lilazigGreat PodcastThis might be the best K-Pop podcast out there. I’m a casual fan, so this pod keeps me up-to-date on all the news and releases. I’ve seen some complain that the hosts aren’t coming from a music background, but I just enjoy hearing people chat about idol music and the K-pop industry from a wide range of perspectives. They’re not haters, they’re just sharing their genuine opinions and I think it’s great, even when I disagree. If you’re hesitant to listen/watch, just listen to an episode yourself and see if it’s the show for you.

Mal434No Music BackgroundThe presenters have no idea what they are talking about. Just throwing their baseless opinions out there without doing actual research.

AstralKoreaGreat PodTop tier podcast and distinct because of the Korean-American & Gyopo viewpoint. Avoid the Discord if you stan Aespa. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Selrahc727FrustratingNo offense, but they have no business talking about actual music composition. They definitely do not have any background in music. If you’re looking for informed discussions about kpop, and arguments that have merit, skip this one.

EtonioBest Kpop Podcast to exist. Period.Honestly, I’ll say it right now. You won’t find a better Kpop Podcast. Informative, thorough, and just plain fun. Like a group of friends gathering to talk about Kpop and more. 👏

bpbqueenGood show but...I like the show but the one presenters habit of smacking his mouth is so distracting an awful to hear that I can’t listen any further.

EllMemeLove 2/3 of the podcast! Really entertaining. Would recommend.I found this podcast because of one specific group I am passionate about. I have known said group for 6-7 years. Other than that group, I would say I was a casual listener of kpop. I knew very few other groups I might listen to on some rare occasions. I have been listening to the podcast for several months now (since around episode 85-90). I kept listening to this podcast at first just to get to hear more about my favorite group. I had finished almost all podcasts mentioning my fav and was looking for more. I search their name and this podcast was among the results. At the beginning I would skip everything not related to my favs. But slowly, i started taking the time to hear more abt others. I can now say, i know a lot more about other groups, about other labels, and a little more about the industry. I don’t get all that with a lot of other podcasts. And I really love (most) topics and categories of each episode. I even now take the time to check out videos of groups they mention or comebacks they talk about. And while my interest in others is nowhere close to my interest in my first and ultimate kpop group; and while I might not always agree with the hosts, i highly enjoy learning more about Kpop in general from the podcast. I have a 2hrs-2hrs 30min commute almost daily to get to work, so I have been highly entertained through the podcast. Definitely 4.5 stars imo. Lately, the state of the nation that was added had sadly not been my cup of tea. I tried listening to that part a few times, but came to the conclusion that it was just not for me, so I now just stop the episode at that part. I was hoping to hear more about kpop since the title includes “Kpop podcast”. I don’t know how much they talk about kpop outside of the podcast during their week, but I would have appreciated getting Kpop for the entire time during the podcast. A good idea to try could be to each present us with 1 or 2 kpop songs (or Korean songs in general) that they like, what they like about it, how they discovered it, and tell us more about those songs. It will be a good way for people to discover more kpop songs (especially underrated ones or songs they couldn’t cover or older songs from 1st or 2nd generation kpop, etc.) It’s not about picking a song to say they dislike and why, but picking a song(or 2 songs) they really like and make us discover and (maybe) like the song as well. When I am talking about a song i am passionate about, i can go on for hours. I don’t get burnout. I would take ranting about a favorite song anytime over random subjects, especially when I am listening to a podcast about music. My current rating is still a 4stars, because while i might not enjoy the last 45-50min of the podcast, i still get approximately 1hr of kpop, which is not bad. So thank you for an entertaining podcast and i wish you the best of luck.

bucoybrownThe best weekly podcast covering KpopTo be honest, there are other Kpop podcasts I enjoy listening to more, but I have a rotation every week that give me different perspectives and different attitudes. SojuTalk is the one that really endeavors to cover the entire scene from a structured, almost sports-talk radio style. They follow the charts, new releases, the music shows, the business side, and make sure to give each of the hosts an even hand in representing their personal favorites. This means equal time for girl groups and boy groups (many other podcasts have a heavy bias by gender), high-profile artists and groups under the radar, including K-hip hop and indie artists they come across. It’s decidedly less fangirl/fanboy than a lot of podcast chatter, maybe even slightly jaded toward what music is “good,” but they take on everything that’s notable, and call out when something deserves the hype. One of the reasons they have depth is the fact that this is also one of the few Kpop podcasts hosted by Korean-Americans, who have direct cultural and native-language connections to the context of the music scene. There’s also an interesting relationship between the hosts, with Doug playing earnest straight man to Warren’s chummy grouchiness, and Anita lending a temperate sisterly presence to balance out the boys’ club energy. It might be nice if they found another female host to back up Anita and give a little more toe-to-toe in opinion with Warren, but this is clearly a project between good friends, and any change up should hold up that connection.

kirig19Weekly shot of kpop!I started listening during my shifts at the University of Michigan’s library - I was really surprised when I found out they met here! Overall a really solid podcast, all the hosts have their own perspectives in discussions but don’t let them get in the way of the more informative sections. Keep up the great work guys!

SFKPOPThey swear a lotI like the topics they covered in the podcast but it would be much better if one of the guys didn’t use curse words in every sentence.
