JaybirdsworldDoesn’t take muchThere isn’t enough room here to list all the problems this one. This will appeal to a certain low information group. Anyone with any critical thinking skills will see through this pretty fast. Great rage listen tho.

☘️🍷Pay attention folksThis is a must listen for everyone
-
ForRealJKPowerfulTelling these stories is important. For white folx or people of privilege it is important that we listen. Wake up every day. For black folx, listen with care. Secondary to the importance of the message, but still very much worth mentioning - Mr. Lacour is an amazing story teller. He is interesting, humorous, introspective, and powerful. I could not stop listening. Kudos to him and his whole team.
-
miss cghA must-listenI wasn’t familiar with this story prior to this podcast. Absolutely required learning, really makes you think in a lot of things! Great host and research
-
ZLB28🔥Great podcast. Very informative. You can hear him putting what happened in his own life in the mix. at first, I was like “we didn’t need to know” but as the story went on? It grew on me. He doesn’t stutter over his words and speaks clearly. Can’t wait to finish!
-
AeolianMode.I remember this story wellI was really pulled in by this podcast and remembering seeing this poor child on the news. Well, I’m grateful for the investigative work done here, I was very disgusted by the.” not gonna pull a black man off the streets for being a pawn”. I’m sorry, but anyone that takes an innocent life should be held accountable.
-
grebneitsGreat storyVery informative and important story.

JenPGreat! One of the best podcasts I have heard in a long time. Yohance is an incredible storyteller.
-
LHW17665OutstandingYohance: I really want to thank you for this. Your reporting is exhaustive and impressive, but even better is your honesty and reflection on Lenard and what happened in 1997 and after . . . and before. It’s really an incredible piece of journalism.
-
Jared T9Interesting voice yet myopic, immatureInteresting story told in an authentic, attention getting style. Narrator is unpolished. He struggles with interjecting his life into the story. Obvious biases and racist attitudes while completely overlooking black on black or black on black crime. 3.5/5. Went with 3 because 4.8 overall is way high. Would like to listen to him produce a podcast that wasn’t as personal or geographically close in proximity. Keep going forward. Do something better

Cubby girl when they winChicago GirlNorthsider… dirty, dirty politics. Clout overrides it all. Listen to this. It’s deeper than black vs. white. Absolutely great storytelling and important. And I thank you for sharing.

everyone take a chill pill please!!So worth your timeThis is a fantastic podcast. So so good. Seriously.

FibchopkinGreat Storyteller, but Pretty Unethical for a JournalistIt’s great to hear the truth of events, and no doubt Yohan is an engaging story teller. It’s amazing to hear another perspective than the wealthy, white, kumbaya one that dominated the news back in the day. But dude, you repeatedly say how much you love black people, and you care about justice for them, but only if they’re the “right” kind of black people, huh? ‘Cause that kid, Mike Cutler, he was black, but you’re more concerned about the hitmen who murdered him than getting justice for him. You’re so worried about being perceived as a snitch, that you tank your credibility as a journalist. Just another thug who’d rather sell heroin to kids than actually do anything to help them.

**CHab**THISI’ve literally never written a review before but felt moved. Loved the style, love the storyteller. Heard every word of the message (I think :)Thank you for telling it straight. The world needs more of your voice. Looking out for your next project.
-
rudyard circleRequired listeningVery well done. Insightful as well as interesting and informative. Love the personal reflection and overall truth telling about insidious racism in Chicago or the USA anywhere.
-
Cmf02860AmazingThis show is perfect for me. I love stories about us, told by us. This story is one I never heard even though I was living in Minnestoa at the time. There are surely more Lenards out there. Bravo! Now that I’m near the end of the podcast, I have developed a special disdain for Rev. Martin. He sabotaged justice, sided against his people, chose white supremacy over Black restoration and made as dishonest about it the entire time.
-
darkskiesaheadAnd now I’ve seen it too“Black life is a series of negotiations that force us to evaluate what our life is worth.”
-
Al&frankA meaningful educationI really appreciated this podcast and it’s perspective that the expectation on black people to immediately turn to forgiveness and reconciliation when they are victims of racial violence is meaningless when the victim is a young boy beaten by white men. The podcaster allows us into his personal thoughts and growth about the situation in a way that feels genuine and fresh. Highly recommend and would love to hear more content from this podcast team
-
MaverickAbundanceThis is so disturbingHow did these boys get away with attempted murder? I feel sick! What the hecking heck!!!!!!!
-
MrsBogRequired listeningI’m incredibly grateful to Apple Podcasts for highlighting this show. It made me uncomfortable in all of the important ways and made me sit and think and think some more.

2024CAskisGreat story, great storytellingOne of my favorite podcasts. The narrator / journalist approaches the subject with such honesty and genuine interest, it’s hard not to start caring about the story. This podcast is relatively simple on its surface but has layers of history and emotion woven in. What I liked most was Mr. Lacour’s honesty in his approach. He doesn’t come across as an expert trying to preach or educate you: he wants to explore the issue with you and share his perspective. I definitely learned something.
-
BusyLawyerMomWifeExcellent writing + storytellingAmazing storytelling, and backed up by thorough research including speaking with folks who were actually involved back in the day. The end leaves me wanting more true stories from Mr. Lacour. I sense he has much, much more to tell and I want to hear it.
-
mscicListen!Never heard this story and so glad I listened. Well done. Love the honesty and insight from the reporter.

CAMA3&1+1You didn’t see NothinYohance, what a compelling podcast. As a southwest side Italian-Irish girl(65 years young) this story brings to life the challenges faced by all nationalities trying to navigate life in this community. I appreciate the honesty and depth of the investigational journalism you conducted. Keep writing. Your viewpoint is valuable.

David's Tee TeeBlah blah blahYour story is no different than hundreds of others. I grew up white in the Bronx, little Catholic school girl, clueless of color. My third grade best friend was Stephanie Trotter and her mom was a substitute teacher. I was told she was negro but it didn’t change a thing for me. Not yet anyway. Yes it was the 60’s and there was a time people were colorblind in my neighborhood. We moved to a different section of the Bronx near where we’d be going to High School. I was on the bus on White Plains Rd and looked up and there was Stephanie. I was so happy to see her but the girl she was with wasn’t happy to see me. That girl told her “Us or Them” and Stephanie lowered her eyes and got off the bus. Tears burned in my eyes and I had a pain in my heart. I was so confused and that was my first lesson of prejudice. I lost my rose colored glasses virginity that day. I told my dad but he had nothing to say to make me understand. As I got older, I met many black people who judged me first. I think many black people did themselves an injustice. It’s all a bunch of B.S. You choose to be a criminal, no one made you one. You chose it. You sold drugs instead of taking an honest job. The projects became battlegrounds because of all the illegal activity. Parents didn’t do right by their kids because they did drugs and liked the money. How many kids got shot down in the street. How many Mamas cry about losing their child. It didn’t stop them from taking money and drugs from their living kids. I had a front row seat to all the finger pointing and lack of taking responsibility. Black people became their own worst enemy because they lived up to the stereotype they claimed white people had of them. Racism is self driven. Racism exists because it feeds its own machine. Oh and the Democrats love racism and division and Obama championed racism. Whatever they said Republicans were doing in reality it was Democrats doing it. And the biggest joke to come down the pike is reparations. So many black peoples jumped on that money making train because they didn’t think it through. It’s a Democratic game people. The oldest trick in the book. Look at what my right hand is doing and you’ll never see what the left hand is doing. Stop regurgitating what you hear. Read, study, learn. Investigate. Stop being lazy about politics. Stop being lazy and let other people talk for you. I’m waiting for Jesus return. If more people acted like Jesus to each other, this world would be a better place.

fun guy 32Way too woke..You can tell they the reviews for this are padded big time… I’m going to start doing podcasts on white kids who get beaten and robbed in black neighborhoods actually just because they’re white…
-
Rick 645446669I did graffiti on the southside of ChicagoI understand the divide one of my crewmembers is from Chicago, but I didn’t listen to you talk about Frankie as he’s a“ white person” the dude is Italian. He is not Caucasian that is not cool to lump us all together. We are not from the same ethnicity. When I was on tour with the roots, common sense, LL Cool J, and any other rapper you can think of when I went to the southside Chicago as a white guy I hit up no ID not West I hit up no ID because I know hip-hop and I am hip-hop.
-
hshjaisjfndWow.I loved how Yohance wen’t with an open mind down every avenue that presented itself. I would love to see him explore the wider concept of “faking it till you make it” in the world of racial pandering. To me it seems like having to pretend not to be racist and present a mask of acceptance and empathy actually may have help expose the Carusos to enough black people to really feel it. Definitely a topic I’d love to here Yohance explore.
-
GradheidGreat podcastI really liked the genuineness and honesty about the narrators experience. Highly recommend.

throwstrikesVery Well Done & Important PodcastI woke up early and was looking for a new podcast when I saw this. I could not stop listening. Such a powerful story and very well done. It did cause me to think about the many layers to racism and how we, as a society, react. I hope this inspired you to return to your journalism roots. You are a very talented storyteller.
-
Mary62072WowFinished this today. Am sad it’s over. I could listen to Yohance talk all day. Excellently done podcast that people need to listen to. White people, I’m looking at you.

Jenny MillerThis podcast is really importantI’m a white grandma and I am so grateful to Johann for taking the time and the effort to share this story. Johann’s narration is full of heart, soul, and intelligence. He drew me in from the very beginning. His story should be heard by everyone. Thank you, Johann. Thank you!

iheartboxycharmMUST LISTEN!You Don’t See Nothin is one of the very best amazing podcasts I’ve listened to. Yohance is a great journalist, so thankful for his work. We wouldn’t know this story that changed so much in this country. We need more journalists like Yohance to bring light to these horrendous crimes that happened to make real change. We can finally understand why there is so much hate in this country. Well not understand but atleast bring these issues to light. I wish you nothing but the best Yohance and Lenard. God bless. Stay safe out here Yohance.
-
marL0weAmazing - Must listen!Great story telling amazing sound quality and editing. And above all an amazing perspective from Yohance!
-
YawninBearGreat podcastThank you for bringing this story to light. This is important for all to hear.

Maya12$.You should name the podcast-you know but you don’t want to say nothing. why wouldn’t you investigate more on Cutlers murder? I understand the notion of not wanting to be a snitch, but you are just stating the facts on Cutlers murder. The audience can come up with her own conclusion. And it’s not like the police don’t know who the men involved were. They just want to sweep it under the rug like everything else. But to protect those involved against another black man is baffling . And no one spoke to the girlfriend.?? you said you struggle with looking more into it, but please do , make it another episode. His family deserves to have answers.
