AlexDaHunterPodcast That Slays My ChoresI stumbled upon this podcast by chance and now can’t imagine my chore routine without it. Halle and Alison are very funny, it feels like I’m listening to friends. They breakdown these movies in the most entertaining way, highly recommend!
-
Django713Quick super fanI just started listening to my first ever Ruined episode, and 10 minutes in and I’m already hooked. I love the concept. Always have loved Halle’s humor and love the way she tells the movie story. Cant wait to binge on this!
-
jen-rk87Love this showI’ve been listening to this show from the start and I love it, but for some reason the funniest moment of the show so far was in the episode for Sweetheart Alison’s mic is extra sensitive and her breathing just gave hilarious ambiance to this beach episode. Truly thought they had added wave sounds for a full experience. Amazing. Also as an alternative to the reviews saying be less political maybe be more political. As a treat.
-
UCanHealToo much politics!I used to love this podcast. Listener for years. Never missed an episode. Now I have to regularly skip forward to get past all the politics. Not worth it to listen to anymore as there are so many other horror podcasts now and I don’t need to hear the constant negativity, whining and bashing of the other side. Work it out in therapy, ladies. We come here for your horror commentary not your political views.
-
Redsox67Great Movie TalkI think there is a similar review, but discovered your podcast a few months ago. I loved your review on so many movies , but I too have had to avoid the first 10 minutes do to political talk. I listen to nothing political, just causes stress no matter which way you look at it. Thank you though for your humor.

laurenelaine2013feedback from a big fanladies, i love yall. in my top two podcasts for the past 3 years. over the past few months ive been skipping the intros. my politics and yours align pretty much dead on, but with so much political chaos as we are flooded with information daily, your weeks late commentary has been tough to listen to. you must be recording like 3 weeks before release, so by the time it hits our feed we've moved on to several other catastrophes by then. it's like being reminded someone poisoned your gold fish after your cat and dog and lizard all got into separate car accidents. i realize this might not make sense but i hope it does.

MikrocksoutLove this show… most of itI love this show so much and the commentary and description of the films is so spot on! I’ve been finding myself skipping the whole first half at this point though because I can’t take the accurate descriptions of the state of our world right now, it gives me more anxiety than I’m prepared for on a day to day basis and I’m already stressed enough about it without listening to someone freaking out out loud what I’m freaking about every day on the inside about. It’s not the kind of commentary that has actionable activities that give me any sort of relief as to how to move forward in any productive way, it’s just someone having a verbal panic attack at me. So I skip.

abby_dowdI ADORE This Podcast & Both Hosts!!!!I don’t ever, ever write reviews for podcasts but I’m making an exception here because I am so grateful for this podcast. Every time I listen, I am so entertained, I am so delighted, I am so wrapped up in the story-telling and banter, and I laugh out loud so much. The hosts are both so warm and lovely and I love listening to them. This has become a true comfort for me and so I want to say a bigTHANK YOU for this podcast!!!!

woozycricketLove! With one caveatI’m a long LONG time listener and I LOVE this pod. That said, the political talk is working against the flow of an otherwise enjoyable listen, not because I don’t agree with the hosts’ stances (they spit a lot of truth), but because the pod is recorded so far in advance that the commentary feels late to the party. It feels jarring to rehash topics when there are already new, horrifying things happening in the world, and the punch would land more squarely closer to real time. This is meant to be constructive criticism, because the pod is fab and I love Halle and Alison and everything they stand for. Looking forward to many more years of horror!
-
Olivia SundbergI look forward to Tuesday now!I love the banter between Halle and Alison. I look forward to their updates in the beginning of the pod every time. I feel like one of the girls! I hate scary movies so it’s great to be able to know what happens.
-
peanutbutter&deliMy comfort podThis is 10000 percent my comfort pod and I listen repeatedly. Halle and Allison are so so funny. I can’t get through my week without Ruined! I also enjoy Halle and Alison’s takes on the current politic climate. I know I’m giving my listenership to the correct people. Keep up the good work ladies! You make us laugh, cry, spooked, and most of all feel seen.

-/ellehelle\-This podcast regulates meYES🙌🙌 Normalize “disregulated” as a descriptor. These hosts stay spittin. Haille, you have a gift for articulating exactly what is weighing so heavy on the collective ‘us,’ and then magically dissipating that weight with a scary story. And I am living for the real time updates on what Rizz is doing at all times. It’s like this podcast was made in a lab, scientifically engineered to scratch every mind-itch I didn’t even know was itchy. Neurodivergents welcome. 🙏
-
PeaflyLikeToo much use of “like” as a filler. It makes me peevish and I, sadly, had to stop listening. Otherwise I enjoyed having horror movies ruined!
-
nbiss2727Has Alison Infiltrated Tubi?I was watching one of the movies on Tubi before I listened to the episode. I got an ad for lifelock, in order to protect my identity from being stolen. Alison, was that you??? Thanks for such a great show!!
-
AndylibmoLove the show, but go back to horror movies!Long time listener, first time commenting. Love the show, but please go back to hardcore horror ASAP… this last month was a bit meh. Michael Haneke is an amazing director, but his movies don’t fit with the genre.
-
lordjesus123🇵🇸Love this podcast and wanted to reiterate other comments I’ve seen but this is one of the only podcasts that brings up politics and I appreciate It so much. Thanks for talking about what’s happening and for always talking about the genocide in Gaza.
-
FzzzzzzztLove love love love love itA friend recommended this podcast to me a couple of months ago and I’ve listened to little else since then. Come for the insightful recaps (which often do a better job of helping the movie get where it’s going than the actual movie does), stay for the whip-smart snacky little jokes Halle and Alison make along the way. This podcast is a great way to “rewatch” a movie you’ve seen or to “watch” one you haven’t. Not sure how I’ll eel about it when I’ve made it all the way through their catalog… 🥺 Thanks for all this, you sassy gals! 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

halloweencandy4uNecessary escapeI like listening to the weekly update on political issues, sometimes helps remind me that I am not alone. Podcasting sometimes seems very male dominant and I like to listen to this podcast and “too scary didn’t watch”.
-
@ActuallyitsbradGenuinely WonderfulThe podcasting world is full of a lot of misses but this show has that perfect blend of humor and story. The hosts are genuine and give the vibe of hanging out and just talking about a movie one of them has seen. Such a comfort listen.
-
pipiyoyjoeObsessedThese lovely ladies are hilarious and insightful, Halle does a great job as a story teller and Allison gives us all the best reactions. Reminds me of the early days of My Favorite Murder. Obsessed.
-
DakotamooreYou’re just smarter I guessWhat does telling half your audience that they’re “just dumb and don’t get it” with the election? We’re here for movies, you’re not even part of Crooked media anymore. Long time listener as an escape. But you two just blasting the people who voted different from us isn’t logical. I get this episode was from right after election. But still “half the country is just racist and sexists”? Really? Thought better of you with your experience in the field. Stick to films

Buffster21Always a Good TimeTruly one of my favorite podcasts! As a horror fan, I love listening to Halle ruin my favorite movies for Alison. My boyfriend and I live a little over an hour away, and this podcast makes the weekly trips fly by because it’s so entertaining. The format is fun, Halle’s storytelling is great, and Alison’s reactions are hysterically funny. Great chemistry between them both, and it’s always a good time.
-
RambowinsBasedThey make cuckservatives seethe, which is funny. Great podcast and excellent job at retelling the story of the movies and the chemistry between the two is genuine and just fun to listen too.
-
florafaunamerriweatherYesThis podcast hits all the right notes for me, and I find myself listening to episode after episode. It feels like an audiobook but even more fun with their dry humor and quick asides. They’re doing it right! Thank you 💜
-
BreedoeeI love this podcast ❤️I love the way Halle ruins the movies and Alison’s reactions to the movies are perfect!
-
gheebutternsnapAs a huge horror fan…I love this podcast. The hosts are amazing. I started listening a month ago currently, 2/3 the way through the catalog. Came here from what a weekday. Would love a crossover pod, similar to your Freddys v jason , your aliens v predator, your Annabelles v Brahms.
-
TheLocust1313Scaredeee cats unite!I can’t watch horror movies because I’m too scared. But this helps me enjoy them with a great narrative recap, laughs, and lets me know what my friends are talking about. 5 Alison gasps!

New York MigRegarding “The Pyramid” EpisodeIn the episode for the film “The Pyramid”, Alison Leiby identified Eric Adams as the first Black mayor of New York City. He is not. David Dinkins was the first Black mayor of New York City back in the early 1990s. Mayor Dinkins initiated several policies which would take years to bear fruit in regard to crime reduction and social services. This long term approach allowed for Rudy Giuliani to unseat Mayor Dinkins after Dinkins’ one and only term, in the process taking credit for Mayor Dinkins’ policies which, as stated earlier, finally started bearing fruit in regards to crime reduction and social services. By the way, you guys should ruin 1985’s Day of the Dead. That’s a great film.

TreDogg2.0My favorite podcastAbsolutely love this podcast and even if you’re not a horror fan it’s great and so funny!

-
CandiedMolarsFabulous PodcastFabulous chemistry, horror recaps, and politics! Always have to listen in as soon as an episode drops!
-
BAW70Political PSI really like these chicks. I enjoyed their show and then they got all political and started bashing Trump and conservatives instead of just putting out awesome horror. Movie episodes. Trashed a good thing ladies. Don’t waste your time if you don’t wanna hear any political garbage from either side you just wanna listen to fun podcasts because these ladies aren’t that. Sad.
-
Paramadness00Love this podcast! The hosts have such amazing chemistry and I never miss an episode! You have to try this podcast!!!
-
Hellogoodbye1988Love!Love this podcast. Was ruining horror movies myself by reading the Wikipedia but this is much more fun.
-
gdgstyduifvj333321AddictedAddicted to Diet Coke addicted to Ruined addicted to the void 👍🏾
-
Rosie_Dee6912Love the show but…Enough with the politics. Hard leaning left views. You do realize EVERYBODY listens right? I listen to hear a horror films not your incorrect political opinions
-
c.hillis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is the best horror recap/spoiler pod out there! The hosts are a joy to listen to and truly every episode is worth a 5 star rating.

no_itsjennyNot a night goes by…If I could only remember this four digit code for the parking lot, I could get settled in my room for the night, and finally relax. I sat in a zoned off state, hrmph; what was it? Forty five…. my mind trails off in a haze. It’s late, I put my Wrangler in park in front of the gate. Staring at the keypad to my left, as if the numbers will light up or suddenly dance before my eyes, I clutch the 99cent coffee from the gas station I passed on the way into town. The attendant had assured me the pot was fresh, but as I taste it now, I beg to differ. Thinking out loud I say four nine five oh, FOUR NINE FIVE OH! I reach to place the coffee down when two headlights shine in the rearview. Hmm. I reach for the button to open the window, when, straight ahead, as if out of nowhere, a figure is perched between myself and the gate. Holy SH!!!nickees. What? What is.. who is that? I gulp, the last sip of coffee still fresh on my lips. In a moment of sheer terror, it clicks… the attendant from the gas station is standing directly between the front of my car and the gate. If my heart weren’t … racing … enough … I would… what? My thoughts become… foggy. I reach to turn the ignition on, when I see out of the corner of my eye, he is now at my driver’s side window. I try to keep my focus, but suddenly my arms are heavier than my head. I place my forehead on the steering wheel, and turn slightly to look into the man’s eyes. He smirks, didn’t I tell you I had just made you a fresh pot…?

Miss Bunny619Great podcast, but…I love this show! It’s wonderful to find a movie podcast where they actually appreciate the genre. I’ve discovered movies I hadn’t heard about, since they delve into less obscure offerings as well as more mainstream releases. I’ve been binging through the back catalogue during a rough personal time, and the show always cheers me up. That said, I was kind of upset when I found out that Alison murdered Halle. Halle is now a haunted porcelain doll, and hangs out with Brahams in her spare time. I heard M3gan is angling for a thruple, but Halle and Brahams aren’t sure if her AI nature will blend with their cursed spirits. ALISON, WILL YOU SURVIVE?

Chess fan1234Everything is RuinedIt was a wet meadow, more bog than green field with high rocky peaks rising to the north and south and a long shallow valley rising behind me, an ancient glacier’s path, I suppose. Clouds stood tall to the west, dark and heavy with snow, where only a few minutes ago, the afternoon sun had been solo in a blue expanse. How do these storms arrive so fast? One of my boots slipped from a tussock of grass into an almost invisible pool of water but weirdly deep. Water flooded the boot, soaking the sock with icy water. Ahead, the heavily wooded valley dropped down to the west before curving south. In a moment, snow flew thick with huge flakes. I turned back, unsure of which way was back. Instead of peaks and a sloping rise, all was the uniform white of dense flurries of snow. “Well, this ruins everything,” I said, to no one. The temperature dropped fast. After crossing a bog and a thick hedge of trees, I stumbled into another pool, hidden beneath the fast-falling snow. A few minutes later, I sighed in relief. There, in the snow at my feet was another set of tracks. Someone else was out here, headed back to the road! If I could find the road, I’d find my pickup. I knew it. I followed the tracks across a bog and through a belt of trees and past a half-frozen pool with broken ice where my guide had stumbled in. Then, I saw a second pair of footprints. My heart sunk. The tracks were my own. I was tired. Scared. Unprepared for weather like this. I sank to my knees. I was tired. Deeply cold. Exhausted. “It’s no good,” I said. “Everything is ruined.” Thank God my earbuds still worked. Somehow, my phone did too. I didn’t care about anything else. I just needed a horror movie to be ruined… just for me… just for me.

FairyFilesIt was supposed to stopIt wasn't supposed to happen: I thought I was done. I completed the Rite of Removal, but I can still hear the voices. The days are full of acurséd tales of terror, and constant, insane giggles between. Hallie and Allison... haunt me. My life feels Ruined. —this is my favorite podcast and I wait impatiently every week for a new episode!
-
heidivanderleePolitics are also a horror movie soooKeep it up. Been listening since the beginning and it’s somehow the most calming and terrifying show at the same time. #friendoftheunion #keepcrookedprogressive
-
DisMelisLove your showI’ve been a listener for years and SUCH a fan but…. Can y’all please quit spending sooo much time on politics. Just reign it in a bit. Most of the time, I agree with what you are saying but it would be nice to not be hit with “the world is ending” for the first 15 minutes. Still love you though

PyndiaDark forces at workUpon listening to the soothing sounds of the episode I was lulled to sleep almost as if under a spell. While my body lie unconscious, I could sense something wrong I opened my eyes but couldn’t move my body as I stare in horror at a shadow pulling itself from my torso. It grabbed a pencil I keep by my bedside for dream journaling and began carving into my chest right above my heart. I screamed and screamed but no one heard me and woke with a start. It was just a dream, but when I lifted my shirt I saw Halle and Allison’s initials in a pentagram over my heart. Thank you for my only means of horror movie content bc I’ll never watch them lol. You guys are great and I love the show. I even got a couple of my friends into it as well. -Cyndi K.

PalomaBlanca00FavoriteThis is one of my new favorite podcasts. I was specifically trying to find women recapping horror. I’ve found a lot of the pods with mostly men can be a bit too bro-y for me. Halle and Alison are funny and pleasant to listen to. New favorite!
-
Anthony8918Love it!This show is so good. Halle and Allison are more entertaining than the movies themselves sometimes. I have watched a movie after an episode and thought “oh this movie is not good but Halle’s descriptions are top notch”
-
BGDemLove the pod! Love you!Gals! Have I got a movie for you! It’s called “Deadloch”. It boasts: Tongue chopping, tons of conflict, a potty-mouthed Aussie cop, and a Tasmanian setting. It happens to be 8 hrs long. And, it’s cut into episodes. But trust me, it is just like a fabulous film. More for fun than a Ruined episode. Love you both! Love the pod!
-
VaporeonTrainerIt’s alright, butCan you please put year the movie was released on EVERY episode title, please? There are lots of movies out there with same names and sometimes I’m 15 mins in before I realize it wasn’t the movie I thought it was. Also, PLEASE let Alison speak. It seems like she can never get a word in edgewise because Halle never shuts up.
