HawlisticWith GratitudeI came across this podcast as I sought to learn more about Ireland and what it meant for me to travel there from America. I have learned a lot about Ireland and the world. I have also been uplifted in troubled times by your deep humanity. Thank you very kindly.

MaeveTheFaeWonderful podcast, excellent hosts, and very informativeThis is an amazing podcast and I am so glad to have found it! It is very informative and formatted in such a thoughtful way. They cover things in a very investigative way and are very thorough. They are also clear about any bias they might have, instead of just pretending that you can report without a bias, and do an amazing job of looking at all angles objectively. The hosts are lovely and intelligent and listening to them discuss things is very enjoyable. They give quips and levity as needed and I just don’t know what else to say to encourage you to listen. If you want a comprehensive, informative podcast about Ireland, its culture, history, current events, etc. than this is the podcast for you.

PalunargarExcellent podcast on Irish issuesI’m glad I finally found a podcast made by Irish people wish brings a different perspectives on topics where I only heard the British point of view. The hosts explain difficult or sensitive issues with a humane perspective. Specially, I recommend “The Famine” episode. I can’t wait to listen the “war of independence” episodes. I hope one day to visit Ireland and North Ireland!
-
CogetteUSRealpolitik/Charming Hostsunique view of Irish politics and the effects of same on Europe-and vice versa. Big portfolio. I have no idea how they manage it given their day jobs but I look forward to every podcast and save them for my dog walks so I can enjoy every bit. I suspect they will hate I called them charming but it’s not rhetorical.

The Celtic SassenachGreat listening, bad if you want to live in Ireland and can’t.The podcast I hate to love. The content is very interesting and engaging. I learn something new every time I listen. But as a recovering hibernophile it makes me long to live in Ireland like most things Irish related.

RoanokeRebelSo you think you know about Ireland....Think again! I’m learning so much about Irish history and culture (past and present), and current events - things I didn’t know, or just had wrong - as I listen to each episode. I suggest listening to current episodes, but to partake of the ones from the beginning, to the present, too. An Irish perspective on Ireland, and on the world. It’s all grand!

Jenn KrausLearning so much!I’m hooked! Every single episode is so good. I love the hosts’ interactions. They are smart, funny, and informative. I hope to visit Ireland one day and get to see this beautiful country in person. Its rich history and awesome landscapes are unparalleled.

Grosvenor SquareThe best podcast on Irish CultureAs a first generation Irish American, I thought I was fairly aware of key historical and modern Irish cultural touch points. Hosts Tim and Naomi gently remind me every episode that there is so much I don’t know! These are well-researched, produced and delivered mini-documentaries on items small and large regarding Irish culture. Each is a delight! I highly recommend this for anyone interested in Irish history, politics and history. I can’t wait until this pandemic ends so I can visit again. Think I’ll have a new perspective on what I’ll be seeing based on Naomi’s and Tim’s informative podcast .

TusqqIreland and much moreI stumbled upon this podcast while on vacation in Ireland — and became a huge fan. A great mix of history, culture, and contemporary politics (the updates on Brexit, for example, were clear and factual). Hosts Tim and Naomi have great chemistry. I never miss an episode even though I’m now back in Los Angeles — and I’m not even Irish! Great podcast.
-
Hel-raiserIntro to IrelandI’ve learned so much I didn’t know about Irish history and culture. Fascinating topics, interesting interviews and Naomi and Tim are very knowledgeable and fun hosts!

-
TaffySeaBrilliantVery well done! Compelling listening, carefully balanced presentation, solid research, and interesting topics— many of which I haven’t seen discussed elsewhere. A go-to for Irish culture, history and politics.

ClarityridingalldayThank youThank you for this great podcast! We just visited Ireland for the first time this year, but I’ve been listening for awhile. This is super informative, clear, and engaging. Thanks for all you do!

redienbach bLove this podcast!Really informative and well researched pod about Ireland and other items of news with an Irish slant

LamMalMacFinallyHands down bar none the absolute best podcast going for all things (actually) Irish. Not only is this an excellent introduction to major themes in Irish history and culture, it’s also a hugely informative deep dive into the most pressing political questions of today (best Brexit coverage of any media full stop). Unlike many Ireland-related pods plagued by rumor, sentimentality, and historical myth, hosts Tim and Naomi are journalistically thorough, historically responsible, and politically fair-minded. Really fascinating, admirable stuff. Been looking for this for a long long time. Grateful!
-
NiamhiekyBrexitAs an Irish person living in the US I really appreciate your deep dive into all things Brexit. These past two episodes have been really informative and helpful. I was in college when the Good Friday agreement came into effect. It would be a terrible shame to go backwards.
-
gumblepompfWrong show! The episode titled “Where the Brexit Stakes Are Highest Part 2” is a completely different show. It’s something to do with the environment.
-
avidposcastfanTraveller’sExcellent. The episode on Traveller's was a standout. Very well researched and delivered.
-
MarymceIrish History into today’s worldI’m so happy I found this podcast. Great information by a historian and reporter. Wonderfully narration. If you have any interest in Irish culture give this a listen.
-
Sligo O'ConnorOne of my favorite podcasts everFascinating historical and cultural walk through Ireland. I’m on episode 8 of the first season and absolutely love it. I never appreciated my Irish grandparents as much as I do after listening to this.
-
tfollettIncredibly interesting & informativeI love this podcast! I’m a Californian moving to Ireland in the fall and have a distinct lack of knowledge about some aspects of politics/history/culture so this has been invaluable as I prepare to move. Naomi & Tim are so well informed and have prepared these podcasts so thoroughly, complete with interviews, and it’s a phenomenal resource.
-
Koolhand21ExcellentSuperb discussion of the border issues which can disrupt the U.K. efforts to leave the EU. Plus lots of other history, culture and pubs! Two friends having a conversation and putting effort into including facts and the like. I really enjoy every episode.
-
pamelakearneyWonderfulReally enjoying listening to this. Insightful perspective.

Brian in MA USABest Irish PodcastThe Irish passport is by far the best all around podcast I have found. No sound bites, nonsense, or partisan/political tripe. Naomi and Tim do an excellent job of weaving together both the past and present that make up today’s Ireland. They do so with honesty and integrity, clearly acknowledging their own background and history, yet also daring to understand all sides of any one issue no matter how uncomfortable that might be. This is how it should be done! I have never become a Patreon supporter until now and encourage others to help keep this great work going.
-
volineBrilliantOne of the best podcasts I've heard on *any* topic Naomi is a journalist, Tim is a historian - and between them they bring Ireland today and how it got that way. It's well-researched and the hosts are smart, educated and engaging. Irish Passport covers history and topics that are roiling Ireland and Europe at the moment. But, as William Faulkner said, "The past is never dead. It's not even past." It's true everywhere, but is especially obvious in Ireland. Thanks, Tim and Naomi.

MargueriteSolariGenuinely essential listening whether you are Irish or not! This is an absolute GEM of a podcast. I am addicted! The hosts have great, effortless chemistry - not always found in podcast-land - and are both highly knowledgeable about their subject. I would especially recommend the Famine and the Catholic Church episodes for the depth to which these mind blowing subjects are explored, but every ep is exceedingly well researched and presented, and keeps the listener happily hooked. Truly I could listen to this every day, and I’m only slightly Irish! Keep up the fantastic work, please! And thank you so much- from a devoted listener.
-
KatherynemcThanks for closing my knowledge gapThanks Naomi and Tim for this fascinating look at Ireland’s past and present. As an American with a big knowledge gap, I’m so glad I stumbled on this podcast while preparing for a trip in 2019. Started with episode one and have learned so much.

Yoshie120Great showYou are awesome!! I love the show! Keep up the good work!!

Pól PólFun, Interesting, and EducationalA great way to understand modern Ireland through the lens of history.
-
Wes CovingtonEnlighteningThis podcast has taught me a lot about Ireland. And the reality of Ireland is so much different from the popular perceptions of it in the US. It is a fascinating listen.
-
AlexandriarobMust Listen PodcastAnyone with even a fleeting interest in Ireland must listen to this fantastic broadcast. The presenters deliver well researched subject matter with a youthful and enthusiastic style. As someone who was born and educated in Ireland and now living in Washington DC, I find myself engrossed in each Podcast from minute one to the end. Well done on a great production and I hope that you keep producing such quality broadcasts for years to come.
-
Brittania26Fantastic podcastThis is a really intelligent podcast that manages to cover culture, politics, history and current events with the perfect blend of reporting, conversation and interviews. If you are even remotely interested in Ireland--or Brexit/EU affairs--you will love this podcast. But for anyone generally interested in modern history, its also a great listen. The episodes are long enough that they manage to offer a nuanced take on the topic at hand and the combo of professor (McInerney) and journalist (O'Leary) is the perfect balance. Highly recommend.
