This is my absolute favorite educational podcast geared towards younger listeners! I’m the parent of an 11yo child, I can’t even remember how long we’ve been listening to it together for now. But for at least the past 5 years my kiddo has been listening to it at bedtime almost every single night! He’s got a very active mind & really needs something that’s both interesting & relaxing to be able to listen to in order to get to sleep quickly, & I’m honestly so grateful to this podcast for being just that. He’s quite mature for his age, & for a long time now he just can’t tolerate listening to most kids’ educational podcasts because they tend to be so cheesy & goofy, & he just doesn’t enjoy that at all. But Breck (the host of BTH) does such a phenomenal job of telling these stories in a way that’s very digestible for young minds, while being able to keep their attention, without it also having any kind of “juvenile” or “cringey” vibe. We were in a quite violent car accident about a year ago, & since then my child has had pretty bad nighttime anxiety & a fear of the dark that he’s never displayed before. Him having this podcast to fall asleep to is sooo helpful for keeping his mind from going to scary thoughts when he’s alone in bed. And even though he’s listened to every episode multiple times over the years, he’s yet to express boredom for any of them. I myself really enjoy every episode I’ve listened to all the way through. We especially like the episodes about animals & technology! Another thing I really love is the vast variety of topics. Truly, thank you so so much for creating this podcast & continuing to keep it alive & well for so many years now. I know this is one of those things I’m going to often remember & look back on fondly after my little guy is all grown up. Hopefully he’ll still want to listen to an episode with me every once in awhile for as long as they keep being released! Also, anyone who is complaining about the ad volume & feel like it’s something valid of taking away a star or more, JUST PAY FOR THE AD FREE VERSION ALREADY!!! It’s ridiculously inexpensive, & this podcast is 100% deserving of the monetary support!! If you choose to keep listening to the version with ads, then the timing/volume of them is something YOU chose to keep dealing with & it’s really not fair to make your rating any less than 5 stars solely based on that. K I’ll get off my soap box now lol

“Educational,” Pah! This podcast is full of lies. The genesis is not the first sega console! The Master System is! And listening to some of the episodes like the sonic ones, half the information is totally incorrect! The only good part is the outro MUSIC. Not content, music.

I have loved this podcast for a long time but the ads have gotten out of hand. They are loud, obnoxious, and jarring. Please go back to either reading the ads yourself or choosing ones that are quieter. There is nothing worse than being on the brink of sleep and then hearing an ad go “HEY Y’ALL!!!”

We’ve listened to bedtime histories for awhile. My daughter likes to fall asleep to it. However, lately the ads are out of control. There are 3-4 loud and obnoxious ads before and after each episode. They seem to be the same ads before and after. I get that the podcast needs to make money, but it would be great if the ads were a little more chill since we’re listening at bedtime. Update: the loud ads went away for a bit. But now they’re back. :( It’s so frustrating and I don’t think we’ll be able to listen to this podcast - at least not for bedtime.

I love your podcast; I found out from a add from another podcast I was listening to; which was Koala Moon. However I love Koala Moon, it’s kinda for little kids, and they never really got me interested. But it did make me fall asleep, if you are 8 and younger, you should listen to it. I heard about your podcast before that add, and then I asked me Alexa to play your podcast. It was life-saving, so intriguing and cute, I love your spy episodes, I recommend doing Taylor Swift one, Ann Frank, Taous Hum, (Most people don’t know about it, look it up!), history of paper, life of Albert Eighnstein, and I know you made a Michael Jackson one, but this will sound crazy, but I heard how he dad, at first during a Pepsi add (I don’t know how) his hair caught on fire, so I would like to know the specific details, and he took a pain-killer, became addicted, his doctor gave him a pain-killer, but it was poisoned. I don’t remember if she poisoned it or it was already, but you should make a day-time or not recommended for night time episode. Even though your podcast makes you simulated and intrigued, you still fall asleep! The only reason why I put 4 starts and not 5 is because, there are really loud and obnoxious adds, and I think you should make the episodes at least up to 10-20 minutes. The history in my son’s elementary school is severely lacking and we use this as a supplemental educational tool. He loves it, asks questions, and is very engaged in the topics. He looks forward to listening each night.

This podcast is great it’s soothing just the amount of funny that it has one or two laughs in there some times. the only thing that could be changed is the length of the episodes there only eight or nine minutes like the Micheal Jackson one doesn’t even talk about off the wall which is one of his most important albums. but I still really love this podcast.
