Hello! While I’m not a doctor, I’m an avid podcast listener, and I found your episode on 'imposter syndrome' incredibly insightful. It resonated with me, as it’s a feeling that transcends careers. Before retiring, I worked in data mining technology, and often found myself as the only woman in the conference room. I, too, struggled with feeling like an imposter, but I always knew how to prove that wasn’t the case. I’m strong, articulate, and unapologetically myself. Thank you both, Dr. McMullen & Dr. Manning, for your wonderful work!

I follow Dr Manning on Twitter and was introduced to their podcast sometime last year I think , and I binged-listened all the available episodes then, and I’ll forever be a student of these two amazing black women healthcare practitioners . I’ve evolved so much by listening to practical lessons and advice which guide my practice as an immigrant RN while navigating dealing with people and situations . I love their “hair stories” and thank you for sharing your time with those of us behind the screen.

This is a podcast that is really needed.

Every time I think an episode is one of my favorites, these two amazing women crank out a new favorite. The bumblebee still flies might be my favorite of all time because I can relate to it so much. It took me back to so many things that I have done or applied for, but if I really thought a lot about it, I probably wouldn’t have. thank you so much for always sharing your stories and humanity with all of us. We are so lucky!

I never write reviews for podcasts but this one every time I listen is such a beautiful look into the goodness of humanity and two lovely friends sharing their own experiences in an awesome way. It recenters me on my own values and reminds me to look for the good in everyone that I encounter. All wrapped up in an interesting and engaging story. Thank you!

Many times I listen on my commute and by the end of each episode, I am in tears from how beautiful their stories come through. This is a podcast for all of us that seek to live our most authentic lives and bring love forth into the world.

As a medical trainee, this podcast is so incredible to hear candid perspectives about how hard this career can be but how important it is and how beautiful it is we get to love and care for people when they’re hurting. I also find so much value in gaining an insight into the experience of my black colleagues so I can love and support them better as well. They speak so much truth and goodness I’ve been thinking about what Dr. Manning and Dr.McMullen said in their “No One Can Tell You What You Know” episode for days. Makes the heart and soul happy

Dr. McMullen’s and Dr. Manning’s wonderfully narrated stories on this podcast help put into perspective many of our daily interactions in medicine that we take for granted. I’ve often cried and laughed with them as they tell these stories, and love every second of these episodes that beautifully capture who they are as humans and physicians. I’ve been a committed listener from the start, and will continue to listen for as long as they give us listeners the privilege of sitting in on their conversations!

It’s immensely therapeutic to listen to these two thoughtful physicians process the complexities of their very human doctor/patient interactions and their own personal growth. It’s also really enjoyable and funny and profound; these often simple but quite wonderful stories will stay with you. Love these women so much and so grateful for their honesty and their wisdom!

Dr Kimberly and Dr Ashley bring the most incredible, human stories and deliver them with so much compassion. Listening to this podcast brings me so much comfort and joy! Their voices kept me sane while I was studying for the MCAT! 💙

Listened to every single episode over the course of a month then went back and listened again. The honesty, vulnerability, insight, and truth bombs are brutal, beautiful, and exactly what we need in the “after times.” My life has been changed and I now operate more wholly as a human and a medical provider. I started with Episode 14 and am now on 8 but could not wait until I finished binge-listening to leave this review. As a Black woman pediatrician who is no longer practicing clinical and academic medicine this podcast is like the best cup of hot chocolate (I don’t do coffee). It’s like easing into your comfy bed after a hard day at work. It’s like putting on a great pair of slippers and your favorite robe. It feels like home. I have cried, laughed, fist-pumped, and smiled ear-to-ear. Well done, my sisters in medicine! Well done.

I just binged all 13 episodes of this podcast in 2 1/2 days. I can’t tell you what a privilege it is (esp as a white healthcare provider) to be let in on the conversation between these two. They are honest, vulnerable, insightful, funny and charming. I can’t wait for the next episode.
