Second Chance

Award Winning Second Chance is a podcast series that explores the theme of second chance. It raises the questions who deserves a second chance, who decides who gets a second chance and what a second chance actually means. On this podcast we speak to people from all walks of life about their experiences, some who have been given a second chance in life, some who might be considered to be beyond deserving a second chance. The host of the podcast series is Raphael Rowe, host of the critically acclaimed series ‘Inside the World's Toughest Prisons’ on Netflix. He is also a former correspondent for the world's longest running BBC TV current affairs show Panorama the BBC Radio 4 Today programme as well as a regular contributor on The One Show and Sunday Morning Live on BBC One. In 1988, aged 20, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for a murder and robbery he did not commit. In July 2000, after 12 years in prison, the Court of Appeal quashed his wrongful convictions and he was freed.

Raphael Rowe does an excellent job by bringing such inpirational and fascinating stories that are enjoyable to listen too. His questions during the interview are always right on point and this story was amazing to listen too. I have listened to all of Raphael's podcasts and anxiousy await the next one's. This is one podcast that must become a part of your library! I turn to Second Chances when I want to be mentally stimulated and challenged to ask myself some difficult questions regarding my perceptions and beliefs. Also I highly recommend Raphael’s series Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons if you are looking for meaningful content to binge. Honestly anything Raphael puts out is top notch and I will support it!!! You should too, I promise you won’t be disappointed! I’m really hoping for a documentary on his own story next...

As someone who has an education on psychology and counseling, this really makes me think about what a second chance is and how differently it can be applied to everyone’s life. Episode 2 great interviews on the understanding of what designates “Second Chance” Ep. 3 Begins of what the show is really about! Raphael proves his journalistic talent, with interviews of letting people tell their side of the story with hopes to have their name cleared of guilty and given them their innocence even after being released. Very interesting and brilliant! Looking forward to Ep.4 and hope for many more to come!
