    Great Podcast
I found Build Witt 3 years ago on YouTube. I was a young Tech out of college and was just obsessed with heavy equipment. As I worked on my career I found a liking to the sales and support side of construction industry. Now as a PSSR for ZIEGLER Cat in MN, I get help customer succeed and listening to the podcast as opened my eyes and more to help my customers and learn more about all the industries in the broad title of Heavy Equipment and Construction. What Aaron and his team are creating is what the industry needs so we as humans can survive.

    BuildWitt walks the walk
Aaron, Alex and the BuildWitt folks have brought to the forefront the most pressing issue facing the industry. Without simple lip service these folks have a vision, directed their mission and set about to change things. As a professional land surveyor I am no stranger to the ‘people problem’ across our related industries. Too often professions and groups gather to talk about the issue but statistics show that what we have been doing for the last ten years is not working. Buildwitt has unapologetically entered this arena and is actively working on multiple fronts to address the issue. They have surrounded themselves with some wise folks that have implemented changes of their own and are willing to share across the board. Well worth your time. If you have some windshield time-I know you do-grab an episode…it may just change your perspective.

    Aaron is truly a gem
Aaron at BuildWitt is doing so unbelievably much to find solutions to the problems we in the construction industry face that ultimately end up effecting everybody else, too. He is open and honest and talks about the things that need to be brought to light.

    Best Podcast Ever?
This podcast brings awareness about an industry that isn’t always glamorous but makes for a great career and is absolutely essential for modern infrastructure. As long as roads, bridges, and power are needed in the US, there will be a need for the vital jobs that are discussed in this podcast.

    DirtTalk rocks!
As one of the original 6 listeners, an official friend of the DirtTalk podcast and a podcast guest (DT076 July 2021) I may be a bit biased, but DirtTalk is favorite podcast! Aaron has a great variety of guests and Alex does a great job of editing. Give it a listen, you won’t be disappointed. #betterdirtworld

    Good for Everyone
I come from the commercial construction world, but so much of what is talked about on this podcast is applicable. Build Witt discusses many of the long overdue topics in construction.

    Spitting truth
Thank you for saying out loud what so many of us have been saying behind closed doors for a long time . Sometime it feels like no one can hear us over the Diesel engine noise.

Want to learn how stuff gets made? Stop right here!
When you know absolutely nothing about earth moving, mining and heavy equipment but you’re tuning in every episode to absorb just a tiny crumb more about that world I think that’s a good sign the BuildWitt folks are doing something right. Great content, fun stories and wonderful guests! Give Herb Sargent his own show!!

    Great Content
A bit mixed on this one. I think the host does an awesome job at getting great personalities from the field, and I’ve found that very interesting and sometimes valuable. I cringe at his perspective often. Glorifying the field is a great thing, but it comes across as disingenuous if you have small sample sizes to hang your hat on. Shift work involves a lot of sacrifice - mostly stemming from time away from family and friends, plus the mental toll it takes. Toiling away for years - even decades - is much different than a few internships and entry level jobs and I think it’s dangerous to compare the two, and it’s hard to talk about this unless you’ve experienced these aspects. I think anyone can understand blue collar work, and even dip their hands into it, but without experiencing the consequences, it’s really difficult to convincingly say you do. Working 18 hour days or traveling six days a week happens, but there is a difference if you are doing it because you have to pay your rent versus if you want to do it. I’m not sure if understanding that divide is appreciated through this podcast. That said, I love his enthusiasm for all things dirt. That definitely shouldn’t get lost. The content that they create is clearly impressive.

I've listened from pretty close to the beginning. I love the humor and jokes but at the same time appreciate the down to earth conversations that are had. I've taken so much from these podcasts and been able to transfer them to every day life to make the dirt world a better place on my end!

One of my go to podcasts!
Dirt talk is one of my go to podcasts that I listen to every week as soon as it comes out. Great conversations about the dirt world and the world in general. As a carpenter it’s great to hear about a different side of the trades. The last two weeks with Sal as the guest may have been some of the best episodes yet!

    Outstanding Podcast
Aaron and Alex make this podcast one of the best there is. I listen every Monday and Thursday. As I’m also a young professional in the construction industry, I constantly find myself relating and benefitting from their information, questions, and guests. Their many beneficial discussions in regards to company culture have influenced me to chase better opportunities to where I’m much more motivated and driven. Can’t wait to visit their office and meet them (hopefully)!

    More listeners than I thought!
Saying this tongue in cheek, but I thought that Aaron and Alex were speaking about me when they were saying thanks to their 5 listeners every week. I came on here to write a review, and there are way more people tuning in every week then they were giving themselves credit for! Kudos to you guys! In all serious, this is a well informed and very professional podcasts. I listen to both weekly episodes and genuinely look forward to each one. I will be a part of the BuildWitt following until the end. Thank you guys for all your efforts and hard work.

    Episode 78
If you haven’t heard of dirt talk then what rock are you hiding under. It is crazy how good Aaron and guests keep getting better and better. The information knocks it out of the park. If your listening from podcast 1 I want you to not give up there is more to come. As they say like fine wine it just gets better with age.Aaron has not episode 78 out of the park. This is one thing that I have been dealing with in my own life as a leader and working for companies that have been established overtime. Great job guys!

A Great Podcast for All Things Dirt & Marketing
Seeing Aaron & Dan grow BuildWitt over the years is inspiring. Aaron has quickly become a strong advocate for construction, sharing his passion for the trade and playing in dirt. As a construction marketer myself, I love listening to this podcast and hearing the stories behind the brands, leaders, and companies they work with and the fantastic pictures they share via social media.

Finger on the Pulse of this Industry
While I am in the plastic surgery industry and Aaron Witt is in the dirt industry of construction engineering, his teachings and wisdom is relevant across the spectrum. I found him through his podcast with Scott Miller of Franklin Covey on January 11, 2021. Scott found him by purchasing Aaron’s book on a Saturday trip to Barnes & Noble with his 3 young boys. After listening in with Scott I traveled across to listen in on BuildWitt’s 12/26/20 year-end podcast. I will share this with my outsourced marketing team, which is an almost parallel group to Aaron’s team as they are a young 5-year old company striving to be authentic and teach what they learn to their 80 partner businesses. Well done Aaron and worth a listen by businesses who strive to be authentic and operate under the principle that SIMPLE IS GOOD. We are listening guys despite what you said at the end of your podcast!

    Inspirational
Hey Aaron, Just wanted to thank you for everything you are doing. I really enjoy someone to relate to as far as being in our early 20’s and share the same passion for dirt work. 4 months ago I started my own dirt work company primarily doing abandon mine closures for the State of Colorado and other various jobs for the Department of Interior. It’s been a struggle being a child and starting my own company but have been awarded 4 jobs and shaping up to have a great first 6 months of business. Couldn’t do it without the support of my family or a little inspiration from the Ol’ #BuildWitt crew. Keep doing what you are doing....mainly because I have no friends to relate with and enjoy spending time listening to your humble, interesting podcast. Also, quit teasing yourself too much, you are a Bad Ass dude. Take care.
  • RSLatimer
    Unique and Authentic
Dude. You tell a good story; descriptive and understandable. I’ll listen to more. What’s the deal with Yuma? I thought it was a cool place to stay for a few night for work. Take care

    Getting into the industry
Great podcast, I grew up the same way watching heavy equipment while the rest of my family had no ties to the industry. It’s awesome to hear someone do what you do. I went to school as a civil engineer but now I’m a superintendent at 24 years old. If I could ever do it over I probably wouldn’t go to school bc experience is way more valuable.
