Another day, another opportunity for Matt to completely steamroll and condescend to a woman guest.

I cover the media and entertainment businesses for my job. I listen to every episode. The Town is entertaining enough to listen while doing my morning routine, and insightful enough for me to make it appointments listening. Every time I listen, I learn something new.

Is this AM radio, “SUCH AND SUCH MOVIE HAS IP APPEAL BUT WILL PROBABLY ONLY DO 140 MILLION.” This a-hole doesn’t like movies

Quite annoying! This is a very crass way to talk about movies

Matt’s interview with Kelly Campbell, President of Peacock, was hard to listen to. She’s the PRESIDENT of Peacock! Stop talking to her like she’s an intern. “This is probably above your pay grade…” What a condescending thing to say to someone that took time to be a guest on your mediocre podcast. And there were multiple comments of this nature that clearly offended the guest.

And I’m happy for it! For well over a year I’ve listened to every episode. Business news is just gossip (complimentary). Matt has a great style and incomparable access. Lucas Shaw adds wonderful detail on Mondays with excellent reporting, and I appreciate when he pushes back. Craig seems like a gem!

this guy is the least engaging listen in the genre of hollywood-reporters-podcasting. it’s fine but he actually gets so much wrong on the film side of the entertainment industry and then just moves on and never reconciles with how wrong he so often is. it’s weird. those pods are still up! get more things right if you’re such an insider lmfaooo.

The problem with this podcast is that Mr. Belloni invites people to discuss interesting topics but he doesn’t let them talk. Eventually he does all the talking because apparently his opinion is the one that counts. That makes for a really boring podcast.

Find someone or something that you love more then Nathan Hubbard loves Taylor Swift and is pretty much begging for a job with her

MB is the ultimate yada, yada when his guest challenges a flippant stance. Topics and guest are great, what he discusses is great. He’s just a jerk 40% of the time. Producer Craig rocks!

It seems like every episode with certain guests has barking dogs in the background. The host seems totally fine with it. I have to skip ahead through the dog barking because it’s unlistenable and miss those parts. Otherwise, the opinions are usually fine.

Making fun of Charles Melton’s kimchi? I thought perhaps this podcast was just boomercore but it’s just flat out bigoted and ignorant. Don’t care how much Hollywood clout they have but it’s just outdated and mean.

Great podcast, but NOT that guest. She is awful, changing her data to support HER beef.

Once again, Matt continues to dismiss the power of reality tv. The only reason I have Peacock is for the Bravo Hub = for the reality world. If Apple had a strong library of reality tv, I’d probably be there too.

She didn’t address one argument besides studios should lean into making movies that are women made regardless of quality or entertainment value or commerciality.

I felt like I was losing my mind listening to her, that woman was insane and totally out of touch with reality. Matthew is great though

My favorite podcast. Great commentary. Smart insights. And frankly a lot of fun. For me, this is MUST LISTEN content. Matt Belloni’s hosting style and quick banter is infectious. Look forward to each episode drop. Bravo, to everyone at The Town!

For the love of god why is this middle aged mediocre white man being interviewed on this show. He’s a sexist imbecile who makes only dated references and has nothing interesting or insightful to say. Bringing him on just demonstrates poor judgement by the producers of this podcast

Would be five stars if the host wasn’t so insufferable.

Matthew needs to allow the opinions of others to be heard and he needs to listen! Stop interrupting on a constant basis. The SNL episode he can’t seem to stop talking. I like the guy and find the topics interesting but it’s hard to overlook his aggressive tone.

Informative, concise and fun. The best way to get perspective on what’s happening in the business.

Who are these listens giving the 1 or 2 star reviews? What are they giving the 90% of garbage that’s out there? jeeze. Matt is a great host. He loves the banter. He’s down to earth, knowledgeable and fun to listen to. Great voice and always informative guests. 5 stars!

I just tried listening to the episode about Paramount and am shocked by how much Matt keeps interrupting his guest and arguing with him. Let the man talk!

Poor performance may have had something to do with the lack of ability to promote it?!? As they say, your slip is showing. Your basic misogynistic view is clearly evident. If this had been a movie with the Chris’s that wasn’t able to be promoted you would have fallen over backwards to explain it away.

As a former media pro, this is smart and fun content. Insights abound, and it makes me laugh.

God forbid Apple use some of their stockpile to support a great artist

Mallory Rubin wrote a great book about the MCU. Let her talk. This episode sounded like Matt using Rubin to merely bounce his own conclusions off of without treating her like an expert guest in the subject (which she is). Not your best. You have to let people actually talk.

Matt is excellent, knowledgeable, so enthusiastic, and fun to listen to and hear about the entertainment industry.

I’m not in any of the industries covered in this podcast (media, entertainment, news) but I still love it. The host knows everything about everything. Puck: can you make a similar podcast about fashion + beauty? As a fashion CEO I would live for an industry insider podcast like this one. Maybe Lauren can host?

I’m lowering my score from 3 to 2 stars. Kept listening. Host is unfortunately too much for me to take; so full of himself. Also it’s like Hollywood has zero women working in it because he never interviews any women. /// I was turned on to this podcast about two months ago. I love hearing about the business side of entertainment (I used to work in this world) but the host is not for me. I have no idea who he is or his background but he comes across as smug and condescending. I have only heard male guests on his show and his delivery is grating on me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s better than having some E-style reporter type, but he doesn’t seem authentic. I get the sense he’s just too over his job at this point. He needs to get a female cohost to help balance the show more.

But for the love of god, Matt, it’s called Warner BROS Discovery. Not “Warner Discovery”

i used to love this show until the writers strike, bellini has acted incredibly dismissive of their concerns and continually called them ridiculous, attention hungry, irrationally twitter angry, ect. I don’t have any affiliation with the writers or california really, but this was incredibly biased and ultimately untrustworthy which has really tainted this show for me.

Belloni does a great job as host of this show. It’s a must listen.

One of my go to listens during week. Prob one of my fave podcast to listen to right now. Provides great insight and debate on insider details on Hollywood and surrounding business around it.

My favorite non sports podcast. The pace and content make it a must listen for me as soon as I’m able each episode. Does a tremendous job educating on an area I’ve always wondered about but would never prioritize. Well done!!

Listen as Matt has all the information available to him and still comes to the wrong conclusions and sounds completely out of touch.

I had found certain parts of what I had believed to had been a certain recording of this "The Town with Matthew Belloni" to had been vulgar (or profane), unnecessary, unprofessional, insulting, disgusting, negative, inconsiderate, and detrimental.

For producer Craig. Sort of can’t stand Matt’s voice after a few minutes. Is there a lisp there? I also feel like Belloni should be pronounced like baloney. Hang in there Craig!

I love Matt’s insight into the industry and his guests are usually really knowledgeable. The prediction gambit is also really good and I like that the producer brings those back in future episodes. Sometimes Matt just interrupts his guest so abruptly and loudly that it’s honestly jarring lol. It doesn’t tank he pod, but just like… an odd decision my guy.
