Love the Asimov limerick quote, Jimmy!

    Great podcast
This is an entertaining podcast. I really appreciate that you can play it with children in the car. So many Star Trek podcasts use profanity indiscriminately. Even the ones featuring Star Trek actors.

    A Waste of Time
There is an unfortunate amount of recency bias here, as regards “Strange New Worlds” & “Picard.” “S.N.W.” is better than “Discovery” & season three of “Picard” might be better than season one, but that’s no excuse for cutting the new shows more slack than is given to T.O.S. & the “T.N.G” era shows.

    Great reviews.
    I like Star Trek thanks.

    Please correct recording method
I took a break from listening to these guys because the audio was driving me nuts. I am referring to the fact that audio is missing from the first part of every sentence! Please for the love of the Almighty just once listen to your own podcast recording before inflicting it on the masses. Hear (or rather, don’t hear) that missing first word or syllable, and please be a learner and look into how to fix it. Likely you have never tested the default settings for “noise gate” or perhaps “audio ducking” in the audio recording software you are using. Try turning the noise gate entirely off. It will be a revolution. I wrote this review when I decided to try again. I will have to be checked into a mental hospital if I try to keep listening.

If you love Star Trek, you’ll love this podcast.
In depth reviews from three interesting perspectives. Honest without being hypercritical. However, the drinking game would be once for each time Dom says the word ‘interesting’.

    Drinking Game
I’ve made a drinking game based on this podcast. Every time someone calls ST Enterprise character Ensign Travis MAYWEATHER by the wrong name MERRIWEATHER I take a drink. Usually by the end of an Enterprise podcast I’m drunk. If you can’t get the name right, it undermines your ability to project confidence and knowledge in the subject matter. PLEASE STOP CALLING MAYWEATHER MERRIWEATHER!!!

    Not what it bills
Claims to dig into deeper meaning of episodes, which I took to mean as just that, what is significance, what can one learn from, and in what ways is this science fiction show a means to explore bigger ideas. After two listens I find none of that. They dig deeply into the plot of the episode and what it might mean for bigger story arcs and character development and also get extremely nit picky with writing and production. I’m all for criticism and critique, but I found some incorrect. So, if just wanting detailed critique of the episode, this is good. If you want something deeper and more thoughtful and provocative, then I’d skip.

    Enjoyable SQPN podcast
This was the first SQPN podcast I started listening to, and I look forward to Dom and Fr. Corey’s perspective but definitely enjoy Jimmy’s critical eye. I have been slowly working my way through old series in broadcast order (currently in the middle of DS9 and busted started Voyager) but generally watching newer series like Picard when they air. Being able to go back and listen to their criticism right after I watch the relevant episode has been fun and in many cases there is information about a particular episode I was unaware of.

    Well discussed.
I love the way the panel methodically goes through each episode. I do feel there’s a lot of jumping around, with each series only getting at best one episode per month unless a new show is airing, in which case they focus on the new show season. That’s my only real critique.

    Great podcast
Thank you for helping me understand all the gems in the story I miss when watching. Good insight! Thanks.

Got me excited for Star Trek again
While their mission is Christian in nature, you will easily enjoy the podcast even if you’re neither Christian nor religious. Whether you’re a serious or casual Trekkie, you’ll enjoy the balanced and insightful commentary. I’m enjoying the podcast so much that I’ve become a financial supporter (which I rarely do. I’m fairly tight-fisted with my money). I had seen TNG, one episode of TOS, and only made it through part of the first season of DS9. I had no intent of watching Discovery or Picard (didn’t particularly care enough to pay). But after seeing a lot of these episodes on my Jimmy Akin Podcast feed, I decided to listen. I was instantly hooked. I’ve now watched all of Discovery, Short Treks, Picard, and Lower Decks, watched all of DS9, and am now watching TOS along with the feed.

    It’s great.
I’m not really a Star Trek fan, though I enjoyed DS9. I doubt I’ll ever watch Picard. I love this show and never miss an episode.

    I love following along!
I love following along with these pod-casts as I watch the actual episodes!

    One of my favorite podcasts
This podcast is a highlight of my week. I am a long time Star Trek fan. I appreciate that they talk about episodes in all Star Trek media. I like that they are balanced in their reviews. It’s a podcast by fans, for fans.

    Great show!
Getting the chance to watch old episodes of Star Trek and then hear you guys discuss the episodes is a highlight of my week. Thanks and keep up the good work!

    Keep Trekking, SQPN!
As a longtime Next Generation fan, I love listening to these guys chat about episodes from throughout the Trek universe. The commentaries are fun and really delve into the episode. With all of SQPN’s productions, one really gets the sense of being a part of the conversation—you laugh when the discussants laugh, and you wish you could chime in when they’re going through their points on the material at hand. Great productions and awesome team. Keep on Trekking!

Boldly going where no podcast has gone before
Each episode is an in depth look at an episode of one of the many incarnations of Star Trek. The podcasters discuss what they like or didn’t like about each episode in a very balanced way. Great for long time fans of the franchise or people just discovering it and don’t know where to start.

    Thank you
I recently commenced listening to your podcast. I enjoyed remembering “The man trap” I’m going to watch it tonight.

I've read the Catechism in the original Klingon...
What can I say. I grew up watching Star Trek TOS so many times in syndication that I can recite the dialog to all the episodes. This show is a fun look at each episode from each series and movie, warts and all. The good, bad and the illogical. Its the highlight of my week when this shows up in Overcast.

    These 3 guys.....
Know their stuff and share it in fun and descriptive ways that everyone can enjoy...love it!
  • Rss beast
    Better than most ST podcasts
I don’t agree with all the takes, but the discussion is interesting. I also appreciate the hosts are older trekkers and they have a a richer knowledge of the history of trek and general sci-fi knowledge.
