I can’t remember how I came across this podcast, but I have been listening to GD since 2018. It’s actually the only podcast I listen to as I end up spending quite a bit of time reading the books mentioned in the conversations. I look forward to every episode and especially once the overarching theme of the them evolved more into decolonization versus sustainability, it’s impossible to finish an episode without taking away something (oftentimes many things). I love that Kamea asks very thoughtful and well-researched questions and oftentimes lets us go on a learning journey with her when she briefly mentions her feelings or perceptions about the topic of discussion. Having an excellent interviewer highlights the work of those she interviews even more. There’s a humility with GD that I think a lot of podcasts are missing and makes GD that much more special. I also want to add that I love this podcast because a lot of these conversations are not easy to have and it’s comforting to know that there are other people passionate about having them.

    Love this
I love this podcast so much and it always opens up my imagination to different ways of thinking and does the important work of challenging my biases. I would love to hear an episode on the concept of fair trade/direct trade whenever you get the chance!

    thank you Kamea
ive been listening to this podcast since 2020 having listened to nearly every episode, even the ones from before 2020. ive also been a patreon member. this show has been my oasis esp during tough times, from my days as an environmental major undergrad to now a young professional in business sustainability consulting and still a community organizer. what Kamea has created with Green Dreamer is truly special—the way Kamea fearlessly challenge the dominant narratives that hold us back and inspire us to dream big about what's possible is so powerful. the incredible range of community and thought leaders Kamea brings on the show have opened my mind and heart in ways I never expected. the messages Kamea shares about building a world based on mutual respect, trust, reciprocity, and real relationships have stuck with me and shaped how I see things. while to be totally honest, lately, I've been struggling to finish episodes because they sometimes leave me feeling more hopeless than inspired to take action. realizing that so much of modern Western society is built on a messed-up foundation that needs a total overhaul can be really overwhelming. ive been aware of this reality and had struggles with eco-anxiety from feeling small and never doing enough. but it was not until re-listening to some episodes from early days (ep.100-200) that i realized how much i missed the calls to actions and forward-looking vibe the show used to have💕 i just wanted to send Kamea a big virtual hug and a congratulation , letting you know how much your work means to me and so many others. as we keep pushing forward, let's remember to celebrate the wins, no matter how small, and draw strength from our amazing community of changemakers.🍄🙌🎋✨💚

Jewel of a podcast ~ always worth listening, even if topic is familiar
Super appreciate the variety of topics, perspectives, and framing of questions for conversations unlike other “green” podcasts. Valuable is the openness and inclusivity to various topics, information and narratives within. With gratitude to Kamea for creating and leading this podcast which benefits exponentially from her depth and breadth of knowledge.

Greatful that I stumbled upon this gem!
I've only listened to a few episodes so far, but they were very restorative and inspiring. Thank you for helping me come to understand how to shift from a problem-focused paradigm to a dreamer-focused one.

A deeply rooted podcast and community
I started listening to Green Dreamer in late summer 2020, shortly after graduating from college, at a time when I was looking for something to serve as a substitute for the community of critical thinkers that I once had and belonged to back in college. I was an advocate for the environment when I started listening to Green Dreamer, but my views and perspectives regarding Earth’s natural systems, human interactions within and with other species, and modern society’s perceptions and relationship with the rest of the natural world, have drastically changed (for the better!) As Kamea and her podcast have evolved, so have I. Kamea: I am forever grateful to you for leading me down this path and creating this community. And oh the countless times you’ve blown my mind! Potential listener: get ready for some jaw-dropping moments as Kamea and her guests invite you to unravel the scary complexities of mainstream society. This is not your basic podcast.

    Intelligent, heart-filled conversations
I enjoy the depth of this podcast with its diversity of guests and topics. Kamea is a stellar interviewer and asks thought-provoking questions while also practicing deep listening. As a result, I’ve grown in my understanding of ecology, the human spirit and true wellness. I also appreciate the lack of ads with this being a community-sponsored show.
  • TobolowskyPhile
Intelligent and politically and spiritually aware
People think “radical” means progressive or fringe, but it really means “back to the root.” That constant sense of rootedness and purpose is only one of the things this profound podcast gets right.

I am in awe of the amazing guests Kamea has on each week. I learn so much in every episode and am so grateful to be able to listen to these very thoughtful, heartfelt, inspiring, and thought-provoking, belief-challenging episodes. Thanks so much for sharing this wealth of knowledge and experiences with the rest of the world!

Everyone should be listening to this podcast
I genuinely spend many hours of my days listening to this show while I paint. I have learned so much and have been moved in ways I can’t thank Green Dreamer enough for. This show is crucial and everything should be listening.

The way, the map, the vision, the word
I’ve only just begun my green dream journey and already my life has changed. I really really mean it. For so long I’ve sought a “first step” on the path to active environmentalism and had little to no luck. Kamea Chayne and her guests say what my heart and soul have been thirsting for and I walk away more whole and inspired to share/serve after each episode. Plant this series in our heart and watch the wisdom, knowledge and empathy bloom.

    Truly a one-of-a-kind resource
I started listening to Green Dreamer regularly earlier this year (I’m a performance artist and an environmental justice organizer in the Midwest) and I cannot count the number revelatory guests, featured books, discussions and resources I have returned to for further research - all because of Kamea’s brilliant framing of a multitude of issues that should compel folks from numerous walks of life. Major respect to the Green Dreamer team.

    Favourite podcast of all time
Every two episodes I find myself mind blown. There are so many things that must be analyzed and deconstructed. Kamea leads the way in a warm and non judgmental but efficient manner. Kamea Chayne is an amazing interviewer
This podcast is essential listening to decolonize your mind. It is a truly intersectional, creative & radical podcast. Kamea is a great host/interviewer because she asks the right questions & allows you to get the most you could from the many brilliant people featured on this show. I’ve learned so many things from this podcast & proud to support them on Patreon!

I thought I knew...but there is so much more
I consider myself pretty into the sustainability movement and for the most part felt pretty competent in a wide variety of environmental issues. However, this podcast has taught me so much and how I really was only aware of a fraction of the issues at hand. I highly, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

feels like talking to a friend
I love this podcast because of it’s informative nature and the scope and breath of knowledge I gain from each person interviewed, certainly, but I also love this podcast because I think Kamea is an amazing human being. Critical yet empathetic, extremely intelligent yet humble. Thank you Kamea ♥️

    An AMAZING resource!
This podcast is absolutely profound. I LOVE that it is so candid, so honest, so educational. I am learning so much from listening to Green Dreamer on a regular basis. Thank you so much Green Dreamer for being such an inspiration in my journey as an environmental activist.

Honestly, very quickly became my fave pod!
I stumbled upon this podcast randomly one day last summer 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. And since I had not heard of it I came in with a unbiased view. The more I listened the more educated and invited I felt. Kamea (the host) is incredibly inclusive, warm, intelligent, and always wanting to dig deeper on issues of social/environmental justice within the big-picture activism scene. She’s a very involved advocate herself and truly “practices what she preaches”. This podcast covers sooo many topics and even the early episodes Kamea has check-ins with the listeners to feel more welcomed and encouraged! Absolutely recommend this podcast to literally everyone! 10/10

    so much learning
This podcast provides so much learning and perspective. Love it!
  • MaryLovesTravel
Overall informative but episode 294 was a dud!
I have listened to almost all of her episodes and although I don’t always agree with the guest’s point of view, I do respect what they have to say. Brandon Running Bear Harrell was an exception. He appeared very incoherent - jumping from side to side in his arguments - in the process offending pretty much anyone who wasn’t just like him. Again - overall I like the podcast but it is the outlier nature of this episode which forced me to comment.
  • Hrsl2223
    It’s fine, just not realistic.
Host seems to not understand how certain things work and instead voices a bias that’s unrealistic sometimes. I wanted to like it and listened for weeks trying but just got annoyed.
  • mitrruth89
    Unbelievably broad and inspirational
Kamea is unlike any other eco-influencer. Period. Her knowledge and obvious research of the vast array of global environmental issues is honestly unparalleled. Her unique cultural vantage point includes indigenous communities and solutions in a way that is empowering and largely missing in this conversation space. Kamea for climate czar ASAP.

    Needed and Grateful
I am so upset that I have only just found this podcast. It expertly ties all of our human issues as problems that also affect the environment. The overall impact of the way we live our human lives politically, socially, culturally affects the environment. Which of course ties into the very basics of Indigenous life, that we are a part of nature and we belong and are accountable to the land.
  • Emma Michelle B
    Necessary and relevant
If I could give this podcast a higher rating, I would. As someone who works for a federal land agency, it has been incredibly enlightening to learn about the history of environmentalism through the lens of diverse and unapologetic perspectives. Even if you aren’t an environmentalist, this podcast challenges the ways in which we think and relate to the natural world. I am always left wondering how much I don’t know after each episode.
