Each week Mikey, Paige, and Todd review a romantic movie and break down the good, the bad, and the funny. Give it a listen, we’ll have you at hello.

    Very wonderful Podcast
I have just started listening a couple weeks ago and haven’t been able to stop! I love the song you sing at the start of every podcast! You guys are so much fun to listen to and thanks so much for reviewing all of my favorite movies!!

200 (minus a couple vacation) episodes of Mikey
It’s been a while since I tried pulling a fast one and gotten Mikey to read another one of my reviews, so I figured this was my last shot. I speak for the tens of podcast listeners in the world (you know, because podcasts are a dying medium) when I say I will miss the sound of your voice twice a week (in a non-creepy way). Ever since you guest hosted on Horror Virgin, your laugh was distinctive and infectious to the listeners. Your vulnerability and insight on films and the sometimes serious nature was always appreciated. You will be missed, and I’m glad you didn’t get Highlandered. In the Thing episode of Horror Virgin, when you said you might join permanently and that you’d let them know, I feel like we have the answer after nearly 75 billion hours (not confirmed actual time) in over 475 episodes between the two shows. Thanks for all the memories, Miggy-Mack PS. Read this in the Macho Man voice or as Confederate Ouija Soldier.

Chemistry of the hosts makes the pod
The chemistry and ability of Todd, Mikey, and Paige to “yes and…” each other into wild tangents is so charming and wildly fun as they take us through the rom coms we love to hate. This is the ONLY podcasts that’s made me literally LOL in public. (Pro tip: maybe skip the episodes of the movies you still actually love. You may never look at them the same way again.) Sad to see Mikey go, but I’m positive Todd and Paige will still bring all the jokes, opinions, fun facts, and hot takes I love.

    Romantic VS Toxic
I love listening to Paige, Todd, and Mikey’s hilarious and informative input on this (and The Horror Virgin) podcast! I really wanted to suggest adding a “Toxic Scale,” especially for the poorly ranked movies. I love the advice Paige gives on being a strong independent person and how she stresses that it is NOT OUR JOB to make OTHERS happy! In the After series, I really believe that it glorifies a woman needing to be an (narcissist &) addict’s savior and THANK YOU for exposing that! We need movies that show HEALTHY relationships and how we can get through hard things without taking on toxic traits. Thank you again for always keeping me company throughout my day! PS: I’m waiting for the Raccoon Trash Merch!

    Oh Pancake Daddy!
A great trio of hosts who play off one another perfectly, even if one is drunk as jokes fly about shampoo and Pancake Daddy! The review show you didn’t know you needed for romantic comedies new and old, balancing humor, analysis, and why some of everyone’s favorites aged as well as the guy who chose the wrong cup in Last Crusade. Just a request for future consideration; the Mormon romantic comedy “The Singles Ward.” It aged poorly, but is utterly hilarious even if you don’t get the Mormon in-jokes and cameos. And a fun fact: they dropped a car out of a plane on 9/11 as part of filming it. Sorry Paige, it wasn’t 10/12!

    The Best Medicine
I’ve listened to this podcast for a few years now, but more recently I got my husband to start listening to it with me during our long drives to and from the hospital to go visit our baby in the NICU. It became something we each really looked forward to and helped make the drive home in the evenings more cheerful. I just wanted to say a very heartfelt thank you to Paige, Mikey, and Todd for bringing some laughter and lightness to an otherwise heavy time in our lives. I cannot recommend this show enough, it deserves all the stars!

    PAIGE INTERNATIONAL NASTY GIRL!!! 😂
While listening to the Little Italy episode during my workout I found myself spitting my water out laughing at Paige. I was in the minority that got your SNL International Nasty Girl joke. I loved watching SNL every Saturday night because of the comedic genius of Aidy Bryant. You remind me of Aidy in your comedic timing and I laugh out loud because of you consistently. Todd and Mikey are also incredible and I’ve enjoyed listening to both Romancing the Pod and Horror Virgin. You three make my week better and I enjoy your humor, insight, and creativity in every episode. You have a life long supporter in this Texan. P.S. not all Texans are terrible ❤️

You had me at nipple cider
I first heard of this delightful trio via Jeff May and have since been binge listening this as well as the horror virgin and every episode has truly made the days a joy. I just listened to the Moonstruck episode and it is my all time favorite so far. Truly Mikey, Paige, and Todd are the best kind of ear candy.

    Nothing But Love!
Just found the podcast and listened to my favorite rom com episode, Return to Me. So happy you all loved this film as much as I do. Can’t wait to listen to you cover some of my other favorites like The Cutting Edge, Love and Basketball, Something New, Wimbledon, and many others. One recommendation I have is for 2013 Don Jon with Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordon Levitt.

Hot Take: The couple in the cold opening to the blackening deserved to get got
They picked Omar Epps & Jada Pinkett in Scream 2 when Duane Martin (aka Joel the cameraman) had more screen time & survived! On another note, love the podcast. Thank you all for the work that you put into it and for the unique perspectives. For absolutely no reason though, I have to say….Mikey is my absolute favorite! 5 stars

    Makes me literally LOL
I found this show by searching for RWRB reviews and this is the only one I’ve kept listening to. My husband and I went to Scandinavia for two weeks and this we went thorough soooo many episodes. He loved the show too! You have covered so many of my favorites! Can’t wait to keep listening!

    Where to start....
My youngest daughter sent me this recommendation to get me away from all the murder and cult podcasts I listen to (my eldest and I listened to Cult Podcast on our drive from Seattle to Buffalo, NY in October!!). I needed a break from death, decay and destruction. I actually have a folder on my phone of photos of my daughter’s tats and piercings, in the event they ever go missing!! I gave your podcast a try and let’s just say, YOU HAD ME AT HELLO!!!! I love your banter, I absolutely love all of your hearty bellyaching laughter, which brings me to smiles. I love the love you all share in your stories, in your friendships and in the hard work you do building an interesting and listen worthy podcast!! Page, I tell the “fart in the jar” White Christmas story to my friends and it makes me laugh every single time. Let’s just say, I’d love to be neighbors with your parents and tell our stories!! Keep it going and know that my two daughters and I listen and love your podcast. YOU’VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME!!!

4 out of 4 Lion Roars!
Love love LOVE this podcast! Special shout-out to the neglected Todd because I too am a younger sibling. ❤️ Keep up the good work, you really did have me at “Hello.” P.S. if you’re feeling brave, you can play the Romancing the Pod drinking game! (Pick one of the following) Drink when… 1) Paige says “Anyway…” 2) Mikey talks about being single 3) Todd says “Mikey”

    Bless your Buttery Eye
This podcast has made me realize that rom-coms can really be anything. From the most heartfelt stories to the most bonkers nonsense, these movies and these hosts bring a masterclass in breaking down the best and the worst in rom-com land. And Mikey be thicc *winky-blinky*

    You all make my day.
I find myself anxiously checking for new episodes even when a new one has just dropped that day. Thank you for the constant laughs.

    romcoms are satan
i came over here to get more of the trio after becoming obsessed with THV and even though romance movies aren’t my thing, i have no regrets. the pod is done so well per usual and the hosts are hilarious, well-researched, and have incredible chemistry!! romcoms still make me want to die but less now
  • Ohyeahdrawsomethingyeah
    Consistently funny
Mikey, Paige, and Todd have a special talent for not being annoying. Almost every other pod eventually gets on my nerves with repetitive jokes and increasingly outlandish personalities. These three have remained themselves and not a caricature of what they think we like. Keep up the excellent work!
  • Padfoot211
This podcast makes people give me funny looks
I listen to it on my train commute and frequently can’t hold back my laughter. The hosts have a great mix of recap, serious commentary, and genuine humor that is really one of a kind. And any time a group can devote conservatively 30 minutes to making bread puns (well also failing to make them but we still love Mikey) you have to know the ‘yes, and’ is on point! Thanks for making my days brighter!

I Would Listen to these Hosts Review Any Movie
Long time listener of both Romancing the Pod and Horror Virgin, as well as Paige’s five million other podcasts. Their banter has me laughing out loud to the point I can no longer listen at work as patients in the ER give me weird looks. Todd and Paige’s random singing is the cherry on top, especially because Mikey hates it. Truly a great chemistry and flow between the three hosts I could listen to any movie genre covered. Love to hear truly ridiculous movies get torn apart, and the occasional teary moments remind me there are actually some good romcoms out there. Sprinkle in Mikey’s bad dating stories and you have a lovely podcast! 5 stars!
  • superkompas
You had me at Paige, Mikey and Todd
I don’t watch many rom coms, but I listen to every episode of this podcast, so I don’t really need to. The dynamic between the hosts is fantastic. Mikey is hilarious, especially when he plans jokes ahead of time. Paige is just the right amount of sarcastic, and Todd’s voice is the best! Love it. Everyone should listen, especially if they’re not really up on their rom com viewing. It will save you so much time.

    You guys rock
So instead of discussing how great each of you three are , let take a trip back to the year of 1986. On this trip we’ll discuss a love story about a young aspiring musician named Beverly who wants many things in life . Not just fame and fortune for her band “Cherry Bomb” , but what Beverly truly wants Is to find true love . Something so hard to find that it comes in the fashion of an Alien Duck name Howard who lives on the planet DuckWorld. It’s one of the most romantic love stories of the 80’s that’s mixed with a lot of humor . One may call this story a romcom, I would call it HOWARD THE DUCK. A story so worthy of telling, that only the very best romcom podcast of 2024 would be brave enough to tell . Will Romancing the podcast be this worthy brave podcast to share the love story of Howard and Beverly ? Only time will tell . I guarantee this movie will not give you cancer though Todd’s sweet sweet voice has been rumored to . Happy 2024 Romancing the Pod

    Unhinged
A group of three unhinged adults that I would go to the ends of the earth to protect. I love you all so much. Your tangents get me through so many slow days. I’ve listened to Mikey pooping the floor no less than 12 times and still cry laughing every time.

Making a rom-com lover outta me
As a long time listener of the HV, I followed you guys over to RTP purely out of good faith for a great time. I’ve never been a big rom-com fan but this podcast has quickly changed that for me. Being introduced to movies I would have never sought out on my own has been rewarding but laughing out loud about movies I love is the best! Thanks to Mikey’s Nicolas Cage run, I literally fist bumped the air in my car when you guys announced watching “The Family Man” over Christmas break. Keep doing what you guys do, making us all laugh each week while we fist bump the air over movies we love.
  • DoctorWaffle
    A must listen podcast!
One of my favorite podcasts out there, (as well as Horror Virgin) Paige, Mikey, and Todd knock it out of the park every episode!

    Got me watching rom-coms again
I’ve always enjoyed romantic comedies, but had stopped watching them. Since I’ve started listening to Paige, Mikey, and Todd, I now look forward to watching the movie of the week. I had forgotten how much I enjoy the fully ludicrous, cheesy moments of these films! And listening to y’all talk about them always brightens my day. Oh, and the theme songs? I sing them randomly because they’re all hits.

Keeping me company in my car office
I am a hospice social worker and work out of my car. I enjoy listening to this crew so much both in my car, driving from patient to patient to decompress, and also on my daily walks with my dog. I assume it is less insane looking to be laughing in my car than it is to be trying to hold in laughter while walking at dog before the sun comes up. They have a way of making even terrible movies seem fun.

    Pod for all occasions
If you’re too tired to absorb a movie or TV show, listen to this show. If you need distraction from chatty work associates, listen to this show. If you’re anxious about doing errands alone, download and listen to this show while going to Target! The companionship and absorption into their conversation is just right for all situations! 💜💜💜 -Ann J

The podcast you need to listen to
I love love love this podcast, I binged all the episodes and the only issue I have with this podcast is that it made realize that I’ve seen maybe too many romcoms, and by that I mean maybe 95% of them😅😅. Regardless of my romcom addiction, I love Paige, Mikey, and Todd, keep doing what you doing!!

    My Favs
This and the Horror Virgin have easily become my most listened to podcasts this year! The hosts are super funny and really compliment each other in a sibling rivalry sort of way and I love the fun facts they do each episode. Keep doing what you’re doing guys!!! Also please do Serendipity this winter season I’m begging you! I love John Cusack 💖
  • GaySlowpoke
Humorous, Insightful, and a Gay Ole’ Time
This podcast along with it’s sister podcast, The Horror Virgin, have become two of my favorite podcasts. I especially look forward to Pride Month every year when our fine trio here make sure to highlight gay and queer stories. As a queer man, it’s not too often I hear popular podcasts make an effort to truly highlight our stories that aren’t already queer focused. The episodes of The Birdcage and Fire Island are two of my favorite episodes that I revisit frequently and are two movies that hold a special place in my heart. Too often I feel in the name of representation Queer film is put onto a higher pedestal than other works because it must check certain boxes to be seen as good and worthwhile. I always feel Paige, Mikey and Todd truly handle these movies with grace and see them as the individual pieces or art they are meant to be while comparing it to the bigger picture. There is incredible nuance in their discussions that I sometimes feel others lack. Paige, Mikey, and Todd always manage to find a good balance of humor and seriousness while discussing these films and I always appreciate the insightfulness they do bring to their analysis. I also appreciate their personal anecdotes they bring to each discussion. Also with all the discussions about Rupaul’s Drag Race, I do hope to see some drag movies in future episodes. While I don’t want to make requests in a review, I dream of the animated discussions our fine hosts would have on movies like Priscilla: Queen of the Desert or Too Wong Foo. Thank you for always giving a smile to my face each week when a new episode drop.

Paige: Ludacris is starring in a Christmas movie. Full stop.
Hi guys, longtime listener and huge fan here! As someone who loves both horror movies and romance movies, I was happy to find two podcasts that match both of my interests. I have flip flopped between listening to both podcasts and I always appreciate both the comedy, humanity, and real world knowledge that all of you bring and that interplays on both podcasts. Now for Paige: since I just finished listening to “Something New” today (which is why I’m writing this review), I wanted to let her know that Ludacris will be starring in “Dashing in the Snow” on Disney+ this year - your welcome. Also, if you guys are ever interested in doing a romance in horror month for Valentines Day, can I recommend the insane Robert Englund “Phantom of the Opera” for your viewing (dis)pleasure - or any of the Phantom movies (especially the musical so I can listen to Mikey squirm and to see if Todd can hit a high c). All around, five stars, and a big thumbs up for all the good work you do on the podcast and in your day to day lives!

    Male ego bickering
This used to be a good podcast, not my favorite, but I like hearing about movies. Todd and Mikey are in the midst of the lamest slap-fight I’ve ever had the displeasure of listening to. (I was going to call this a d*** measuring contest, but this is more juvenile.) It’s so childish. You’re making the energy weird, especially because neither of you is dunking on each other and you both look petty. (I’m talking specifically about the Oct 26, 2023 episode for Fools Rush In, but this feedback is not restricted to just that one.) End it. Talk about movies. I don’t listen to your episodes often, but every time I give one a listen, I remember how trying it is to hear you guys and how it doesn’t have to be this way.

    A Positive Change
This podcast is a much-needed breath of fresh air in my life. I had been binging true crime like it was my full-time job, and after angrily ranting to my sister about how awful humans are to each other, she firmly suggested that I “detox” with a more positive podcast. I am so glad that she recommended this show, because I laugh my butt off during every episode. Thank you for saving me from myself!

    Valley Girl!
It’s been awhile since you’ve recapped a movie that I LOVE! Excellent choice, Mikey! I love listening to this bunch of real life friends…the chemistry is amazing and I just love Todd…he’s so sweet and hilarious. One of my faves and I anxiously await new episodes! Keep going!
  • brennans biggest fan
We need to address Mikey’s breeding fetish.
Now that I have your attention just wanted to say I love the pod. I am worried that Mikey has a whole Don’t breathe setup in his basement but that’s something you can address in your other pod. This pod is so perfect that the removal of even one element (I mean Mikey) from an episode makes just that much less funny. That said some of the best episodes are when Mikey or Todd choose a movie that has Paige seething with rage, it sustains me. I do have to say at this point I imagine Todd as a sentient pile of coats and cardigans. Anyways keep up the good work you group of love able degenerates. P.S. Mikey of. You choose to read this on the pod do a voice of your choice.

    I Hate Running
So I use RTP (and HV) to motivate my miles. I only allow myself to listen to new episodes on a run. The gang keeps me company and it’s the perfect way to log miles while losing track of how far or long I have been running. Such fun and different perspectives. I had no idea I was such an amateur at watching movies. Keep up the good work!

    Lion Roars
This podcast gives me life every week! Between HV & RTP?! What more can I ask for?! 365 was the most amazing chaos I’ve ever been a part of, especially when I was sick with COVID & I got wine drink & live tweeted along with Paige. Amazing. Couldn’t have survived that quarantine without her or RTP. 10/10!
  • PandaMom05
    In the Butts
I am mad at y’all. The 365 episode was so hilarious that I sought out the “movie” and it was white hot trash. But that just means the podcast is that good to make something go so bad so funny. 10 Lion Roars.
  • NeeceLand
    My favorite trio!
Love this throuple!! Will listen to anything they put out, love them here and on HV. They are amazing together, love the detail they put in and I LOVE Todd’s voice. Oh and the singing!! Or is that on HV? Love you guys!

    Wait… Wut?
I came from Cult Podcast to Horror Virgin and got lost and found RTP! I love this podcast because its a great cast that talks crap about the genre that I’m not really interested in. It’s in my weekly rotation (w/Cult Pod and HV) and that will never change! You complete meee! If you read this, do it again in ‘Scottish Simlish’ please. And Mikey did you get my tongs?

I kinda like rom coms now
I started listening to this podcast after catching up on all of the Horror Virgin episodes and i just couldn’t get enough of that sweet power thrupple. My favorite episode so far was the Mannequin episode. I laughed a lot and every episode makes me want to watch some of these movies and I’m starting to have a new appreciation for the genre in the same way Horror virgin got me to like more found footage movies and House II. Keep up the good work and I would walk from Colorado to Louisiana just to listen to you guys.

    New Listener
I just found the podcast recently and have been listening to the back catalog at work. I love the banter, the random tangents, and the insight into each movie. I highly recommend the podcast for people who have long commutes or a long work shift where they need something to listen to. Fair warning you might end up laughing out loud and get odd looks from your coworkers.
