    Stimulating and useful!
I am an occupational therapist with 25 years of experience. I work with clients with a wide variety of diagnoses including CVA, TBI and other neurological disorders. My job is to help people become more independent in their activities of daily living. In order to do this I have to address their functional cognition. This podcast helps me keep up with current practices and developments in the field.

    Something wrong
There is something deeply and profoundly wrong with the mental health field. It’s primary goal is to make people submit to an insane world, usually through drugs aka medications. Our society is insane not the individual. These people profit from the insanity.

Interesting interview. I listen as a former military, airline and hobby flier. And, married to a Neuro Psyc. I would only make one correction to the description of the FAA medical classifications. A First Class medical is required for operators of (scheduled) 121 carriers. This is basically the airlines, but not limited to people carriers. The big freight companies (Fedex and UPS) pilots require the same 1st class FAA medical certificate. Nice work!

This podcast is by far one of the most interesting, relevant, and helpful tools for me as a current grad student! I recommend it to anyone interested in healthcare whether you’re a student or practicing clinician :) John and Ryan are hilarious and present dense topics in a way that makes for easy listening in addition to the immaculate sound quality (cheers, John). I just got the book and can’t wait to dive into that, too! Thanks for the awesome content!

I’m currently double majoring in biology and psychology with a minor in neuroscience, and my end goal is to be a clinical neuropsychologist. Listening to these episodes has proved EXTREMELY helpful in my understanding of the field, and more importantly, how to get there. Thank you for enhancing my understanding of this career!

Excellent Resource...and Good PR Representatives for Neuropsychology
Love what these guys have done. A really informative evidence-based podcast bringing on the experts in our field to provide a consistently quality treatment of such diverse topics!! I do appreciate this resource as relatively passive and enjoyable professionally related experience. That is, I listen to all of them at least once. For those that are particularly salient for me, I re-listen and sometimes take notes to further refine my knowledge and practices. Very exciting now with some availability of CEUs thru their partnership with INS. Good job, guys!!

    Thank you!
This is such a useful podcast, thank you for your work! I find it helpful as an early career psychologist in my applied and other professional work. I especially like how your introductions provide a review of terms. As a topic idea, I'd be interested in learning more about assessment of neurocognition in serious mental illness across the lifespan, espeically with aging adults. Thanks again!

    Excellent Neuropsych Podcast!!
Excellent, excellent podcast. I am brushing up on my neuropsych knowledge in preparation for my next training endeavor, and this podcast contributed to my efforts without being monotone or boring. John and Ryan strike a nice balance between being evidence based and informative while still being entertaining. I enjoy the occasional dry humor and that the hosts poke fun at each other. It's exciting to see our generation start to take the reigns in the field!!

I have been trying to find a podcast to help me through my time as a student to really hear more things on this field because it is up&coming more and more people are interested as I am but not many have the access to this information of what neuropsychology is. Thank you for making this podcast and thank you for sharing your perspectives and allowing us to here your stories while working as students. Can’t wait to here more!!!

Thank you guys for making such an exciting, intriguing, and accessible podcast!

    Excellent resource
Very helpful for those interested in neuropsychology as a career. It would be helpful to hear about the following topics: what does the grad program look like on a day to day basis in different phases of training, the non traditional student’s perspective ( prior degree in a different area, with a family), contrasting PhD and psy d, and day to day working perspective ( site, eval vs therapy hours, documentation, clinic vs hospital) thanks for all you do!
  • Surak2137
    Great podcast!
As a clinical neuropsychology graduate student, this podcast provides both general and specific information about important topics related to our field. I also like that these episodes are relevant to other disciplines.

    Amazing Resource!
This podcast has been a phenomenal resource for me as a fifth year doctoral student in the midst of internship interview season. Not only was the episode on internship very informative, but other special topics such as pediatric cancer were a great way to brush up on populations that I haven't had extensive experience with yet (but hope to!). Thank you for creating this podcast and keep up the great work!!

I hope it catches on and they keep going because there’s SO much they could do with this. I appreciate that they’ve taken the risk and initiative to do this. Bravo!

I recently stumbled across this podcast and I have not been able to stop listening. I sincerely appreciate the work John and Ryan are doing! This is such an excellent format to present these topics, and the conversations are incredibly engaging. Fantastic podcast!
Loving the topics so far. Great listen for those interested in neuropsychology - from the grad student to the board certified clinician. My only suggestion would be to not split up the continued topics two weeks apart (unless they are longer than 90 minutes). Can’t wait to hear what’s next!

Great Source of Neuropsychological Knowledge for All Levels
This podcast has been a wonderful review of many aspects of neuropsychology for me but I've also really valued how John and Ryan delve into specializations within the field (neuroimaging, pediatric oncology, etc.) as well! I just finished a Master's Degree in clinical neuropsychology in Barcelona, Spain so the episodes are serving as great reminders of topics I learned in those classes as well as introducing me to new and exciting concepts within the neuropsych world. Ryan and John, thanks for the time and effort you put into this podcast and I'm looking forward to the coming episodes!

    Neuropsych Info on the go
I recently stumbled upon this podcast while looking for a neuropsychology podcast to listen to on my daily commute. I am a neuropsychology graduate student. I loved the Pediatric Neuropsych episode. It was really helpful to hear from people in the field and where they think the future of the field is going. Keep up the great work!
  • joseac13
    Great podcast!
Really excited to see a neuropsychology focused pod! I am a research fellow applying to clinical neuropsychology programs at the moment and it's always interesting to hear people discuss neuropsych in a more casual setting - and to hear that neuropsychologists are loving what they do!
  • woeisdead
    So excited!!
I’m very excited to be able to have this podcast. I am a college student that recently decided neuropsychology was the field I want to get into. Since it’s in such a narrow field when compared to other fields of psychology (like a clinical psychologist), I was fearful that I’d have a hard time finding consistent and evolving information. A podcast that uploads twice per month will keep me updated with new and interesting discoveries and such things in neuropsychology that (I hope) will continue onwards for the rest of my schooling career! I talked to a neuroscience advisor about books relating to neuropsychology and he directed me to people like Oliver Sacks, Steven Pinker, and others. I’m always glad to read books but to have a neuropsychology podcast uploading alongside my school progression is unbeatable.

It's a no-brainer that this podcast will get you psyched about neuropsych
This podcast is starting up at such a perfect time in my life. I recently graduated from undergrad and have decided to take a couple years off to get more experience and learn as much as I can about neuropsychology to make sure that clinical neuropsychology is the right path for me. I've already listened to all the episodes you guys have put out so far and I can't wait for more!

    Practical Neuropsychology
I am a clinical psychologist who is currently completing a post-doctoral fellowship to become a neuropsychologist. I travel each week for training, so I am always looking for podcasts and audio didactics to fill my travel time. I am glad I learned of this podcast because it is helping to answer the questions that aren’t always part of formal training. I appreciate the length and organization of the episodes and the topics thus far have been useful to my training.
  • SarahNigro
    Thank you!!!
As a fourth year grad student who is going into the field of neuropsychology I am so happy that something like this exists now! I have loved every episode and can’t wait to listen to future episodes! 🧠

    Great podcast
When searching for neuropsychology podcasts I came across this one and noticed John Bellone’s name. I have actually had the opportunity of attending the same university as him, and read some of the research. I am really excited to see where this podcast goes and the topics that are discussed. I have enjoyed the current episodes. I am currently on internship and interested in pursuing neuropsychology. I am excited that there is a podcast that goes over neuropsychology and help with considering neuropsychology post doc. Hopefully that episode is before the application process.
