Still an adventure scifi but has sweet coziness that really stands out in the podsphere. I had concerns with the goofy main character following THAT trope but he's full of surprises and nuance, truly a lovable goof.

Like a fresh of breath air, this show continues to bring delight and sci-fi whimsy every episode so that by the end you are smiling ear to ear. The world needs more happy sci fi to light the way. Keep it up!

Star tripper is a relaxing podcast that is lighthearted and funny while still bringing the sci-fi. Hope there are many many more seasons to come.

I have a hard time finding things that I like so finding something that's actually feel good and funny and well written has been so nice. Especially in the SciFi genre which seems to go really sad or dystopian too often for my tastes. So thanks so much to all the talented people putting it out. (I really can't agree with the reviewer who says this is like Rick and Morty as that's one of the most depressing things I've ever seen and I had to stop watching that or get in a real funk but then I'm an emotion sponge).

I absolutely LOVE this podcast! I stumbled upon it and was instantly hooked! I binged through all the episodes and now can’t wait for the next one! I love following each zany adventure of Feston Pyxis, and love how immersive the podcast is. Feston breaks the 4th wall and really makes you feel like you’re going on this adventure with him & his trusty pals Proxy & Serena! More please! ❤️

The lead character is really fun and likable, makes me smile a lot. The guest characters (not sure what to call them) are really fun too. It’s a romp and an adventure. But season 2 picks up a co-host who is the most horrible, boring type in that... that standard way people are boring. Sniping, constantly irritated, dishes it out but can’t take it. The archetype’s super common for some reason and it just turns the travelogue into a job. Or a series of mandatory quests. Takes that sense of adventure and just rips it out of the show. Everything’s “we have to do this” or “we have to do that”. It’s like adventuring with a bland office manager. That’s not an adventure!!! That’s work! Getting away from all that was supposed to be the heart of the show! Literally why Feston sold his stuff and bought a ship! WHAT HAPPENED!!?!

Funny entertaining well done

I’m not gonna lie to you I was in a really bad place when I started listening to Star tripper. It was like 3 am and all I wanted was a distraction from thinking about my academic future. I stumbled on to this podcast and decided to give it a listen and let me tell you I was not disappointed. The sheer amount of happiness and hope the trailer filled me with was unbelievable. It’s not a complicated story but that’s what I think makes it work so well. It’s just about an alien and his ship traveling around the universe. Along the way they help people, get in to trouble, make friends with pirates, and even crash a wedding. The acting is amazing, the sound design is wonderful, and most of all you can tell that there is kindness at the heart of this show. It’s easily in my top 10 favorite podcast.

I loved the episode where there’s a contest to see how far you can launch a person using fast growing grass. Very fun podcast overall.

First podcast that I called my favorite, and the one I used to introduce podcasts to my girlfriend. Super excited that season 2 is finally coming!

Characters are a bit flat, but music is excellent and episodes are a nice spot of silly fun in a sad, bleak existence

The sound design, superb. The voice acting, astonishing. The world building, wonderful! The first episode is slightly dull, but Star Tripper gets better with every episode. I wish more people will discover this podcast!

This is a breath of fresh air and the music is wonderful especially after a bunch of sci-fi podcasts that are “Oh no, the government is evil and it’s up to this group of rebels to fix the universe!”

this is such a lovely show! i love audio fiction a lot, especially sci-fi, and this show is really funny. and the music is great too.

I was underwhelmed. It seems like it’s a high school project. The story is bad, you don’t care about the characters. There’s NEVER any tension. The humor falls flat. It’s just bad. Acting is good Production values are decent Final verdict: don’t waste your time on this podcast. But do check out Mission to XYZZ, it’s what this podcast should aspire to be.

I so wish there were more shows like this: Fun Sci-Fi Adventure. Every episode makes me smile and there is never a dull moment. I really hope they make a second season.

I am an avid podcast listener. Specifically, an avid sci-fi comedy podcast listener. Shows like Mission to Zyxx, Journey to the Stars, Frequency Earth, Eos 10, and many, many others. This show is by far the most wholesome, funniest, well thought out show of them all. I absolutely LOVE Star Tripper. The fact that this show hasn’t got like a billion trillion five star reviews is a complete tragedy. Please, pleaseeee bring us season two and fast. I need more. This show brings me light and happiness. I love it. Thanks guys.

Everything is great but one thing stands out the most, and thats the music. The music on this podcast is easily one of the best I’ve heard on any podcast.

Easily one of my favorites now. I binged the whole first season in one day. I can’t wait for more. Feston’s adventures make me want to just drive endlessly with his level optimism and propensity for adventure and see what happens next.

To me it felt like Guardians of the Galaxy crosses with Star War but with a light heart. I loved it from the first episode. Very entertaining

I actually stumbled across this podcast while waiting for Mission To Zyxx to update. Oddly enough this could fit quite nicely as a prequel series. Aside from the occasional guest who sounds like they’re reading their lines, this is one zowie series! The music is amazing and really sets the scene. A++

My favorite podcast. It may not be the 'actual' best audio drama podcast you will listen to, but it is very likely to be your favorite! It is absurdly joyful and endearing! The first episode is really great but somehow it gets even better in the second and then even the third episode!!! I was taking 30 minute walks with my dog before this podcast but when I started it I began taking at least two hour walks because I literally couldn’t stop listening! Thank you for helping me in a time of depression. I actually cried a few times listening to this; it helped me in a time when I was in major depression. It is an extremely joyful podcast! Julian Mundy was a staff writer for Ars Paradoxica, and does something completely different with Star Tripper. Heavily influenced by Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, this is the story of a guy who decides to buy a starship and travel to have fun adventures. Ian McGuown perfectly conveys the upbeat try anything energy of the lead character.

This is a very happy take on the sci-fi genre. It is wonderful to listen to, adventurous, and joyful.

I've binged most of season 1 today and I'm definitely a fan! I love how positive it is and how diverse the characters are. The story is super cool and full of adventure. Honesly anything from the Whisperforge is bound to be great! (and Ian McQuown's voice is always nice to listen to!)

I fell in love with Ian McQuown’s voice on The Bright Sessions, so I went ahead and downloaded this one knowing quite literally nothing about it except he was on it. This show. Is so. Delightful. It’s got a cinnamon roll hero (my favorite), a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy flavor, and each episode is standalone enough that it’s truly excellent for those times when I can only listen to ONE episode at a time—I always WANT to listen to more, but I truly appreciate a show that makes it easy for me to listen, go get some work done, and then treat myself to another episode on my break without having my distracted at work by cliffhangers and part-1-of-2s.

What do you get when you cross the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy with a Saturday morning cartoon? You get StarTripper!! This is an adorably positive show that will have you smiling, laughing, and tearing up. It may even teach you a life lesson in the end.

I throughly enjoy this podcast and have relistened (is that a word)? to it about ten times this month alone!!! Really great production and overall a great story arc!!

Show is a little like futurama humor with a lot of action

I just found this podcast, and I can’t stop listening! It’s so much fun! Everything from the music, Feston’s upbeat attitude, to the background atmosphere gives this podcast a wonderfully positive vibe! And the main character is so funny! It’s like a little cherry on top of a delicious Sunday!

I wish there were more podcasts like this one. I’m a podcast omnivore with more podcasts on my list than I can actually keep up with. When I need a palate cleanser from my horror shows, newsy stuff, and heavy history, StarTripper is there to brighten my day. Many reviews mention that this show is “sweet” or “cute,” but I think there’s enough adventure and character development to make it a quality show for discerning listeners. Kids would probably love this, but it doesn’t feel like a kid show. I could imagine I’m on Star Trek when I listen to Feston’s adventures.

This charming little comedy is surprisingly genuine and sincere. Love Proxy and her development, which is clear even in this first season. I can't wait to see what this team makes next.

I discovered StarTripper!! quite serendipitously; in fact, Mr. McQuown himself following me on Instagram was the reason I found myself listening to the pilot! I thought it sounded like something that would be nice for easy-listening interim between the other shows I follow, and oh hell was I so right! The pilot had me hooked, and it’s only gotten better from there! The guest appearances of familiar voices from my absolute favorite podcast (Wolf 359) and the heavy sprinkling of semi-subtle Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy references only increased my love for this whimsical, adventurous program. The penultimate episode has to be my favorite so far, and I’m so excited for Season 2 (whenever that may come)!

I adore this podcast. It’s far and away the happiest podcast I listen to, and it never fails to give me a mood boost when I need it. It’s a romp through the stars where the adventure is always fun and the ending is always bright. We need more of this sort of positivity in today’s world.
