danajlambComprehensiveThese podcasts are rich with facts and insights that I rarely received in my art studies in college. They act as an inspiration to find even more information as I find specific aspects of the Renaissance in further reading. Thanks for these!

WillapaBayThanksJust started listening to Podcast. Wonderful.

Luke A SA marvelous podcastThoroughly enjoying this podcast! I’ve been listening while cycling for long distances and needing a distraction from the pain in my legs. It’s been a great way to better introduce art history to myself as I’ve grown a deep interest in it over the past year after getting to see an exhibit of Botticelli’s best work. Very easy to follow but I wish there were more episodes though as I’m nearing the end!

Dalrymple3Such a wealth of Renaissance knowledge!I stumbled across this podcast in search of Art and History - I couldn’t have been more excited! The Renaissance podcast has so much wonderful information and life stories about these incredible artists. I knew nothing about these individuals before the podcast and I’ve been hooked since I came across it just a mere week ago! I highly recommend this podcast and hope the owner releases new episodes soon!

koasworldstudiosSoothing ListenThis podcast is an easy listen during an 8 hour shift at work and really helps pass the time. I’m several years late finding this so there are a lot of episodes that are bingeable and can get me through the hours. Dennis Byrd references the same historical figures throughout multiple episodes to help solidify and individualize them into your brain as the story grows. Great show!

regulatedexpressionmodelGreat showSomeone please tell me what the intro music is. Thanks

ItalyCJEnjoyable and informativeI am enjoying this series and in spite of having studied Art History in college, I am learning more in-depth information. I just have one teensy little thing that bothers me. The speaker might want to take a class in Beginning Italian. His pronunciations of famous Italian artists’ names is not accurate. It is hard for me to listen to his mispronunciations. I received a BA in Art History and was taught by instructors who travelled to and/or studied in Italy. I have taken an Italian language class from a native speaker so I do know how basic letter combinations are pronounced. Clearly the speaker knows his subject and definitely knows about the artistic processes. I’m still listening, but that’s my one suggestion. I hope you are not offended.

@AdamRomanoTattooThank goodness for this podcast!!I just absolutely love hearing this gentleman speak about art history!! He is doing a great job and I love how each podcast focuses on a predominant person from the Renaissance. I am a tattooist, oil painter, and art history student training to be a teacher. I hope I am as good as a speaker and lecturer as this man. Thank you sir for putting together this wonderfully insightful podcast. - Adam Romano Romano’s Custom Tattoo & Art Gallery @AdamRomanoTattoo

boogieluluGood for all ages!! :) :DHello! I am a normal 5th grader and struggle a little with history but when I listened to this suddenly I wanted to learn more and more about the renaissance! I am even done with this subject and am still listening to this! My teacher even supports the podcast! and no matter what age you are, if you want to learn about the renaissance this is the podcast for you. Thank you so much with helping me with history and school. This is such a GREAT podcast! THANK YOU!!!

chatoxhuThe renaissanceHow credible is a person that horrible mispronounce “Cimabue” name as “boey” Can’t listen to that anymore use any internet tool to correct that dreadful mistake
-
Censorship? Really?Perfect for Art EducationI neglected my art education during my schooling, but am trying to make up for it now! This show is a great way to get into the development of Western Art.
-
IsaNYCMichelangeloPlease pronounce the names of people and places described in your podcast. It severely detracts from the information you are presenting.
-
Downers GroveNice PresentationEnjoy the podcast very much and have picked up knowledge beyond the more well know masters.
-
Imperialism2themaxTop Tier PodcastWonderful resource for anyone with a casual interest in Art History and the Renaissance. This podcast definitely sparked my interest in the subject. 10/10 would recommend.
-
AmyFloNice but needs moreWhile the podcaster clearly does his research and is passionate about the subject, I feel many of the episodes barely skim the surface of the subject matter. The editing is a bit choppy, but not too bad. I love that this podcast is available, but it would be great if there was more. I'm greedy!!

The Monday AmericanArt for your eyes and your mind!Listen, the Renaissance was a wild time where men were being paid to make solid gold doors, paint on ceilings, and one artist even cut off his own ear. A period where one of the best artists was named after one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shows how difficult it must be to Podcast about it; this show handles the Renaissance better than any other out there! Subscribe, Listen, Love! A++ Show!

Marcella MonicoPoorly researchedThis could be the best Art History Podcast out there. The author is passionate about the subject and cares about it. There are two major issues with the podcast though: mispronunciation of recurrent words such as Signoria (which any history student should know how to pronounce) is very annoying (not to mention it discredits the author’s knowledge of the subject), and the lack of depth on the subjects themselves (like glossing over important facts, such as saying both Michelangelo and Leonardo were both painting the Battle of Anghiari in the Palazzo della Signoria, when Michelangelo was actually painting the Battle of Caccina). I finally had to stop listening when the author butchered the story of Michelangelo deceiving Soderini when “fixing” the David.
-
bchgal11Needs TweakingI live in Italy, so admittedly I'm nitpicking. The mispronunciation of some words (Giovanni, Verrocchio, signoria) is distracting. With a little work, this could be great!
-
GiambelardoGreatThanks

Leonardo of PisaBreak from current eventsPretty good podcast for a historical overview of the period. History gives us all perspective. Focus is on art; but I think that this period in Italy is just as significant as a revolutionary movement in money and finance (which some might say that art is all about anyway). Could spend more time on that, too. Worth a listen.
-
fellowItalianAmericanGreatI am really enjoying this history of renaissance art which is done artist by artist. The podcaster brings a lot together and provides excellent overview.
-
EJ.LeighTalks fast and robotic: incomprehensibleI was excited to dive into this podcast but the speaker's manner of speech I can barely understand. He talks much too fast, choppy, and robotic. I tried to stick it out, but no can do.
-
JedWinderVery informative and interestingI found this podcast very helpful, informative, and enlightening in my preparation for a trip to Italy! My wife and I went to Milan, Florence and then Rome to see all of the famous sights and this podcast really helped me know the back story and history of what we were looking at. It really brought better context to help me appreciate the amazing history that was there. Thank you so much for your in-depth research and clear presentation!
-
Lizzy10001Excellent educationI am a casual art history learner and am always worried of not being able to keep up with too deep of learning. This podcast has the right length of the episodes with the right level of depth for me, I want to thank the host for putting together such a great series of Renaissance art education material. What I learned will definitely make my future trips to art museums much more interesting and meaningful. Thank you !
-
Long-time-fanLove it!Love the show, it's informative but very accessible, too--which can be hard to achieve with this subject matter. Keep up the great work!
-

-
Art_teacher_1980Very good!I am an art history teacher and have been for over 30 years. I have been studying the Renaissance and teaching it, and have found very few resources they give me new insight. But this one does, and I really like how the series is broken up and how passionate the narrator is. I don't wanted to end!
