Mad HenNew caretaker with a lot to learn!I decided, a few weeks ago, to take a break from retirement and do something productive. I wanted to be helpful, so I started working part-time at a memory care unit in an assisted living facility. Having NO experience in the matter, once I made my choice, I started binge listening to this podcast (as well as one other) and watching You Tube videos on the subject. I started work last month and having the knowledge I gained from you has been helpful beyond words! I see other caretakers who get upset and tell me about residents who are “difficult,” but thanks to you, as a brand new employee, I am often able to diffuse the situation. I just wish new caretakers were trained on how to do their jobs, vs. just being thrown into the mix.

Optimistic followerLearn noWTerrific clearly explained Alzheimer’s genes but also other late onset dementias. I’m a care taker of an 81 year old man who has suddenly become afflicted with rapid dementia. These podcasts have helped me tremendously. Younger people need to pay attention because they can make changes now.
