It’s focused where it should be. On the whole of scripture. And why we do things the way we do and what is truly important

But I wish they would stop taking their cues from niche Reformed goobers on cultural issues. I don’t care what the Reformed think about the LCMS, and bringing those guys on isn’t helpful.

I wish more Lutherans would be as faithful to the word of God and to the Lutheran confessions as the pastors here. The American Lutheran Church is in decline, in terms of membership as well as theologically, and we need more pastors who are willing to stand up for the truth.

I used to really enjoy this show and the related website. They’ve lost their focus on liturgy and Scripture and just want to slander good men.

Pastor Braaten and guests take on the tough issues and make them understandable to the Lutheran mind.

Probably not the best idea to have two guys talking about head-coverings. You even reference the trend of women veiling during the divine service but then never talk to one of them.

So glad I found this. What a great discussion. Topics that actually matter with real Lutheran answers. Will share this often and use this with my group chat and Lutheran pastor and circles.

I appreciate the theological discussion but the speakers are pretty sexist and homophobic.

I learn so much! These pastors have great senses of humor. And they give us a “behind the scenes” look at church. It all makes more sense now. Thanks, Gottesdienst!

This is becoming one of my favorite podcasts. Excellent substance, thoughtful discussion, and every time I listen I find myself clicking ‘Share’ with Lutherans and non-Lutherans alike. Learning about the liturgy never gets old, and it’s wonderful to grow in appreciation of the gifts that God gives us in the Divine Service.

From the rapport with the guests/fellow editors, to the historical and theological content, to the timely topics, this podcast is well done. Braaten isn’t too shabby as a host, either. However, I would like to hear a few more “throw-downs” mixed in, if anyone is taking requests. As it is, the conversational nature, combined with the depth of solidly Lutheran thought, consistently makes me glad to know these Gottesdiensters, even if I haven’t met them.

The content of this podcast is a great confessional Lutheran resource for pastors and lay alike. If you are interested in liturgy and really anything that relates to the pastoral office this podcast is for you.

The Gottesdienst Crowd is a great resource for pastors and laity alike. Anyone interested in our historic treasure of the Lutheran Church that is the liturgy should definitely listen to this. Pastor Braaten does an excellent job as host and the podcast is confessional, fun, and informative. Oftentimes people worship the way they do without thinking much about it. This podcast helps us understand and appreciate how worship is conducted and the deep meanings behind every historic rite and liturgical season. Keep up the good work!
