Defining Duke is probably the best Xbox podcast I’ve ever listened too. I like that they take Xbox to task along with celebrating the things that Xbox is doing well. What makes the show special is the chemistry between the two hosts, both bring their own unique personalities and specialties to the show. ‘ First Matt, the dude works really hard to make Defining Duke the best that it could possibly be. I look toward to his sometimes absurd takes on video games, and his overall week to week analysis is a pleasure Cog sort of is just the bright light of the show. Always seemingly the optimistic. I just love that his love of games shines through in the podcast. In a world where everyone just complains about everything. It’s nice to feel that positive energy here. I like this show and it’s made me more in tune with the Xbox ecosystem. Keep up the good work. Update 5/18/24 This is probably a year later… I like this show quite a bit for someone who’s mostly a PlayStation user who owns an Xbox. I think Matty is great and I think he’s highly underrated as a commentator in this video game space and I think he sees this pretty clearly and has a good eye for the Xbox brand good or bad Cog is a nice guy and when he talks about games is when he’s at his best… I do think he has a bias when it comes to Xbox and doesn’t see the company with conpletely open eyes… he tends to defend the company instead of holding them to the fire. Recently they had a third person on there with Bradley and I actually found the dynamic to be much better with a third guy there. Anyway I still enjoy this show, and when the show is discussing games it’s at its best.. when it gets down to analyzing Xbox as a company there’s only one person I take seriously on this show.

Started listening to this podcast a few years ago and it has been the only podcast that has kept me coming back week after week. It may be an Xbox podcast but MrMattyPlays and Lord Cognito are the definition of true gamers. Highly critical of their preferred platform but have no issue talking about what other platforms do very well and what they would like to see Xbox change. These guys have the ability to talk things into existence. Max Payne Remake, Splinter Cell remake…if you wanted it and it came to fruition, these guys are the reason! Mix in health and food tips and you’ll be questioning whether or not you should be eating Mac n Cheese with a fork or a spoon while trying to figure out what Gamepass game to play next. In all seriousness, these guys bring a lot of joy into life and it is much needed for a lot of people. Highly recommend this podcast. And to the Dukes: Cog - try not to get bodied in the forest too much. Matty - I hope you NEVER have to use grass again for a defining deuce. Hope you guys have a “looking forward to the next game in the backlog then getting the fallout bug only to find out Star Wars Jedi Survivor has entered Game Pass” kind of day.

Defining duke is one of my favorite podcast. the info they bring and the analysis of it between cog and Mattie is insightful and a real pleasure to listen too. I like gaming and spend a lot of time gaming but my passion and love is racing yet the dukes take priority over all my racing podcast even if I can only listen to one for the week. Keep up the great work guys

Been following Last Stand for a minute now and I came here to show further support to one the best podcasts in the game. Matty and Cog are fantastic hosts of this Xbox centered podcast, but you do not need to be an Xbox to enjoy the show.

Xbox show with great cohost chemistry and a way to get level-headed news and analysis. We all know if you catch your partner out in the club, it most likely ain't a one-time thing. Five-star podcast.

Been listening to the Dukes since COG joined the show and have thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry and hilarity that takes place on Duke. I’ve been a PlayStation OnlyFan since ‘96 but the Dukes convinced me to pick up a series x and let me tell you, I’ve had a blast. As a tired dad of a Tarzan two year old and one due in October I struggle to find time to game like I used too but listening to the Dukes helps keep my FOMO from creeping in. I'm a pc guy and haven't cared about xbox in a long time, but this podcast is still so much fun to listen to. Funny and informative, the two dukes have great chemistry. There's been some talk about adding a third guy. Make that guy Gene Park and I will become a patreon member, I swear it. He likes xbox but isn't an xbox fanboy so he could bring some balance to the force. Jokes aside, his chemistry was great with you two in the most recent episode.

If you only listen to one podcast a week. It should probably be the Xbox Two with Jez Corden and Rand_Al_thor19. However, if you listen to more than one podcast a week then Defining Duke needs to be in your rotation. As Defining Duke is more than a gaming podcast it’s a lifestyle podcast where health, embarrassing bathroom stories, fork and spoon debates along with educational moments like the correct way to eat Oreos and a certain host slash game developer’s bad macaroni and cheese takes are discussed each week. So try not to let Matty’s bad food opinions scare you off as if they do you you will be missing out on one of the best sources for unbiased and honest takes on not only xbox but the gaming industry at large who have worked there way into becoming the Crown Jewel of the Last Stand Media Empire.

Originally I came from Matty's channel after watching his content for years and at first I would only listen to segments that interested me to hear Matty talk so I was not big on Cog at first, but after listing for over a year now, Cog has completely won me over and seems like one of the most caring and genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of listening too. Now I tune in every week and listen from start to finish, It is a joy to hear these two insightful and funny hosts talk, and they always manage to leave me wanting more. Also, as a guy who was once obese to who is now a bodybuilder the health talk is always appreciated, keep up the good work boys, health is wealth..

Getting Duked down for 3-4 hours every week is almost too much to handle! The chemistry between these two “straight” men is stronger than most couples I’ve seen. Cog is entertaining, well spoken, and a joy to listen to. Matty’s there too. A dope listen every week, would recommend to any gaming fan!

Heard a slanderous review on the latest episode and just had to update my already glowing review of this awesome podcast. I’ve been listening since late 2022 and this has become a favorite podcast. First I gotta defend my boy Matty. He is one of my favorite game analysts out there. You can tell he puts a lot of thought into his reviews and opinions. He’s fair and balanced giving Xbox the praise or the smoke as needed. And his insight on Bethesda is second to none, steeped with history and genuine love. His will be the Starfield review I watch first. As for Cog, I can’t say enough good things about this guy. His respectful, positive voice has quickly made him one of my absolute favorite personalities in gaming. And he cracks me up, literally laughing out loud while listening to the show. He’s an inspiration in this often toxic world of gaming shows. (P.S. shoutout to The Iron Lords podcast for more of Cog. The episodes are epic in length but heartfelt and hilarious. DD is hands down one of the reasons why I don’t go crazy throughout the work week. The duke’s chemistry is unmatched and their knowledge of the industry makes every listen worth the time. One negative though is Matty’s choice of being a Rangers fan. No worries that’s doesn’t change the fact that he is a great host. (Lets go Devils!)

It’s not my favorite gaming podcast but it’s a reliable source for Xbox news. Cognito is the shows saving grace. If I had to only hear the other guy ramble this show would be dead.

Really like the attitude that Matty and Cog bring with their positivity. However, the fanboy stuff gets annoying and even more annoying when they start preaching about other fanboys. I know they don’t want a third person but I think it’s partly because they are worried about any kind of push back on their thoughts. Overall, a decent show with a lot of potential, but I don’t listen every week or crave for more content for these reasons.

Matty and Cog are one of the best duos I have ever listened to. I learn soo much more about the gaming industry from this duo than I could ever learn on my own. They have the insights and knowledge of the industry, I mean, in case you didn't know, Matty is making a game after all. I was always a playstation fan but after seeing a lot of the nickel and diming methods they are using, I'm starting to swing to team green. Before listening to this podcast I've never even been interested in an Xbox, but these two have shown me all the value coming from Microsoft, and I went out and got a series X and gamepass and I'm loving it. Thanks guys. By the way, Matty was right about the Logitech GCLOUD, I'm loving that handheld for remote play. Once again, something I never would of heard of if it wasn't for DDU. I look forward to both podcasts every week as I'm a USPS mail carrier, and they help me get though my work week. Thanks guys and keep that podcast train rolling.

Matty and Cog are the greatest duo since Hogan and Savage! Mega Powers! Not only is Defining Duke my favorite gaming podcast, it’s my favorite podcast! These gentlemen bring it every week with thoughtful takes, great chemistry and an all around great vibe. Although this is an Xbox podcast, these dudes are gamers, and they talk about games on all platforms without any of the fan boy nonsense. Highly recommend 7⭐️DD

No matter what console you may vigorously defend to random individuals on the internet, this podcast is worth a listen! Both the hosts are geniune gaming enthusiasts and the energy/passion is always top notch! The ONLY ISSUE with the podcast is that Matty is a Rangers fan but as a forgiving individual, I will look past his shortcomings! Go Penguins! Lol.

I was already giving up on this podcast, as I got tired of sitting through 20 minutes an episode of the hosts patting themselves on the back and ego stroking, but the recent diatribe about how they are beyond bias when having relationships with figures In the industry they cover is a joke. It can be ok to have bias, just admit it and admit that your coverage may not be 100% reliable. Because it’s not. You’re talking about video games. It’s not that deep. There are better, more knowledgeable podcasts without the aforementioned constant self congratulation and delusional takes.

Very enjoyable listen every week. The podcast is Informative and neutral while also being funny and laidback. Shoutout to Matty and his game. Shoutout to Cog and all his shoutouts.

I like defining duke because it’s about gaming. While the Dukes do have some side banter from time to time I know that when I listen to this pod that it’s gonna be about the industry, and games first, and anything else second. Matty and Cog keep it real 100% of the time and I like that they’re willing to talk about games on other platforms in addition to Xbox to make it a more well rounded discussion. Defining Duke is the ultimate XBOX podcast. Matty and Lord Cog have such good banter that I became a fan of the podcast before I was in the XBOX ecosystem. They both bring their own indiviual ideas and thoughts to the news and discusion topics. This is very refershing and makes the podcast intresting while keeping the fun. You know you are getting real industry secrets because Matty is actualy making a game. If you like fun give this podcast a chance. I’m a hardcore PlayStation fan, and as an avid listener of Sacred Symbols for a number of years I decided to check out its Xbox themed sister show, Defining Duke, as a way to keep tabs on the “enemy.” Once I started listening however, I realized that somehow I had never made the connection that Matty from Defining Duke was the same Matty from YouTube who’s videos I watch all the time. After recovering from that severe case of dumbassery, I kept listening to the show regularly even though I didn’t own any Xbox products. Last Christmas I was gifted a Series S (shoutout to the little man 👊🏻) and have really enjoyed going back through all of the games on GamePass that I missed out on only playing on PlayStation. The other host, Lord Cog, is great too and offers a lot of interesting insight into the industry. Both hosts have great taste in games and I’ve enjoyed checking out the games from their GamePass pick of the week segment. Even if you primarily play on a different platform and don’t even own an Xbox, I highly recommend listening to Defining Duke. It’s great to hear the other side’s perspective on topics like the seemingly never ending ABK saga, and they’re just enjoyable guys to listen to…so go listen! 5/5 Great Show! P.S. Great podcast, that’s works best because of the chemistry between these two, and this is from a primarily PC/PS5 gamer. I’m all for the two man podcast except for those special occasions, as it does keep the shows under the 4 hour mark, unlike another LSM pod I just can’t keep up with anymore. (Only slight shade!) The Dukes put Microsoft to shame in terms of consistency and quality. I’ve easily spent more time listening to these kings than I’ve spent playing my Series S. Their show is thoughtful, intelligent, often hilarious and oozing with positive vibes. Salute to y’all and keep up the excellent work!

I love when the Dukes do crossovers with the Xbox Two, and I wanted to take this opportunity to suggest a potential guest for the show: Mortismal Gaming. He covers a lot of RPGs, especially CRPGs like Wasteland 3 and Pillars of Eternity. And as hype builds for Avowed and eventually Clockwork Revolution over the next year, he could be a really insightful guest to talk to about Obsidian and InXile and what you're hoping for out of their upcoming games. Not sure if yall know of him already, but at least I figured he's worth checking out since all three of you share a love for RPGs with choice and consequence. Plus, maybe this will spur Matty to finally play Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2 (and Cog if he hasn't played them either). If you love Obsidian you're sleeping on these games!

Matty ans Cog are 2 of the best podcasters around. Always guaranteed to have a good 2-4 hours with these very insightful and funny guys. Just listen once and you’ll be hooked and you’ll see they know what they’re talking about. Especially since Matty is making his own game so he has to know all about games right?

I really think a third person on the show would make this podcast better especially for how long it is. Just 2 people going back and forth with no live audience to chime in gets stale after a while, otherwise I love what you guys do!

I don’t own an Xbox, yet Defining Duke has managed to become my favorite gaming podcast (sorry Sacred Symbols, still got love for you).
