Glad they are willing to discuss this
Often porn and other self-serving habits and choices in marriage are symptomatic of a spouse who has either a personality disorder (Narcissistic is often present) or underlying emotional dysfunction that she/he tries to soothe with poorly chosen coping mechanisms (depressed, anxiety, etc. soothed with near any feeling of “high” be it sexual, drugs, shopping out of control, food addiction). If you have the Narcissistic spouse, educate yourself and stop giving your spouse any more time. The sooner a Narcissist loses everything, the better. If your spouse is the emotional anxious or depressed and feels true sorrow and wants to exercise reparations, I would encourage you to work with your spouse and on your own healing. Narcissists have utterly turned their back on God. Some others falling prey to this idiotic, self-serving sin have not turned on God completely as the Narcissist has.

    Great podcast, too short
There a lot to cover in this area - biblical or non-biblical. Six episodes is not sufficient for this topic. I felt the one area that’s not covered enough is the evolution of the internet. Internet’s evolution made porn extremely accessible now. They gave an example of a guy that got into porn through the old school magazine thing. Come on, it’s like 1980s man. Today, we have ordinary citizens with Only Fans accounts now. It’s no longer your Alexis Texas or Tera Patrick’s of the world. Your neighbor and co-workers could have an OF account. Isn’t that a bigger problem?

    Godly perspective
As a counselor I really appreciate this podcast series and the tone of gently challenging ourselves and others to be more open and authentic with dealing with pornography. I want more podcasts!

It’s not all the man’s fault.
Jim Daly appears to think that every problem in every marriage is the man’s fault. It’s unfortunate that the program has devolved into the Focus on all the Issues Men Create in Relationships program rather then the truly balanced and helpful program it was under Dr. Dobson’s guidance. If Dr. Daly would not interject his thoughts on men being to blame in almost every broadcast, the information being put out would be much more palatable as it is otherwise excellent.

    Not Helpful
Again another Focus on the Family podcast that is not helpful for young male listeners. They talk about how bad porn and erotica books are but offer up hardly any advice or guidance for young males.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
I just listened to the first episode and I’m already hooked. Thank you Greg and Erin Smalley! This is fantastic and let’s so many of us know we are not struggling alone. The church, in general stays away from this subject, but I am SO very thankful for you two. Thank you for serving God with your lives and also serving us and giving us resources to heal. <3

    Insightful Testimonies and Scirpture Based
Thank you Focus on the Family for talking about a taboo subject that affects the lives of so many individuals and marriages. As a wife on the other side of the discovery of my husband’s addiction, I am learning what forgiveness looks like, and this podcast has already helped me see the Light in clarity and in truth. This podcast is for everyone! Porn and hyper-sexuality is so normalized in our culture and we need to be educated about its affects on us if we want to grow and be challenged in our walks with Christ. He can truly transform the likes of anyone willing. God Bless.
