    Nothing happens in isolation
When Vicki speaks about boundaries she always anchors the information within the context of life. She doesn’t drop seemingly random advice and then leave the listener to figure it out in their own. Vicki shares the why and the how, gives examples and really makes the process feel doable.

    Please continue!
I’ve read a lot about boundaries. Vicki does an awesome job on giving a solid foundation, then layering the information, and diving into details on how to use each of the tools she suggests. I find myself listening to a number of episodes over and over. Please keep going!

    No
I would leave less than a one but it’s not an option. You lost me at your pro vaccine ramblings and discouraging people using their critical thinking skills.

No, that’s NOT what triangulation is
I was excited to listen to my first episode and happened to choose #137. I could not finish the episode because of the incorrect way triangulation was being discussed. Triangulation is not a method of communication where you use someone else as a messenger instead of speaking directly to them. Triangulation is about coming to a decision using 3 sources of information, analogous to how physicists do. Ray Dalio explains it well in “Principles” and gives some solid examples.

    Glad to be here
For far too long I’ve considered myself to be a timid people pleaser. This podcast (along with regular therapy) have helped me realize I too can stand up for myself and use boundaries in a way that serve me. Thankful to be a part of this community.

    4 Essentials for Mastering Boundraries
I have been in counseling for a bit now and couldn’t shake off all the anger and resentment that I had bottled inside, yes I was the Codependent Queen!!! I was asking God for help. And then you divinely delivered this awesome lesson. I have listened to this episode, 142, over and over and even wrote it in my journal. The points are priceless. I can take it to my counselor now and begin to heal with clarity. I have used “power over” as a codependent and people pleaser but now I can work on Authentic Personal Power. Please keep going!!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom!!!!

    Just what I needed
The host of this podcast is helpful, professional, and insightful. I’m going through a strange time right now and the hosts’ concepts of boundaries (both in how I allow others to relate to me and vice versa) is helping me cope and plan for how I want my life to look. I hope people don't underestimate, and perhaps miss, the value of the podcast by the playful but flippant title! I’ve listened to a lot of podcasts during this stage of my life, and the content and host of this podcast get 5 stars. Thank you for your work.

    Sooo good! 🙏🏼
I just found this podcast and I’ve listen to a couple of episodes and I’ve already taken copious notes! As a woman who has constantly battled with codependency and finding her worth in other people, this is a great tool in my toolbox for building confidence and living on my own self worth! Brilliant!

I am obsessed with this podcast. Someone told me about it this Spring and I have been getting so much out of it that I went right back to the beginning. I’ve also been raving about to others. Thank you!! It’s so enlightening.

    Life Changing
This podcast has truly changed my life. My perspectives are clearer and I give a lot more thought before I react, and that allows me to maintain my power in certain situations. Mrs. Palmer is amazing and I look forward to a new episode every week. Blessings to you!

    Episode 1?
I’m really enjoying this podcast but episode 1 no longer seems to be available. Host refers to it later as essential for understanding so would like to listen to it. I also appreciate that episode numbers are placed in front of the title, which makes it easy to line them up in queue.

    Not just for women...for everyone
When I tell my friends about the Beyond Bitchy podcast, many roll their eyes. Another women’s podcast complaining about men and how they screw their lives up. But no, the BB podcast is for everyone!! I learned about this wonderful boundary learning resource at a one week retreat at the Meadows in Arizona. I admit I was skeptical at first, but WOW, what a useful podcast this is!! If you want to learn about boundary setting skills, this is the only place to go. Each episode brings a fresh look at boundaries and a variety of settings. I’ve listened to episodes over and over to learn the basic skills and how to use the boundary setting tools. I’ve gained confidence and more self esteem as I work through life’s situations. I grew up in a dysfunctional family where there were no boundaries and no one to model healthy behavior. At 62, I’m a man, finally getting healthy and “growing up”. I highly recommend Vicki and the BB podcast. Try it, you’ll see!!

    Best Podcast on Boundaries
While trying to heal betrayal trauma I have struggled learning about boundaries. This podcast gives you every detail you need to know about what boundaries are, and what they aren’t. And how to set boundaries and then hold them. I would have been lost if it wasn’t for Beyond Bitchy.

    I really enjoy this Podcast
I have learned so much about negotiating, setting and maintaining boundaries from Vicki. As a ‘survivor’ of betrayal this has been so helpful for me.

    Life Changing
I started listening almost two years ago when I was at a very low place. Beyond Bitchy (great name) really helped me get clarity and find peace on setting firm boundaries and totally changed me. I’m healthier thanks to this podcast and the free boundary clarifier. Not only that, I’ve made distance because some people simply could not respect my boundaries. The loss hurt, but I’ve gained a safe workplace, a healthy relationship, and more energy for relationships that honor both me and the other person. Most importantly, I have a better relationship with myself. 2 years later I am being stalked and harassed by someone who could not respect my boundaries back then. Seeing how my loved ones react to this man’s behavior (he’s targeting them too now) and total lack of boundaries has really woken me up to just how far I’ve come and how much I’ve saved myself by setting clear boundaries and making distance when they aren’t respected. Best of all, this podcast is helping me take care of myself and manage the stress from this ongoing harassment. Thank you Vicki Tidwell Palmer!

    Life changing and empowering.
Wow! This information and education will surely be one of the most powerful tools in my emotional “tool box”. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. This is changing lives.

    It’s helped me so much!
I started at the very first episode to learn all the basics of boundaries. I was shocked at how little I actually knew and am so, so grateful for this resource to expand my skills. I love the part that says, “I hope you can get the space you need and the connection you crave,” it puts boundaries in a positive light.

    Great information.
I was searching for a podcast to listen to while trying to deal with the feeling of angst that I get while trying to deal with my mom....especially around the holidays. This has been so helpful already.
  • itsfalka
    Helpful!
Love the podcast, but I have to be honest lately I’m struggling with the weird obsession about men vs women. Can we just talk about people? I truly appreciate the monthly episode about women and boundaries because it is a sad reality that women have their boundaries violated FAR more than males and male presenting people. But the way I see it, if we frame boundaries talk in a “this is what women are like” and “this is what men are like” we are a) erasing nonbinary people, and b) creating this way of thinking that is ridiculously black and white, when there is a world of nuance in between that we’re leaving out. Besides that, and perhaps Vicki’s privilege showing a little too much every now and then, it’s a wonderful podcast that has taught me an immense amount and given me perspective and many tools which have helped me improve my relationships across the board.

    Good tips
Your podcast has validated some boundaries I made due to intense feelings, and I’ve gotten some great tips. Thank you. I’m just wondering why you don’t do the intro yourself? Yours isn’t the only female podcast where there is a male voice at the beginning. I look for female voices specifically. Thanks again.

    Needs an interviewer
There’s a lot of good stuff in here but I find the format of one person just speaking a bit hard to follow. It sounds a bit rambly. I feel an interviewer that could structure the content more would help convey the information in a more digestible format.

    Life changing!
I have found this podcast to be life changing for me. I feel like I’ve been going through a bit of a mid life crisis lately and looking for ways I can start to live the life I desire instead of being such a people pleaser. I love how she simplifies the concepts & steps of boundary work. I’m only 12 sessions in & cant wait to listen to more. I’m telling everyone I know about it. Thanks for sharing your gifts with us!

    Concerned about stigma
Overall, I think this podcast is good, and I’m learning helpful information, but it’s always disappointing when any health care professional let alone a mental health care professional uses stigmatizing terms like “drug addict” when describing people who use drugs. There are style guides available to discuss and describe people who have substance use disorder (SUD), a diagnosable mental illness on the DSM-V. Also, literature shows the negative effects of stigma that language like “addict” and “alcoholic” perpetuates, including shutting people out of health care that people so desperately need.

    Incredible
I absolutely love this... I needed the Avoiders one big time! I struggle with close people in my life who are and this was such good truth to hear. Thank you for sharing your eloquent intelligence. I have been reading the book called Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend but I love that I can get a quick straight to the point principles and practical tips for learning the art of boundaries. This is just brilliant and I love everything to do with psychology and how people tick and why and personalities and how we grew up. I am just listening to it constantly so I can learn as much as I can, as I need them in my own life being an extreme extrovert, I feel my type are those who need to learn boundaries the most. Thank you again and I adore this podcast!

    Absolutely eye opening!!
Coming from a narcissist upbringing and having several (at the least) unhealthy relationships.... this has been so eye opening to hear how I can keep myself healthy and not try to control others. This has been extremely helpful and I have only listened to 3 episodes! Thank you so much!!!!
  • budgetgrl
    Eye opening
Coming from an upbringing with a narcissistic parent, boundaries were always crossed. As an adult, the lack of healthy boundaries were a huge problem and I did not know just how much I continually let everyone in my life cross them. This podcast gives you real life tools and meaningful insight on how to clarify what is appropriate when it comes to boundaries. I would love an episode to listen to that shows a habitual boundary crosser how to turn there behavior around. My DH grew up with a mother who does this constantly and I’m afraid he thinks this behavior is normal. Would love for him to hear how it effects people around him.
