    Incredible Fun!
I found out about Caroline, her book, and her podcast in a great interview on the Art of Crime Podcast. I’ve since enjoyed the book and devoured the entire back catalogue of this podcast. My mother loved classic mystery books from this period, and it’s been a joy to remember her as I have started to read some of the authors covered by Shedunnit. I’m also genuinely surprised by how many fascinating topics the host covers, many of them having to do with social history, which I love! Any way, it’s a gem of a show, and I recommend it to anyone interested in detective fiction or twentieth-century history, in general.

    Killer podcast!
Fantastically fun podcast! One of the best ones out there! Super entertaining and comprehensive!

Gem of Golden Age Mysteries, both famous and lesser known
Such a treat! Episodes are well-written and conceived . Have been listening to them in chronological order and the earliest ones include information on famous historical crimes (Dr.Crippen, etc.) and shows their influence on the mystery novels we love. But don’t think this is a dry or tedious podcast—it’s very engaging and I find listening to them a good way to unwind. Episodes are relatively brief (@ 1/2hour) but I wish they were longer. May this podcast live long and thrive!

    Simply perfect
What a breath of fresh air. Excellent episodes. Well researched. Pleasure to listen to. Essential to all who read classic and non-classic mysteries.

    Kindred spirit
She had me at “starring Kenneth Branagh’s awful mustache as Hercule Poirot” … No, she had me way before that! With the first episode of Shedunnit, in fact, and every one after that! Caroline Crampton has a writer’s ability to spot common themes and interesting details and a journalist’s talent for choosing excellent topics and interviewing guests. Best of all, she is skilled in plumbing the depths of stories we love and think we already know to reveal something new and unexpected in each episode. If you love Golden Age mysteries, this is the best podcast for you. If you are not a Golden Age fan, take a listen to Shedunnit, and you will be!

    superb
This is a superlatively researched podcast. Many episodes offer insights into the social history of the interwar period—including topics such as single women, golf, the development of forensic science, and the rise of the crossword—that intersect with classical detective fiction. Topics are treated briefly, yet richly. The production is also high calibre. All around, a truly great show.

The fun is dark; the deaths are fiction.
If you love reading mysteries, this podcast is simply the most perfect accompaniment. You may even discover titles you’ve not heard of elsewhere.

    Amazing podcast for mystery readers!
I recently discovered this podcast, and it's absolutely incredible! Great depth and insight, that really gives you asm sense of the history of the mystery genre and the focal role played by female authors. I am enjoying going back and listening to the full archive of episodes.

    Excellent discovery
This podcast is both a surprise and a delight. As satisfying as the endings she carefully avoids spoiling (despite many of these books having been written near a hundred years ago), this podcast is both an audio joy, and an imaginative treat. Highly recommended to all.

Fulfills tradition, but introduces so much more!
I came to this podcast a fan of Christie, but didn’t know much about the rest of the Golden Age writers. I now enjoy SO many other authors and am grateful for the well-researched and professionally presented information. Ms. Crampton celebrates the writers and stories without sugar-coating some of the problems, too. “Vintage murders not vintage values!” This show truly is a balm for those stressful days.

Could not love this podcast more!

I promise you will not be disappointed!

    Delightful and insightful
It isn't a mystery why I love this podcast. Not only does Caroline explore so many interesting topics about the Golden Age, she gives wonderful suggestions for lovers of the Golden Age to expand our reading horizons. Shedunnit, all right: Every episode proves that my favorite genre needn't be mindless escapism or a guilty pleasure.
  • Cali-Koa
    Brilliant!
I love mysteries. I have been reading and listening to the likes of Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, and their heirs like M.C. Beaton for 40+ years, so I feel I’ve got an opinion about the genre. This show is smart, insightful, informative, and has something to offer rookies as well as old bloodhounds. This is podcasting at its very best. It would take a lot of work to exaggerate how much I am enjoying this show.

    Charming and smart
I’ve been listening to Shedunnit more than year after binging the (fantastic) back catalog. One would think that Caroline Crampton would run out of material given the podcast’s specificity, but she never has. Each episode is a well-researched gem and I never get tired of listening to her terrifically lovely voice.

    My favorite new podcast
I've dipped into this podcast a few times in the past, but starting with her episodes about mystery writers during the war, I became entranced. Then it skipped to the interview to celebrate the anniversary of her podcast by her husband., And I fell in love. With both of them.So I went down the internet rabbit hole, researched them both, and ordered her book,The way to the Sea., And I have a new favorite podcast. She's charming and witty and informative. The podcasts are well written and produced. If you are a fan of the golden age of mystery fiction, or an Anglophile, or just love listening to aSoothing English accent this is the podcast for you. I'm thrilled I have so many left to listen to.

    Excellent Podcast
Love this podcast. She takes me on a time travel adventure of what people were experiencing when it came to what were people thinking. How events in history changes people’s stations in life. The research is incredible. The interviews are just lagniappe.

    Excellent
This podcast is always fascinating and well-produced. The host really has a talent for podcast production, and she strikes exactly the right balance between revealing enough about the mystery novels she talks about to be interesting and not so much as to spoil them. Listen to the show—you won’t regret it!

    Love it!
I love this podcast. Started last month and I am now caught up! Just starting to read golden age detective fiction, few years ago I was still reading Nancy Drew. Even as a Gen Z, these books excite me soo much and make me want to read every single one Caroline mentions. Such a calming voice by the way. After a long day of school, this is my go-to to just calm down and take a break
