Started listening to the podcast for S14 and I’ve been enjoying the show so far but there is one thing that has bothered me - to start off with I am a plus size POC. The comments the host and guests make about some POC contestants/guest judges (especially black individuals) just seem very… off… in their most recent episode, the guest host used the phrase “big black woman” to describe the guest judge. While obviously you were paying her a compliment by saying you loved her, that phrase was a little off putting and sounded so… strange. They have also used the phrase “black girl magic” and how they are “proud” to see BIPOC succeed but it just comes off as condescending sometimes, like, BIPOC do not need the praise of white individuals. I do NOT think the hosts are racists or that they say these things to hurt people, I would maybe just think twice about how they phrase and say things, because overall it is a very entertaining podcast.
