ben

My_kullIt’s like I went to school with these guysOkay, so I didn’t go to school with these guys, but I remember friends like these guys from school. Being GenX guy myself, this trio reminds me of my group of friends from school in the 80’s. We would sit around and talk about the cool stuff we saw on TV or the latest video game (on Atari) and what movie we were going to check out that weekend. All of which they do every week. This podcast evokes fond memories of my childhood while keeping me up to date on all the new geek/nerd trappings of today. Unlike a lot of other podcasts, Gen X Grownup continuously has new content every week without repeating content. I may not have gone to school with these guys, but I wish I had. As they say, give it a listen you’ll be glad you did, I am!

DwhizleYoung guy loves old man podcastThis podcast is amazing and I love everything y’all do with it. The weird al episode was fantastic, me and my dad listened to it in the car and gave our own list before listening to yours and saw how yours compared. We both agreed that Smells Like Nirvana should’ve been at least top 4. John you’re the uncle my mom refuses to acknowledge. Keep up the great work!
-
Stewbacca2119Best Podcast for GenX nerds!!!These guys make the best Gen X content I've ever come across! WarEagle1999Do you like to have fun?If you grew up in the 70’s and 80’s and like to have fun then this podcast is for you. I listen to a lot of podcasts and this is easily the best I have heard. I discovered it last summer when trying to find YouTube videos on SFGE. I’m cheap and even I decided to become a Patreon member. So start downloading now so these guys will keep doing the show. Side note - ShowBiz was definitely better than Chucky Cheese. Rock-afire till I die!
-
Butter spiderUltimate podcast for GenX nerds and norms!I discovered this podcast a little over a year ago when I met the guys at DragonCon in Atlanta. I downloaded their most recent episode at the time to see what it was all about. I have been listening ever since. The guys always come up with a great show every week. I really enjoy reliving, through them, all of the memories of growing up in the 80s that I had forgotten about. Lots of laughs and smiles. Check this one out. You won't regret it!
-
stumonkyRad 2 da boneLove the topics, nostalgia, really informative with new media and tech. The guys flow together so well and are hilarious. George reminds me of Costanza from Seinfeld!!! The backtracks are even better. And where can I download all these 80s commercials/TV themes?? Best podcast and BEST generation X. Keep up, fellas.
-
Apolla101Great podcastFunny and informative! They have a great friendship and their conversation flows easily. They’re great at staying with in the topics with out too much unnecessary rambling. Super funny love their YouTube channel.
-
Metal Ninja StudiosFor Gen. Xers... and everyone else! This podcast is marketed as a great blast of Nostalgia for people who grew up in the 70's and 80's...but I grew up in the 90's and I love it all the same! These guys sound like great friends who have a legitimate passion for geek media, including toys, games, tech, etc.
-

-
chadl48Takes me backI first listened to this podcast after hearing Denny on Tap The Craft (another great podcast) talking about it. I binged the entire back catalog in just a couple of days. I love the fact that most of the episodes are under 45 minutes which makes it quick and easy to get through. That being said these guys have great chemistry together so even if the episodes were two hours you wouldn’t even notice. It’s so cool to hear about old tv shows, movies and games that I still love to this day. Brings back great memories.
-
TraumaMasterMr.These guys are great. They seem to connect with the memories and things of my youth in a way that makes me fell like I have known some of them for decades. It is great going down memory lane and hearing about all of our common interest in today's games and gadgets as well. This is by far, my favorite podcast. I highly recommend it!
-
Happy ELMNot To Be MissedThis is content you will enjoy and feel great about. These guys have their stuff together. Grab a coffee and take a 30 minute break with the GenX crew. You’ll be glad you did.
-
BizTravlDadA feather duster for my childhood memoriesIf you are like me, time has clogged your mind with all sorts of adult responsibilities. Job, marriage, family have taken up the spotlight and pushed many things you used to love to the background. This podcast is like a feather duster for those dark corners of childhood memories that aren’t necessarily forgotten, but just haven’t been accessed in a really long time. I find myself listening and thinking “oh yea, I remember that” or “I had one of those too!” Its a great escape from the daily grind and is just good fun to listen to.
-
conner666Great for us middle to over middle age "adults"First I have to thank LuceScrew for mentioning this show on his podcast, Tap the Craft. I started with the video game console episode, and then the latest one, and was hooked after that. Completed the rest of the shows today, and for those of us within months of hitting the big 5-0 or those having fond memories of the 70's and 80's, this is a nice flashback!
-
BozelfI could hang out with these guys!I look forward to every episode. I can't wait until they start doing them weekly. Every episode is interesting, the bumps are hilarious and nostalgic. These guys are an inspiration for others who want to create content. Do what they do. Find your passion and fly that flag high. It's like a Kevin Smith movie, I've had some of these discussions with my friends. Totally relatable, funny, informative. Good work fellas!
-
LuceScrew (Denny)Nostalgia at its bestI discovered this podcast a week ago and listened to all the epsidoes in two days (14 in total). Love the throwback conversations diving into memories I share right along with them. I am remembering things I hadn't thought about in 30+ years. Well produced with very likeable hosts and a variety of topics...mostly bringing back memories of growing up in the 70's and 80's, but they do touch on modern pop culture and entertainment. Give this show a try...even if you are not a GenX becasue there is something for everyone.
-
M BoyzSpeaking to my generationWell done! Very relatable guys, speaking to fellow nerds of all levels, especially the young at heart genre in their 40s and 50s, but also reaching today's young (like my teenage sons). They discuss the tech and media of our youth, but also spend a lot of time discussing and reviewing current tech media. Nice to get opinions from "my generation".
-
PakledFLAll the stuff I love and more...The 1st episode has so many fun topics that I didn't even realize I had been listening for that long! Funny and insightful, I can't wait for the next episode!!!
-
Slomo67Fun and entertaining! As a GenXer this podcast is really fun to listen to!
-
REDdimensionThey Make Me SmileThese three guys are quite obviously good friends and having a great time talking about media, games, toys, & tech that they all enjoy. Surprisingly well-produced for a new podcast. Worth a listen if you are a Generation X'er who still loves pop culture, or really anyone who likes to smile.
