Worthless, please find help

My previous review said this podcast is better than all other podcasts combined. Sadly, I must rescind this proclamation. Had to stop the last episode halfway through because you guys, Bill Clinton famously owned a cat!! And Idaho is known for potatoes not corn!!! Still giving you 5 stars but I’m seriously fuming over here and not sure I can believe anything you say ever again.

Wow, I’m so relieved to have finally found a podcast whose hosts take their science SERIOUSLY. You can really tell they went to so much school for this and are true experts in their field. Straightness is *such* an exact science, and it really takes professionals who know what they’re doing to not only conduct all the lab studies, but also to relay the findings clearly and without bias or irony. So rare to find these days!

One of the funniest things to me about this show was how they straight-up stole the theme from The Great British Baking Show and used it as their own. It tickled me every single time I tuned in. For at least a year, this made me giggle inside. Then I watched the baking show and realized it is actually is not the same song. Disappointed.

This podcast lacks any substance or value.

I love this podcast so much. But I wish you would acknowledge that there are gay men living in small towns across the country. Not everyone lives in New York or LA. We are just as educated and ambitious as you. And honestly, we probably understand straight culture even more! 😂

Oh Hello, Elder Millennial gay guy from the midwest here . I had to stop the Lauren Oyler episode to come to the reviews to defend my fellow millennial gay Kathy Griffin fan, George Civeris. Obviously “vote blue no matter who” is now just a hilarious joke. True glamour girls know that! anyone not in in the joke needs to go scratch. Much like the sentiments “She’s running!” and “We did it Joe!”. These are now things we can laugh at. i’m sorry but i am with George on this one. A boomer comedians yelling at gays to “vote blue no matter who” is funny. this glamour girl is here for the backlash era!!

This was my first episode. This was mostly just punching down at people in poly relationships, and in ways that aren't funny, but just repeat the same ideas that the most ardently straight, committedly heteronormative people use to punch down at people in poly relationships. There's nothing new or insightful here, it's just the same old things being said with the plausible deniability of queer irony. Are the straight-coded, poly-as-identity subjects of random magazine articles tedious? Yes, of course; otherwise they wouldn't be held up as weird curiosities for pageviews. I get that you're attempting to talk about a specific form of polyamory that is incredibly easy to mock, but this is still just punching down, especially when the guest is so committed to valorizing their own open relationship as the Correct Very Queer Way to do essentially the same thing. Congrats, I guess they're Winning at Queer? The worst thing is that, as someone who is in a poly relationship - albeit one where we're all gay; maybe that makes it okay in the eyes of the show's hosts - friends are now sending me this episode for comment and agreement. That just leaves me wondering what they must really think about my being in a poly relationship. Not a great feeling.

I love this podcast 5 stars but your ads absolutely do not reflect your views. iHeart must control this but it’s so hard to listen to a thoughtful and fun conversation and then hear dangerous ads

But truly none compare to Straightiolab. They define this queer alt-comedy genre in a brilliant way. They’re just the best!!!!!

One of my top 5 favorite 2-gay-guys-talking podcasts. Why has the audio gotten so bad lately? Volume keeps cutting in and out.

I’ve been listening for a while and it’s almost always a fun time. But lately, the audio goes dim sometimes. It sounds like they move away from the mic throughout the episode which is pretty distracting.

What’s up Straighto makers it’s a super chill listener here and I just want you to know I love the show and I can’t get enough. I listen every week and go back and listen to the same week from the year before we a need an extra dose to get me through. Xo

The First Day of School Outfits episode is classic and profound.

Been listening since the jump and this has become my favorite pod I anticipate week to week I love George and Sam’s tangents and takes. There back and forth is so fun and also deep? wow what more do u want lol

I was looking for more LGBTQIA friendly podcasts and hit the jackpot with this one! I laugh each time and absolutely love their dry humor and “scary” topics ;)

Can’t believe “Goofy is a gooner” dropped the same day that “Dang” did. Y’all should see if Caroline Polachek would come on and do an episode about interpretive dance or something lol. Also, what about maybe a patreon movie club episode about Down Low with Zachary Quinto and Lukas Gage? Also, worse idea: maybe a patreon episode about like a video game?

And the Joe Pera episode was the leftovers in the fridge that you eat late at night alone in the dark kitchen. The home is two-story and there are no Rae Dunn products to be found. Every hand soap is lavender. The plate goes in the dishwasher and you’re off to bed.

This dynamic is so delightful. I didn’t know about Robyn’s SNL performance and he was the perfect guest to gift me that knowledge

I look forward to this every week. Thanks for helping me lighten up once a week!

The approximately 45 seconds that begins with George calling the NYT piece on boys thinking about the Roman Empire “basically misinformation” and ends with the observation that meme culture has circled us back to the gender essentialism of wondering what women even think about, is literally the most trenchant media commentary of the last decade. No notes. This podcast is deranged and perfect.

What a wonderful podcast. Thought provoking, insightful, light hearted and deep. But an easy breezy listen that has me cracking up in inappropriate places and thinking on bits for days. Appreciate y’all big time.

The way Derry Queen was giving serious Max Wittert energy right off the bat had me dying.

This is pure comedy gold that consistently makes my life better. It is witty and thought-provoking absurdist satire from two friends who have incredible on-air chemistry. Seriously I can’t explain how much I love this show.

It always makes me laugh! George Civeris and Sam Taggart are great hosts but writing this because I hated the episode with Robby Hoffman, she made a joke about r*pe and I stopped listening 👎
