TresverteAdmittedly Couldn’t Finish More Than One EpisodeLike all mothers, I love new information on how to raise good kids. And I adore most NPR podcasts. But after scrolling and scrolling through episode titles and previews trying to find one that didn’t sound like a learning capsule from “The School for Good Mothers” from the dystopian Jessamine Chan novel (read that instead), I tried one about getting kids to eat more vegetables. It started with a very young mother of one (the host, presumably?) explaining that her child hasn’t eaten vegetables in a year. WinTactualF? I promptly stopped the podcast and decided I’m doing fine. Find seasoned parents/humans to host and we might not all accidentally raise entitled fairy princess robots. The other episode I tried was just OK. Just savor every moment with your children and don’t beat yourself up if you didn’t squeeze special time in today. You’re doing great.

zalma23"How to Indoctrinate your children"A few good points and facts sprinkled into an obviously left-biased show, much like most of NPR's content.

Donbobbo4Parents! Listen! As a mom and as a teacher, I wish every parent would listen to this podcast. So often, I know I need help, but also, I see parents who need help. You both are doing so much to help us do better for our little and not so little ones. Thank you.

Meow mix 777Cookie Monster episode led me astraySuper disappointed that I showed my kids Cookie Monster after hearing an episode about how he’s changed and now teaches some restraint. I pulled up 3 examples of Cookie Monster recently where he exhibited terrible behavior. I should have screened these before showing my kids. This did the opposite of teaching them the lesson I had in mind. Everything in that episode is now discredited in my mind.

Katie Joy B.A Parenting Paradise! So many parenting shows are filled with fluff or only provide one very niche example of the topic at hand, but Life Kit is the complete opposite! Even when they're not speaking on a topic I personally struggle with in parenthood, I still always walk away with something new in my parenting toolbox that I'm sure to use down the road! Another great win for NPR - keep up the great work guys!

Michelle B ChangExcellent perspectiveI most love this podcast because it Provides a moment of thoughtful discussion on how to approach topics relevant to specific and changing developmental stages. I would love to hear one on politics and climate change - separately. Thanks so much!

Umm....2000Overall show topicsThis podcast is amazing. I was hoping you can cover school shootings next. Possibly different age groups. My small child just started preschool and I would like to hear from age group as well as older children. Keep up the amazing work with great tips.

EDGapGreat podcast!Thought the Hidden Brain and Life Kit Parenting subscription issue was fixed, but I keep getting Hidden Brain labeled Life Kit. Please actually fix this! Note: for some reason Hidden Brain has gotten mixed up with the Life Kit Parenting subscriptions. What looks like a Life Kit episode is downloaded, but it’s actually Hidden Brain. Please fix this! Life Kit Parenting is great! It’s been very helpful in guiding conversations about difficult topics with my family.

ErinVWSo helpful! This podcast is quick and accessible for parents who have limited alone time but need answers to the big questions. Can you PLEASE do an episode on how to talk to young kids (like 5 years old) I’m lockdown drills and school shootings?
-
nsbcoloradoGreat podcast- facts not opinionsThanks so much for this amazing podcast. I love the facts and statistics that you bring to managing parenting. I live in Colorado. Could you do a podcast and kids and marajuana. I dropped my 6 year old off for a play date and could smell MJ in the house. I hesitated but let her stay for the two hours. How should we handle the parenting side of it not the kids consumption side. Thanks

lclarson22My 3.5 son just asked me where we go when we dieI was taken by surprise by this question and found the episode about death to be very helpful. I’m also prepared to discuss race when the question arises. We live in a rural predominantly white area, so it will be an important conversation to have. Can you please do an episode to how to talk to kids about different body sizes, particularly fat vs skinny?
-
GarahLLSo good!Love the thoughts behind this project! Great guests and awesome topics we’re all wondering about!

As MannThank youThis has given me the right words and approach of how to talk about these tricky situations. Especially with young kids. And my heart warms each time they use clips from Sesame Street!
