GGGYYY2021Great podcastAfter watching the show, I binged listening this podcast, it is such a great podcast giving so much background information, it also invited the real husband in the podcast, so sad to hear about his side of story. Highly recommended!!
-
gofkyouselvesYou sickWhole first episode is just some lady patting you on the back for making this podcast—- AS FICKING DULL AS DULL CAN BE
-
katie9erGross.This podcast makes an Australian accent sound unintelligent. I couldn’t make it past the first 15 minutes.
-
kaetmonsterFine for what it is, but it’s not what I hoped it wasI started watching the show after I found the podcast but before I listened, because I assumed a “companion” podcast would be arranged in a coherent combination with the episodes of the show, so after I finished ep 1 I listened to ep 1. They are not related. This podcast is about making & filming the show as a whole and the episodes of the podcast do not match up with the show’s episodes as one might assume they would. I found the insight interesting, and I might come back after I’ve watched the whole show because I love Lauren BP, but I did get spoilered since I didn’t know the full story of the murders, and it’s not what I hoped for.

ECM aprilPodcast is good but...The woman doing the interviewing couldn’t be more annoying or self-righteous. The interviewees are very good and provide insight to the show/actual events

tgillman85Murders at White House FarmThe show on HBO Max was enthralling! The podcast offered more insight and I loved it. How about reading the description of a podcast before listening to it?!?!?? It clearly states that this is a companion podcast to the show. Also, this crime happened 35 years ago, it can’t be spoiled.
-
tigertirzFascinating!!!!Clearly all the bad reviews come from people that don’t understand this is a companion podcast. Binged the show and then this podcast. Really great interviews and insight. Can’t wait to read the book next!!!
-
WindholzL83LOVEI’m a little shocked some were so disappointed by this. But I loved it! What a crazy story and so cool to hear from the people who got to be a part in making this come to the screen and hear from Colin himself.
-
MrsCoveNot a true crime story but instead extremely boring interviews about the making of the show in HBO.Don’t waste your time if you are expecting a true crime story or story of any kind. This is interviews with individuals that made the show for HBO and people they talked to in making the show. Boring !!
-
WavesAndTidesNo Story hereI was looking forward to a “new” true crime podcast but was very disappointed with this. It belongs in Society and Culture. it starts off with the Director’s interview but we don’t even know the story. Not a clue as to what is being said.
-
kimky0853456Podcast out of orderThe podcast is well done but you would think the podcast would follow the HBO series in order. The podcast has spoilers that don’t run in the same order. You probably need to watch the entire series before listening to this.
-
GabilladeauGreat Companion PodcastGreat to listen to after watching the show completely. The interview with Colin Caffell is insightful.
-
KirstieMUmm.... what?I literally have no clue what is going on.. they didn’t even give a background of the story. This is strictly a behind the scenes of some movie or show I have never heard of. The author is great though!
-
ginandtonic17Not true crimeThis would be less disappointing if it wasn’t in the true crime category. I’m not a movie/ TV buff so this is basically an interview with the director which would be cool if I wasn’t expecting it to be about the actual crime. Probably my fault for not reading the description but I did hear it advertised in another podcast and there wasn’t mention that it was like this. I’m sure it’s cool for people who want to know how things were made but that’s not what I was looking for. Also probably would be more worth it if I had watched the series or whatever it was.

Nutly19READ Before You ListenI could not understand how this podcast got a 3.5 until I read the reviews and saw that, sadly, people don’t read. This is a COMPANION podcast. That means that you listen to this podcast after watching the documentary. It’s NOT a re-telling of the story. This movie was amazingly well done, and one that will leave the viewer wanting more. Thus, this podcast. You get to hear from the author of the most comprehensive book on the crime, you hear the host talk with Colin Caffell for his final interview, listen to how the producer made the choices that created this moving and respectful film...It’s five stars. If you’re someone who ‘doesn’t have the bandwidth’ to even watch the film, you should definitely move on to something else. For everyone else, it’s 5 stars.

podcastingerSpoilersWhy not follow each episode so you don’t ruin the show for the viewers who are interested in how this was made???

JudeRanchInterviewer opinions unwarrantedI believe the author is telling her best story. However, when the interviewer asked about Crispy the dog’s cruel euthanasia by Jeremy, she should have left out her tasteless comment about her incredulity concerning the feelings of readers/listeners. I acknowledge the murder of five family members was indeed unfathomable. But the murder of Crispy was just another cruel power move by a sadist. RIP to all that were taken from this earth by such a twisted individual.
-
Pats Fan 28DisappointingThis podcast is a behind the scenes podcast of how the TV movie was made. It isn’t about the murders themselves. Beyond disappointing and extremely dry/boring
-
Mags98711Well doneThis podcast was truly fascinating. I actually recall reading an article in the NYT about this tragedy when it occurred. I had not heard anything after the initial story reported the shootings. It was quite interesting to hear the outcome and aftermath of the case.
-
@cesargonzExcellent companion pieceThe true crime mini series is a great watch, not perfect, but very engrossing. This podcast is great to give you a broader picture of the story. Like it a lot!
-
Claudia, the TeacherPerhaps a Great StoryThe first few episodes might be super but the lady who “reads” the information speaks at a fast pace plus her English accent is hard to understand. No pauses no dramatic flair for explaining the story!! This is a podcast you are not reading a third grade book report!!!!!!
-
SeattleDahlDidn’t know I needed to watch the showThis story could have been so amazing if it was told as a story to u fold on the podcast. NOT a follow-up companion to the show. I love my true crime podcasts. This story sounds captivating but I’m don’t have the bandwidth to tune into the show. Thumbs down.
-
PugLuvNGoddess aka ShannonMurders at White House FarmI’m giving this wonderful Podcast 5 stars...it is well researched, and spoken beautifully. I hope to see a lot more from this podcaster. Shannyn K.

kelseymelinGood listen but...Super interesting podcast, but you really need to watch the HBO series first

davinaperlfineartFantastically In Depth. My first introduction to Podcasts was Murder In Oregon... From there I was hooked. I then listened to Happy Face also produced by Lauren Bright Pacheco... Grippingly haunting. I am now a True Crime Junkie, literally. I heard the adds for Murder On White House Farm and listened to the first podcast and quickly realized I needed to watch the TV series, which I’m embarrassed to admit I binge watched in 24 hours... a truly worthy Covid distraction! The TV series was fantastic... Sad, informative, dramatic.. I had never heard of the horrid murders that took place and was intrigued and horrified at every step. Truly fascinating. The podcast is an in depth and closer dive into what really went on, and Lauren does an amazing job pulling information out and tying it into the events that took place...

mygirlpearlWhite House FarmsThis is one of the best podcasts I’ve heard ever! Everything about it is superbly done.
-
Violet9876Useless without HBOThe descriy needs to indicate this podcast is NOT about the murders, nor is it about the television show about the murders, but rather about the MAKING of the television show about the murders.
-
JKF3229Marketing and a little bit more. Mostly marketing.Don’t bother if you don’t subscribe to HBO
-
qweenspiracyYawn festBoring
-
Honest as they comeNo story here - VERY boringNot at all what the trailer says this show is - very boring! I’ve honestly never been so annoyed I wasted my time on listening to a podcast before.
-
aaad24Just an ad to get you to buy HBO maxThey aren’t actually doing a true crime podcast. This is an exaggerated add for the documentary.
-
danamd13watch HBO Max 1stThis is a great addition to the 6 episode HBO Max series. But, you really need to watch that first before listening to this podcast. It will help you understand this story much better. Enjoy!
-
JohnF1989Haunting, insightful, powerfulI had no awareness of the real-life crime on which this podcast is based, but I saw the podcast in the True Crime charts and thought it looked interesting… Realized it’s a companion podcast for an HBO Max show so decided to watch that first — I have seen the first 3 eps and it’s GREAT. Now, I’ve come back and listened to the podcast and find it fascinating — a really great balance of behind-the-scenes stuff about the series and further insight into the real-life murders. Highly recommend!
