I am single widower and active in my church. I want to get back into dating and eventually get married. I am also 61 years old and didn’t know quite how to jump back in. My therapist said look for podcasts and websites for dating and just see if it fits what you’re looking for. Even though your podcast addresses, mainly younger people, I found your Advice to be helpful and to help me be more confident in approaching dating in this new phase of life.

As a licensed therapist that’s also in the dating world, this podcast has been so helpful and created so much hope. They provide research-based information and through the lens of Christ.

This podcast is great if you are dating or married but not so much if you are single looking to date. The advice offered on this podcast is mostly geared towards those already married or in a relationship. The advice relative to singles mostly seems to be the cliche overused advice offered by family and friends.

I was excited to add a new Christian/dating podcast to my weekly listens and thought this would be a good fit. I listened to the most recent episodes and thought they were pretty good. I was scrolling through some older episodes and saw they did one titled “you can be gay and a Christian”. Lol what?? The Bible is very clear about sexuality and that’s not it. I can’t take dating advice from people whose theology is so clearly messed up. They can do better.

Why are there over 250 episodes on dating!?! People, focus on your relationship with God and prepare yourself to be a spouse, not a bf or gf. Idk how anyone listens to garbage like this.

Seems like they ran out of things to talk about a couple years ago and they’re just pumping out new material so they can keep getting support from sponsors. A couple episodes are super helpful, but you have to sift through *a lot* of fluff to find them.

“I went along with what everyone around me was thinking and believing” - direct quote from Kate in the latest podcast episode about how “modern Christianity” has been putting her in a box and her (likely very leftist leaning) college education “opened her mind”. It’s a shame you decided to bring politics agendas into a Christian dating podcast. Unfollowing.

I’m on a new spiritual walk & was looking for a good Christian-dating podcast & I hit the bullseye with Heart of Dating podcast! Definitely love the episodes, very encouraging, real, honest, and filled with faith. God bless!

This is such a great podcast, as a Christian, I love their viewpoint, but honestly even non-Christians should listen as it’s interesting topics and great advice - has truly changed the way I view things and the way I dated!

I have been on soooo many dates in the last few years, tried to broaden my preferences, make the most of dating apps, etc. This podcast has been a literal Godsend for me! It has been wildly helpful, encouraging, and convicting as I try to learn how to date WELL. I noticed some 1 star reviews because people didn’t agree with everything guests had to say or because there’s a lot of ads…ok, same. I don’t love EVERY episode, but that’s okay. They’re human. Also, there’s a great fast forward button?? 😂 bottom line - the vast majority of what is spoken here is incredibly helpful and fruitful. Also this show helped me stay on the apps long enough to *find my husband*!! Success story!!! Hahaha

Boring, nothing new

I only found out about Heart of Dating in March when a friend recommended it to me. And I felt that there was going to be a long road ahead of me when I realized how many episodes were ahead of me. So I have been binging the episodes during work hours at the factory, and there have been a lot of thought provoking topics that have made me ponder about what I believe on dating, life and in general, and there has ben topics that I have been uncomfortable and some that I disagree with, but I can see their side of the story and where they are coming from in love.

I love Kait and JJ’s outlook on relationships and I have shared this podcast with my sister because I WISH I could have had this insight when I was single!!

I've been a listener of the Heart of Dating podcast for about four to five years, and it's truly a must for any Christian who is single. As a 30 something year-old woman navigating singleness in today's world, this podcast was transformative. It changed how I viewed dating as a Christian, giving me the freedom to date and enjoy the process. It also provided invaluable guidance on setting physical and emotional boundaries, which can be incredibly confusing in today's society. Kate and JJ are so friendly and relatable. Though I haven't met them personally, I feel like I know them. Kate's vulnerability is especially admirable. I'm thankful for this podcast because it played a significant role in helping me meet, date, and eventually marry my husband. I highly recommend it to singles in their 20s and early 30s, as there's not enough content tailored for this demographic.

I have followed Kait for years and love this podcast and the evolution of it. She and JJ care so much about the content they discuss and they put a lot of time and research into the topics. Also just love that they share personal stuff that can help singles and dating!

I tried listening to this podcast from someone who recommended. This was not for me. As soon as I heard online dating I was completely turned off. As someone who has been on and off the apps for a good amount of time, I can honestly say that you’re more than likely not going to find “the one.” Although I did like the idea of being creative on a first date I think coffee dates are just as fine. Low pressure and just having a conversation. Maybe I’ll give it another listen one day but this was hard to listen to unfortunately.

Perfectly fine if you’re still holding onto Christian ideals from the late ‘90s-early ‘00s. A friend shared the show with me, and I listened. I tried, it’s hard out here, what can I learn? Nothing here in 2024 if you’ve gone to therapy or even thought about deconstruction.

Kait gives good advice for Christian singles. She provides positivity & hope towards godly dating. I’m not sure why JJ is always on the podcast now that they are married & have a baby. If kait needs time with the baby than make it a biweekly podcast instead of leaving JJ with the mic.

Heart of Dating is a great collection of necessary conversations to help encourage and prepare single Christians in the realm of dating and relationships. It’s been said before (on this podcast even) that we go to college and get degrees in a field that we might not even end up employed in, but we are not educating ourselves on the topic that the vast majority of people will spend the rest of their lives participating in – romantic partnership. I’m grateful for this podcast and the other resources I’ve discovered through Heart of Dating that are helping me build a good foundation for a future relationship. The Mia Fields episode (225) is an incredible testimony, and I look forward to hearing more like it on this show!

As a Christian, who has struggled for a long time with dating, and what that looks like as a Christian, this podcast has been really helpful. I first discovered Heart of Dating when I heard Kait and JJ on the Kingdom Sexuality Podcast, and the episode was so touching and insightful and helped me so much. Since then I have been following Heart of Dating and it helps me so much. I don’t listen to all their podcast episodes, but I do follow them on Instagram and they have so much good insight!

I don’t want to take off any stars because I really do love this podcast and the truth but wanted to share one possible insight. Kait is genuine and seems like a sweetheart. Since JJ has been added to the show, it seems like he is slowly trying to take over completely. Being added into the “created by” part of intro was the first thing that rubbed me the wrong way (umm no…Kait created this long before you, buddy!). I have also noticed he is quick to talk over Kait, always has to have the last word (even over their guests) and the introduction of “men only” episodes has been frustrating because where are our “women only” episodes WITHOUT JJ and his loudmouth? Thanks for all you’ve done to encourage singles, Kait!! I hope JJ can take a step back and let you (and Jesus) shine more instead of himself.

I just went through my first relationship and painful breakup. Shortly after, someone sent me this podcast. I’ve been listening to every episode from the beginning to current! The whole time I’m listening I think, “That Explains Everything!!!” Kait & JJ know how to interview the best mentors. I have learned so much! This has brought me laughter, encouragement, hope, and healing. Thank you, Jesus, for HOD!

There is so many amazing things this show has brought to light! From much needed wisdom on big matters and relationship essentials, to the nitty gritty and small things that go a long way in how you love the person you are dating, this show is filled with insight. Especially as a guy, so many of the things that make women feel loved, pursued, and honored just aren’t talked about, and so it’s understandable that guys fail in that area. But Kait and JJ give great advice and practical tips for how to date well.

I got into HOD after a painful and taxing breakup, and while in a season of thinking I would never find God’s purpose in the hurt. In comes HOD and I start finding the courage to ask God the big questions and get to the bottom of my purpose - not only in dating, but also in the grand scheme of life and ministry. Now, two years later I’m dating with purpose and with love, I’m thriving in ministry, and I’ve found peace and joy in the life that God has given me. A huge amount of thanks goes to the team at HOD!

I am grateful for the guests you have on the podcast, the book recommendations, scripture and both of your personalities are easy to connect with. I rated the podcast a 4 because the recent patreon special podcast about What we think about Celebrity Pastors didn’t sit with me right. I think that at the end of the day our relationship with God will help us discern which speakers and Pastors will help us in our walk with the Lord and bring us closer to Him. I don’t hate or dis any Celebrity preacher or speaker because they are still a child of God and as a believer I am to love others as I love myself. I think highlighting the “Celebrity” speaker or pastor that has really helped each of you would be really cool to know because their knowledge, wisdom, lived experience could help someone else listening. The is the first time I’ve heard Christian dating conversations take such an emotionally availably, non-dismissive, and honest approach to the struggle of what it means to be single, especially long term. I don’t normally write reviews but this podcast made me realize that I’m not alone especially when it comes to long term singleness. Kait (and now JJ) has truly covered EVERYTHING when it comes to Christian dating. She balances practical guidance with spiritual guidance. I found the HOD podcast about a month ago and I have bulldozed though season ten. I cannot even begin to explain the amount of healing that has been opened up. At the age of 28, I am finally recognizing and allowing myself to accept the fact that my relationship with physical touch is deeply affected by what I learned from a very young age. I’m in a really lonely/tough season right now after my engagement ended last year….but your podcasts have lifted my spirits, shared in my mindset about biblical dating/marriage, and have given me hope again. Love how they use scripture behind what is being said and opens the mind to a different POV. Deconstructs and Reconstructs the mind in a way that we can get rid of old mentality of gen z dating and purity culture. Has helped me mature and be more honest with myself.
