grumpy old writer“WKRP-Cast” is great!I don’t regularly listen to podcasts, but I adore this one. It’s clearly made with love, and a lot of work must have gone into creating it. For me, this is a bit like going back in a time machine… back to when I was 12 or 13 and watching WKRP in its first run with my family. That’s a good memory for me. Listening to this consistently makes me happy. Not much else can be counted on to do that these days. Big thanks to the Stares for making this podcast. When I finally reach the last episode of it, I’ll probably start over at the beginning.

my3boysonlyBig fan of the show and this podcastBeen listening continuously since I found it. Great podcast with fun hosts. Their enjoyment of the show and each other adds to the great guests and background of working in radio.

Christopher Todd DavisWhat am I supposed to do now?I just finished every episode of this podcast and I’m bummed. I cannot express just how much I enjoyed this series. Donna and Allen did such an amazing job. Not only do you get to relive the series, but the way give background on all the pop culture references that come up in the show really shows just how much time, care and love they put into every single episode. I may have to just start over from the beginning…

40 For 60Don’t be afraid to dive in…..I have to admit I am new to the podcast arena…..and this was my first one to try. At first, I was very skeptical…..but once you get to “know” Allen and Donna, they be some the “go-to” couple you wish you were friends with. I have been a fan of WKRP since day one; Johnny Fever was my inspiration for choosing a radio career. I didn’t stay in radio, but the show has been with me all these years……and this podcast is just the thing I needed. From programming details, interviews with cast and crew, field trips, fashion alerts, trivia, etc., Allen and Donna never fail to entertain……their passion for the show is clearly evident in their presentation. Give this podcast a listen…..and I promise you will come away with not only a new appreciation of a highly under appreciated show, but with a smile and lots of warm fuzzies.😎👍🏼

generic90If they only focused on the show itself…I have long been a huge fan of “WKRP In Cincinnati”, so was excited to find this podcast, hoping that it would be a fun deep-dive into the episodes. I tried…I really tried. I listened to each podcast covering the episodes in the first two seasons. It’s clear the hosts are equally passionate about the show, and there is fun to be had - when they concentrate on the episode and the show’s related facts. But I just can’t listen anymore. Each podcast gets so terribly diverted off to an avalanche of tedious, useless, unrelated minutiae tied to some quote or offhand reference. Five minutes on Marilyn Monroe here, two minutes on Fruit of the Loom there…it’s just too much. It makes the podcast insufferable, because it turns the podcast into the worst type of “saccharine” syndicated morning radio program. I’d gladly trade a little less time in a podcast episode for more focus on what made “WKRP” so timeless. Hopefully someone can do this better.

Dean BibbSeason Two And The Hits Keep Coming! The WKRP-Cast is a masterpiece! The power duo of The Stares continue to impress as they dig deep into every aspect of WKRP In Cincinnati including the regular stars and bit players, the behind the scenes decision making process and the culture in which the show exists. There is weight and meaning behind the clothes (Herb Tarlek Fashion Alert!) the songs (anybody recall the band City Boy?) the neighborhoods and locations visited (exactly where was the King Kong Lounge, anyway?) tough subjects such as divorce, child abandonment, army desertion and, of course, payola. Thank you, Allen and Donna, for the hard work on this, my favorite podcast, fellow babies! May the good news be yours!

Scott ListenerTalk About A DEEP Dive! This is an amzing show that leaves no stone unturned when it comes to one of my favorite televisions shows. Thatnks for all tha hard work you put into this amazing show!

MeatmaskCmon guysReally enjoy the WKRP talk. But for gosh sakes stay on WKRP! I’m trying to listen to the pod from beginning to end. I’ve made it to the Funeral Commercial episode and am really close to giving up. The extra stuff about Marilyn Monroe is just too much. And the historical reference as if we who listen have no concept of life in the 70s is killing me. Was so excited when I first found it now am dying inside just trying to hear about WKRP and sick of the sappy banter and insignificant data. Ugh.

BNLJeffatYahoo.comAs God is my witness, I thought this was the best WKRP podcastThere have been other attempts at WKRP podcasts in the past, but this one is the best. It’s hosted by “radio guy” Allan Stare and his lovely wife Donna. They have a love for the source material you won’t find on any other re-watch podcast. The Les Nessman bandage report alone makes this show worth the listen. Herb Tarlek Fashion Alert/Warning is always hilarious. Keep up the good work!

Strigidae_StrixSo much fun!So happy I found this podcast! It is funny, informative, and brings back great memories of a great show! Allen and Donna are fantastic hosts and I always learn lots about the show and other random things! Thanks for keeping my favorite show alive and well.

wearl1973Think of me once in a whileFive star rating; haven’t listened. Found out about this pod on the Radio Labyrinth podcast.

jamochaSo funny I dropped my gun…I love that this couple is so dedicated. This is a tight show about the lowbrow humor targeted at a smart audience. One of the hosts draws from a deep history of working at radio stations which puts the WKRP story in a unique light.
-
VideoNastyIVBrings it all right back!!Although WKRP is an AM station, FM stations in t 1970’s were almost exactly like this. DJ’a spinning their own tunes with crazy on-air personalities. Granted, the behind the scenes stuff probably weren’t as zany, but that’s what made WKRP one of the funniest sit-com’s in TV history. This podcast is an absolutely FANtastic look back on “when radio was radio!”
-
MadixxmarieReally enjoying this podcast!I am really enjoying the new WKRP-Cast. If you are a fan of the show WKRP in Cincinnati, you will dig it. The hosts, Allen and Donna Stare, are super knowledgeable, have classic radio voices, and they dig into the minutiae of the show, episode by episode! Their research is astonishing, down to which magazines are in the racks on the wall, where Les' band-aid is located in each episode, what Herb is wearing, and even which episodes Loni Anderson might not have been wearing a bra. Important things! A fun look at the show and the late '70's/early '80's era when the show was broadcast.

D. FykeThanks for something fun and informative!I just found your podcast. I am so glad you are doing this show. I love WKRP and you guys make listening fun! I will be a listener for sure.

zfgjghjrgdhdggtjhghgFinally a podcast I like!I normally hate podcasts because they always feel disorganized and like I’m eavesdropping on someone’s conversation without connection. This podcast just feels more organized and extremely well delivered without it feeling like it is totally scripted. The “insider” view of what life in radio is like is a HUGE bonus for this. This podcast is easily one of the best I’ve run across. And WKRP is a great topic for this as well. Excellent!
-
REQ_Detailed and FunAs a fan since the show’s debut in 1978, I thought I knew everything there was to know about WKRP. This podcast is fun and there’s always a nugget or two that I learn from it each week. Keep up the great work fellow babies!

sjjdrumsWowFor a fan of the workings of a ‘70’s radio Station, this podcast rocks! Got my class 2 at 15 and never missed an episode. Btw, found the shout box set for 30 bucks!

CapSuperAs God as my witness…I can say that this is a great podcast! Far superior than the other WKRP podcast. There are two things that make this an excellent listen. 1. It's under an hour. When podcasts drone on longer than an hour my mind wanders, the show becomes background noise like the air conditioner, and I'm not even paying attention anymore. 2. They STAY ON TOPIC!!!! It's about the episode they're discussing. No loooooong diversions into how white belts are made or the origins, what kind of band aids there are in the world that Richard Sanders could've chose from, no history of pineapple pizza. Everything discussed here is about THE episode they’re covering. And there are the other perks. It's very well produced, and fun to listen to. OMG, I freakin' love this podcast! CANNOT wait to hear more episodes!!!!
