Behind The Wand: Stories From The Harry Potter Films

49

My name is Flick Miles and I was Hermione Granger’s double in the "Harry Potter" films.

To mark 20 years since the release of the first film, I have decided to get back in touch with some of the most influential people involved in creating the film. They have shared their untold stories and amazing memories of what it was like to bring "Harry Potter" to life. If you want to know what life was really like behind the scenes of "Harry Potter," this is the podcast for you!

    Wonderful
I absolutely love this podcast! I was never really a podcast person until I started listening to this one. I do musical theater and I love learning about the acting world from the view of the crew! I would love to hear some more episodes and I would also love to hear from cast members. I think bringing on some extras would be fun because I know from my experience that when you are an extra and focusing less on your lines and blocking it gives you the chance to take in more of what the other crew and cast members are doing. I also think it would be fun to hear from people like Emma that you worked closely with, Flick. This such an amazing podcast and I love every episode! Thank you so much!

“The podcast is the best I’ve ever heard of!” & I think it would be a great idea for you to get your friend Emma on board with this.

Great for Aspiring Movie-Makers and Hardcore HP Fans
Most Harry Potter podcasts focus on the actors or the storyline. This one really focuses on the crew and behind-the-scenes magic. Flick asks really fantastic questions and allows the guest to answer in detail without interruption. Pros: Flick has a beautiful voice, you get and in-depth picture of how the HP films were created, and aspiring movie-makers get take-aways on how to break into specific fields. Cons: sometimes guests get a little long-winded, and the sounds quality is just okay. You can hear and understand everything, but you can definitely tell we’re listening to a Zoom call (or something like that). I still give this podcast five stars, because I’ve never heard anything like it in the fandom, and Flick is lovely, patient, clever, and asks all the right questions!

    A treat for fans!
I love hearing from so many behind the scenes people who are so instrumental in making a film but I don’t know anything about. There’s lots of fun behind the scenes details and gossip and fascinating information about what actually goes in to making a movie. And a Harry Potter movie at that! If you’re a fan, give it a listen.

    Loads of fun!
This podcast is great! I enjoy hearing from folks that worked on the Harry Potter films that you usually don’t hear from in regular commentaries or interviews. Flick Miles does an excellent job interviewing her guests. It’s a joy listening to her catch up and reminisce with old friends and acquaintances from the films. There’s also plenty of insight into specific behind the scenes processes in filmmaking, like creature effects, cinematography, and of course doubles. Well worth the listen for Harry Potter fans and film buffs alike.
