Mets’d Up BoysNice series win but Baty man…Good evening guys, this is Gavin. Good series win but man Baty keeps shooting himself in the foot. He gets behind every time he is up to bat. He made a big error today too. His time is up. We really need Jeff back! Let’s go beat the A’s and let’s have Lindor, Soto and Pete drive some balls out of their minor league ballpark! LGM!

DeeeeeeeeeelanConcerns about Alvarez?First off, Best mets podcast out there. Enough said. Question though: Are we concerned about Alvarez? His new swing sounds nice in theory and he hit a few nukes in live BP. But he’s striking out around 50% of the time against less than MLB competition. He’s softly slapping balls the other way and pull-side is topped grounders. He seems physically uncomfortable swinging (of-course thats subjective) when he used to look confident and strong. I, personally, am not a fan of the “Hit singles the other way” approach. I like the idea of pulling fly balls and line drives for a guy like Alvy. Im wondering if he may only be focusing on hitting outside pitches the other way because its swing training or if Eric Chavez is killing our beautiful young catcher. What are your guys thoughts? Love the pod LFGM

Taso PapadopoulosLove the AnalysisHey guys I just want to say I really do enjoy the pod, especially when you dive into different nuances and show how much of baseball nerds you guys are. Truly appreciate the general love for the game you guys have.

Jakob UsernameIsTakenEvery Fanbase Wishes They Had A Pod Like ThisI’m a Rangers fan from Texas, but the perspective that Mets’d Up brings has made the Mets my second favorite team to watch and root for. It helps that my NFL fandom means lifelong enmity with the city of Philadelphia and a general distaste for Washington D.C.‘s sports teams… Marc and James strike the perfect balance of being excited fans while also viewing the game through the modern lens of efficiency and analytical evaluation. Nobody else in baseball media pulls that off without being inconsistent or blindly carrying water for the team. Like the title of this review, every fanbase wishes they had a pod like this. I’d listen to James talk ball for hours and hours. GiraffeNeckMarc’s 85 million YouTube views means tons of people already do listen to him talk ball for hours and hours. Now, a question for the boys: What’s your favorite market inefficiency in baseball? It can be historical (the value of OBP), present-day (pitch decay and every 1B is a JAG?), one you were early to, et cetera. In the past few years, for example, my favorites are probably arm angle variance in bullpen construction and feeding Minor Leaguers like they’re actually pro athletes. I’ll be whipping up some carbonara when the Mets open the season against Houston. Y’all treat Acuña right, alright? LGM.

Reginald fairfieldEverything but the hosts. It’s hard to find a Mets podcast that records consistently and this one does! Unfortunately, it’s even harder to like these hosts. Pretty easy to see why the organization cut ties.

Mets Fan TrevBest Baseball PodcastBeen listening to the Mets’d Up podcast since the first episode came out in 2021! Simply the best podcast for 2 guys that know ball, how to dissect statistics, and how to interpret the data. Plus they happen to cover my favorite team. As a Mets fan that was raised in North Carolina and now reside in Atlanta (You can boo), I felt so validated to be a Mets fan on Monday when that final out was made at Truist Park. The feeling that poured over me that could be summed up as “Finally” as I looked over at all my coworker’s faces of shock. Finally we were not the ones with the crushed dreams, but FINALLY we were the dream crushers. Then last night happened and Pete gave me even more hope. Ironic that in a different universe Pete Alonso gets out in his last AB as a Met and leaves the team in classic Mets fashion. But in this universe he had his signature moment which could earn him a contract to guarantee he is a lifelong Met. How can you not be romantic about baseball? This team is different. When we literally fall flat on our face, we hit home runs to change how history is written. Next time the Mets are in town against the Braves, let’s make sure to flood the battery with Mets fans boys and maybe we can meet up. Let’s go Mets and remember this is a JOSE BUTTO podcast. We need him next series!

DannyBoyGreenLGMLove these guys. Listening to them is like shooting the breeze with my buddies… who know a whole lot more about baseball than I do! I love that they are realistic without being gloom and doom, and they’re optimistic without having their heads in the clouds. These guys are such New Yorkers… it’s one of the only podcasts I can’t understand on 2x! That’s ok, because slowing it down to 1.5x means I get to spend more time listening. Keep up the good work boys!

indaubbThe best!Love this podcast, my go to podcast for mets insider info.
-
Daumier7Great unique Mets content!I hate that James and Marc are so young but what can I say.... they know Mets ball better than anyone else. Highlights for me are u get to learn about the development of both major and minor league players with actual data to support points and observations. Yet they also exemplify the emotional roller coaster that each Met fan embraces and goes through. I highly recommend watching and hearing.

JFK1!1“He built this team in a cave with sticks!”From “rock bottom” in may to one if the most exciting and resilient seasons Ive ever seen, you guys have put on an incredible show the whole way. Thank you. Lets take care of Atlanta.

ryan stoopsSad To GoHey! You guys have a great podcast and provide great in depth analysis on the Mets! I learned a lot about baseball listening to you guys. Unfortunately your podcast is now rated E so I can’t listen anymore. Thanks for the great content.

Bellsy113EnigmaticI held out writing this review for a while, but my hand has been forced. Thought this was fixed, but I heard it again in the most recent episode and I had to step in. James, I’m here to save you. When you want to describe an event that is representative of a player or the team, the correct word is EMBLEMATIC not ENIGMATIC. Enigmatic means mysterious! Best of luck, love the podcast, you guys are great!
-
Mike & JoDeadlineHey Marc and James, love the podcast, have been watching and listening since early 2021, and met both of you back in 2022 at the Queens Baseball Convention! With the season coming to a close, who do you think will be the mets “hero” to a potential playoff run also we need to end the DJ stewart experiment

I love Football Strike😃😃😃LFGMHey guys, been watching Marc since steal a star 11 in 2017 and listening to the podcast since day one, love everything you do P.S James should change back to JeterHadNoRange since you guys are no longer affiliated with the Mets (also can I get a happy birthday since the next episode is on my birthday😉)

theweathercockBest Mets PodDefinitely my #1 Mets podcast. These fellas capture the feeling of chatting with good friends about the Mets, and they sprinkle in some really top tier insights. Simply put, these guys know ball. I really enjoy the crossovers and segments like Media Marvels. I love the stories about what’s going in their lives too and the NYC name drops. I gotta say though, the Levee > Rockarolla! Lgm

Rex GrantOMGLFGM!!2.0Leaving another review as my first one got skipped and I’m as jazzed about the Mets after winning 7 straight as I was after they pants the Yanks back in July! While I listen to every episode, I especially look forward to the ones after a series like this one. I sifted through several Mets podcasts after the Athletic’s Metrospective went dark and Mets’d Up was far and away my favorite. While I still enjoyed it when it was a “company” podcast, I love the newfound freedom the boys have now they’re independent. As a transplant to Denver, the pod keeps me up on what’s going on in Queens and how the farm system is looking. Keep up the good work (and the swearing). P.S. Funny story… until I started following Marc on Twitter I thought he signed off saying his handle was “draft-nik” Marc, a shout out to his affinity for the mlb draft. LOL.

Antonio ZingaropoliAmazing show + Hi Marc and JamesHi Marc and James, Antonio Z from Staten Island here (don’t worry I’m not one of those annoying Staten Island Italian fans.) Been watching Marc since the MLB the show days of 2017 and been watching this show very near the beginning as well. I look forward to the YouTube format video dropping after every single series conclusion. Love the realism and takes on the team as sometimes I get ahead of myself and believe too hard so I need you guys to bring me back a bit. James your analysis is great and I think you’d be just as successful of a YouTuber as Marc if you put your analysis to video form. Marc, love the videos especially the buy or sell. Love the show, have been watching for a long time and will be watching for a long time. Anyways it was nice talking to you guys and I hope you guys have a great day - AZ

Straightshooter411Best Baseball PodcastBeen listening to James and Marc since the beginning of this season and can definitively say they are the best baseball podcast I’ve tried out. They have great chemistry and incredibly deep baseball knowledge that makes every episode both funny and informative. Their insights into the nuances of pitching and the outlook of various prospects are some of the best in the business and I would highly recommend this podcast to any fan of baseball (regardless of whether you support the Mets).

Jerhro09Great stuff! Great stuff!Hopefully, I am not repeating myself because I don’t see my review on the list. These guys are great. I listen to them through the good Times and bad Times. There are too many podcasts that want to be really negative when the Mets lose, but these guys sort of split the middle. Trust me, I hate when the Mets lose a game they should’ve won, but they break it down really well. I also love the Rocka Rolla references!
-
DehbstjnfunBest Mets PodYou guys are both a great listen every episode. Both true Mets fans with great insight and knowledge of the game. Keep it up fellas Also if your ever on LI feel free to stop The Rabbits Foot Bar for some drinks on the house. - T

brad SD Met fanWhat wonderful people!James and Mark. You guys are the supreme team of NY Mets podcasting. I am a San Diego Mets fan, ( not SD South Dakota) and you guys hit the nail on the head about Padres fan base. Perhaps one of the worst fan bases in the country. Very annoying to sit with them when we come into town. I hear chants like “ you’re not the Yankees “. Can anyone get a worse pulse on this ? Anyway, love you guys so much . You guys rock. Brad

Jefferson ZelSouthpawHey James and Marc, big fan of the podcast here, been watching for years. Maybe you can bring on a fan to the podcast once…….. Anyways I want to address one thing about the Mets trade deadline. After DFA’ing Diekman and not trading for a lefty reliever we seemingly have no lefty arms in the pen- Unless Peterson is moved to the pen. Even so, we do not have a reliable lefty to get outs in the bullpen. Coming September I would not like to see the “Young’s” as our only lefty options. What are your thoughts on this unspoken issue. I believe it will be a greater cause for concern in the future.

Jsups!GOAT Mets podcastAs someone who’s moved away from the nyc area and has no one to talk with the Mets about this podcast gives me the Mets insight I need on a daily basis. Also gets me through my hybrid office days. These guys are the goat!

Dr. Virus2015The best pod out thereThese two are the best. Well informed. Good analysis. And extremely fun! I had to finally leave a review today after all the Yankees hate (die hard Mets and Red Sox fan). Religiously listen to them while I am doing work and is the thing I look the most forward to after a series. If you two ever see a guy with a Gil Hodges jersey on a game be sure to say hi. Keep up the good work!

Pat’s StatsDavid Stearns is the GOATAmazing podcast, I’ve been listening since day 1. I’ve watched Marc on YouTube since 2019 and have DM’d a bit with James recently. I’d even regret to admit I’ve occasionally went back and listened to old episodes at times. I just find it interesting to look back and see what we were thinking at various points throughout the 4 years since my thinking almost always aligns with Marc’s and James’. Crazy what was going on not too long ago. Anyway, the depth and content of their analysis is always evolving and truly cannot be found anywhere else. There is no other podcast out there - Mets or any other team - like the Mets’d Up podcast. I hope to meet you guys at Citi Field one day, this podcast has meant a lot to me. P.S. (you don’t have to read this part out loud if you don’t want…this is actually my second time leaving a review. I’ll DM James the story :)

SamG35Trade Deadline QuestionsMarc and James, keep up the great work like always! Just wanted to throw a few names out there as we head toward the trade deadline, guys like Taylor Ward, Victor Vodnik, Luke Jackson, Lucas Erceg, Erick Fedde and Andrew Nardi. Is any combination of those guys realistically attainable? What would it cost? Just wanted to hear your thoughts on some names I like and maybe you do as well Thanks and Go Bucks 🌰, Sam

frankie peppersthe one i wait forlike clockwork, after every series, win, lose, or draw, i wait for this podcast to drop. ever since returning to an independent project, the vibes have been off the charts. james and marc have a gift for balancing perfectly understandable reactions with enough knowledge to stay realistic regardless of of the team record, often manifesting as loud honesty (both positive and critical) and careful optimism (most of the time). the episodes are the perfect length, enough to provide a full recap of the past series and give a detailed preview of the one upcoming with some fun segments along the way. this podcast carpools with me to work, helps me cook dinner, works out with me, keeps me company, and makes the long baseball season that much more enjoyable. lfgm and thank you both for your awesome work!

LTC_LindorI think I know what Pete’s problem isLove the pod gentlemen— just want you two to debate my thoughts and observations here because I love Pete but he’s been frustrating me. I’m no scout nor hitting coach, but I like to think I have the eye for these kinds of things. Pete’s swing in the last two years specifically has gotten longer in his load. If you go back to 2019-2022 and watch his hands, it’s just a subtle raise to get to hitting position. If you watch 2023-2024, the separation of hands and body is much more exaggerated when shifting his weight back (he’s also crouched deeper in his stance but that’s not really my issue here). It seems to be the difference from crush pitches to fouling them off or hitting them as tappers back to the mound. He’s having serious trouble connecting on sliders away and seeing them for strikes instead of chasing in the dirt once twice or three times every night. I believe if he quiets his movements and keeps his hands in a hitting position to start, he’s strong enough and has proven in 2022 his ability to take the ball to right center for doubles and home runs or turn and burn on the inside fastball. Tell me I’m crazy or that there could be something here. I just want my Polar Bear back. Thanks guys, cheers.

PropahThis Old Man Loves This PodcastIf you can remember the Mets winning a World Series you’re not young. If you can remember two - you’re old. I can remember two. I can also remember talking sports all the time with my buddies, and Marc and James remind me of those days. I like their enthusiasm and positivity, without cheerleading. I like that they know their stuff and follow the prospects closely. If they would just talk more about Mets icon Ed Kranepool they’d be perfect.
-
Dom MarraBest Mets podcast out there!!Marc and James, big fan of the Pod from Binghamton, NY. You guys do a great job recapping the series’s as well as giving great analysis on the state of the team in the present and future. Marc, I am going to be a freshman at South Carolina in the fall, do you plan on making any trips down this year? LFGM!! Forever to Thee!!

EdFitzi04LFGMets’d UpLong time listener. This show (along with your doppelgangers over at Shea Station) is the best Mets pod out there! Glad you guys got to live the dream working for the Mets, but are stoked now that you’re back to the better versions of yourselves! Post all-star break ’24 delusional Mets prediction / hot take: I can’t help but dream about the similarities to the ’15 team. 95 games into the season we have an identical record. Not a World Series built roster, but one that could be a team of destiny if things falls right. Similar to ’15 we are lovable, entertaining, a fun mix of vets and young talent, and certainly in the midst a season filled with story lines. Hot take prediction: we trade for a couple reliable mid level relievers like Clippard and Reed were, and then we land the big impact bat in Arozarena who turns his season around and has an MVP 2nd half like Cespedes had. I know we prob don’t want to spend like that, but we’d be buying low on top tier talent. LFGM! Pls don’t break my heart again

bigbinbuddyBest Mets PodcastGreat podcast, really enjoy sitting down and listening to this pod after a Mets series. Makes my day every time a new episode comes out. The guys chemistry is great and they know a lot about baseball. Also, drunk episodes are the best.
-
JoeDiGrigoli912Best Mets podThis Mets podcast is the best out there, Marc and James really know what there talking about. I also love James minor league scouting report and analytics. I’ve been watching Marc since like 2018 he’s the goat. Finally in my opinion as much as I would love to see the Mets in the playoffs cause I’m 18 and they’ve made the playoffs 3 times that I was old enough to remember. I still think they should sell. Guys like severino, Quintana, manea, and garret can get you a decent amount and you could still be competitive with your young guys like Scott and butto and even give chances to vasil and hamel. Oh and also phuck Philly and that weasel garret stubs just cause. LFGM BABY
-
joe6373737An easy listen on all things MetsThank you for keeping a Mets fan from Iowa informed on the team. I enjoy the deep dives into the recent games and also what direction the club may go in the future. Not enough cursing. Need more Fbombs

jackoattackoSo SickLove my boys Luiner and James. Great and unbiased unlike all the loudmouths in NY media. Sproat goat for HOF and Stearns/Mendy are the best. LFGM
