StrawberryJamEntertaining and informativeAlthough The Backyard Naturalists is recorded practically in my own backyard, they explore a wide range of topics and habitats, from the Everglades to Alaska and beyond. While their content is fact-filled, it’s also highly accessible and doesn’t assume listeners are already familiar with their topics. My ten year old enjoys listening in the car as much as I do! Episode idea: the history and disappearance of the American chestnut, and current efforts to restore it.

LavenderiiThanks for this podcast! All the topics are interesting! Very interested in planting natives for all of our pollinators. I like hearing about wildlife and anything about our outdoors

Dcarolina22Love it!I stumbled across this just hoping to find more podcast that spotlight local wildlife. I’ve learned soo much and enjoy each episode even if it may not be a topic I would think I’d find too interesting. So far there hasn’t been an episode I’d skipped. This podcast is motivating to get more involved in our local natural community, so thank you and keep up the good work!

-
JBeadle3Even for a coastal residentEven though I live in Coastal NC, I really am enjoying and learning from the episodes. The hosts are knowledgeable but show their own desire to learn from the guests. The topics are diverse - although would love to see some coastal content if not too far out of scope. Great work Backyard Naturalists!

NeewhopI never miss an episodeAlways informative and entertaining. A little bit different than your typical sparkly internet show, slows down a bit to look around and explore the little nature preserves where we live. Debbie and Laurie bring local knowledge about nature in our backyards. Their guests are often specialists in a particular niche. And the store is a go-to for both our animal and human friends. Highly recommended.
