I’m a daily listener…but lately there’s been so much random banal “news” about Highland Park? LITERALLY no one cares…except for highland park folks. Maybe they should have their own podcast about their 18 million dollar houses. The rest of us want to listen to the news.

Sloppy and unprofessional podcast and reporting in general. Often takes national comments on the state and state leaders and repeats them without understanding the situation or adding any value. If I wanted national news, I would go to a national source. Do your own homework! And don’t just repeat what someone else says, it makes you look like a fool.

Can we please get a replacement for Mary Hildebrandt? In this past week, her pronunciation has been horrible. It’s obvious she is a voice actor not from this area. She pronounced the restaurant Luby’s as “lubbys” and the Texas city Pearland as “Pearl-land.” I would expect more from a professional.

I’m deleting this podcast. Now you have advertising on a 5 minute podcast?????? WOWWWWWW!!! Mary Hildebrandt is trash and constantly mispronounces names and CITIES. This is the Dallas Morning News right? Could you try finding local people to read the news on a podcast? FYI that’s not what podcasts are for. You’re not supposed to read off lines, it’s not television.

I start each day by listening to The Dallas Morning News’ headline news. It provides just what I need to get rolling and directs me to the articles I want to read in more depth! Mary and Alex do a good job... Just enough, yet not too much. Thanks!

I’ve really enjoyed this coverage of the Amber Guyger trial. The courtroom descriptions and brief overviews were appreciated, and the content is fair and narrative in nature, completely unbiased. Thank you for this!

The news briefs are too short to bother with downloading and deleting; I’m listening for the Amber Guyger trial updates. Daily coverage is good but Jennifer Emily’s obvious bias against Guyger is unprofessional and distracting. Regardless of what exactly happened, Botham Jean’s death was a senseless tragedy. We all know this. We don’t need a local reporter to play up the sympathy angle and relay to us every time his grieving parents cry, or to editorialize Guyger’s personal life and fashion choices. Emily says things like “Guyger talked about HER feelings and how this affected HER” in an accusatory way, like this is proof that Guyger is making the trial about herself. Then they’ll play a clip where the attorney literally asks Guyger “what are your feelings? How did this affect you?” and she answers because she is on trial and has to. What is the goal of this opinion piece disguised as news? Please stick to the facts of the case and trial. They’re much more useful. Thanks.

I love this roundup. It’s just a few quick stories each day and they are split up into their own files so I can skip the ones I’m not interested in.

The podcast used to be a 2 minute briefing of Texas news. Now it’s often less than 30 seconds and only one news item. Why so short? It’s disappointing.
