Belvedere Brit10 over 10Wooooah im an alien, I’m an Englishman in NY…who’s had to listen to some terrible takes on soccer here. Over hearing fellas at a bar and wanting to scream STOP GETTING FOOTBALL WRONG! This pod is a safe space, a warm comfy pod where idiotic stances are rightfully called out and ridiculed and you feel like you know the team too well and start commenting on their socials. Good stuff

footyfan18Reminding you why you love life (and football)As a proud listener of every episode of RYWYLF to date, this review is long, long, long overdue. I was convinced my words wouldn’t matter until hearing a recent review from another mid-20s football fan. They emphasized how this podcast has been like a weekly lesson on football lore, passing on the stories from a golden age that we cannot afford to lose. I cannot agree more. For over a year, this podcast has provided me with a new way to enjoy my love for the game week in and week out. I don’t have many friends who enjoy football to this level, so I cherish the feeling that I’m part of a community that shares this passion for the sport. This podcast does more than remind you why you love football, it reminds you why it’s worth loving life itself. Do yourself a favor and listen to the entire backlog of episodes*, there are an abundance of footballing (and life) lessons to be learned. *Even the first handful, which they threaten to take down due to “poor audio quality,” but they leave up because they know the content itself is top tier, as always.

RYWYLFJust First ClassFinding the pod has been a god send! It takes me back to being a kid, the nostalgia listening to Jonathan Pearce on Capital Gold describing Cantona's sending off at Selhurst, or that Monday night football Yeboah volley v Liverpool etc. I'm sure triggered by the pod, I had a recent moment which reminded me why I love football. On a recent trip to Iceland, 5 days flew past exploring the country and the sights. The missus and I decided to have a night to ourselves in Reykjavik. She decided to enjoy the hotel, mine choice was to look for a game. I found a game in Reykjavik starting in 30 minutes and started to get giddy. A quick navigation search and I was on the way to the Icelandic national stadium, hoping to grab a last minute ticket for the game. 10 minutes until kick off , I arrived to an empty stadium and car park, but a local gave me the right address and I was back on the hunt for ÍR Reykjavík's ground. 2 minutes until kick off and I could see the floodlights, goosebumps and hairs on the back of my hair stood up. A quick run through the car park and I made it in time for kick off. Fans of all ages, seating , standing anywhere you wanted, no more than 500 people.. At the burger van, Orders taken by the mum, tokens given by the daughter and Dad on the burgers. All generations together on a Friday night enjoying the footie under the lights. It was a sense of community and togetherness that brought it all home It really reminded me why I still love football. Ps - cheers to Seb who recommended Jolly Coopers earlier in the year before a trip to the Bev. Of course, he was away on a War holiday! Also, I'm based in San Francisco and you all have free accomodation for the World Cup if you can make it.

Dwayne17mA Necessary Listen Every WeekBeing the wordsmiths that you all are, I was wanting to make this review sound as poetic and beautiful as possible, but that’s just not my specialty... I run the brand Tuesday Pickup and I probably listen to this podcast every time that I’m working on a project. It’s truly inspiring and I’m constantly finding myself laughing aloud in my workshop, like some sort of madman. Just wanted to give flowers where they’re deserved and let others know that if they’re a fan of the sport, this is a refreshing necessary listen.

goodgoblinsScrubbing the Grime from FootballLike so much of modern life, modern football is increasingly hard to love without feeling a bit sick. Maybe it’s the grimy money, or the partisan hatred, or the whataboutism, or maybe it’s just being a Chelsea fan…*deep sigh* Well, luckily for all of us who’ve felt that queasy feeling, who’ve once again lost our minds briefly to the shameful fever of fandom, who just can’t hear the latest tired criticism of our club, or who can’t stomach the joy of another match lost to geopolitical discourse or VAR pearl-clutching, there is now an antidote. Inject it.

Diego Not Quite MaradonaThe (George?) Best Football PodcastTruly a cracker of a podcast and what I’ve needed for so long. Hailing from the home of the great (G.O.A.T.?) Jorge “El Magico” Gonzalez, while growing up in the land of soccer and touchdowns prior to the internet, discussing proper futbol was nearly impossible for me growing up other than when my family and I visited El Salvador on holiday. References to my U.S. born friends meant nothing as the sport had not gained the traction it has today. Listening to the Mundial boys feels like I’m listening to the conversations I wish I could have had with my own friends all those years ago. Funny, insightful, irreverent, and full of stories that truly remind and show what makes football truly beautiful. Combined with Mundial magazine, the nostalgia of the football of my youth makes me appreciate that time much more fondly as well as how the game, fans, and styles have evolved over time. Thankfully technology and slowly evolving attitudes has made the enjoyment of futbol easier for me here in the States. Anyone who loves or wants to learn more about the beautiful game is sure to love this podcast. Keep up the good work gents! Cheers from Buffalo, New York!

OldJoe40Big Shouts to RYWYLFLiving in the US, in can sometimes be difficult to find people who share your love for soccer. Most of my group chats over here are filled with the other football - college or the NFL, two things that I couldn’t care less about. While I have friends who have gotten into it more over the last few years, this podcast and magazine has filled the gap. It has provided me with countless laughs, and I’ve learned about stories and players who I otherwise would have never heard of. I look forward to that 7PM podcast drop each week. Cheers to Owen, Seb, James, Tommy, and the rest of Mundial!

vansfan66Therapeutic to a TI am but a humble supplicant in the mighty church of football, and if the likes of Maradona and Pele are my gods, these boys are my high priests. Every week I’m privileged to soak up the choicest footballing lore and banter like you wouldn’t believe. As someone who lives and breathes for the game, there really isn’t anything that scratches that itch better. If you love this sport as much as I do, you won’t find a better podcast. Keep it up forever lads.

miglioreusernameIt’s all in the titlePositive energy, loads of fun, no XG or tactical jargon in sight. Would subscribe for Adventures in Clubland alone, which are history lessons for the youth and shameless nostalgia trips for the rest of us. If you’re like me and are aging out of your competitive years and maybe wondering why you keep bothering with this sport: it does what it says on the tin.

MTFootyDadReminding You Why You Love FriendshipWith one of my best friends moving halfway across the world for a few years, I worried that we would grow apart. Among the things that have kept us close is RYWYLF. I quickly realized that the pod is a perfect amalgamation of our friendship: rooted in obscure calcio trivia and appreciation for Czech giants while also accessing the importance of connection between human beings. Love everything about it…

TheElk92Simply the best (not a nod to Rangers)This is the only podcast I listen to religiously. I can without hyperbole say that it’s been a great source of joy in what’s recently been and continues to be the most difficult months of my life. For someone who now lives in a part of the world pretty disconnected from football culture, RYWYLF reminds me not only of why I love football but also of sitting around with my own mates, rehashing stories from watching & playing. Generally just having a laugh & storytelling through the medium of football. Blackhurst pulling the strings, Tommy’s laugh, Commander Seb, and James Bird’s smorgasbord of accents. Get listening.

Chris KruppSimply the bestThis show not only reminds you why you love football but reminds you what football really is, an escape from all your problems. When you turn this podcast on, those 45ish mins transports you to a place where there is no work emails and especially no bosses. It’s only you and the lads talking about the likes of Rivaldo, Zizou, Ochoa, and all the way to Louis Van Gaal at Christmas dinner, maybe even a rant about normal people playing the piano in the train station too. I can not recommend this show enough, simply sublime.

Clean CafJust simply classSimply addictive. Once I pop the pod on, I feel like I step right into the studio with the lads. Best footy podcast out there.

DroofishayDo yourself a favor and start at the beginning…Timeless podcasts that are an absolute joy to listen to. The guys at Mundial are the antithesis to “hot take” analysis, livestream watch alongs, “(player no one’s heard of) welcome to (club linked to them this morning)” YouTube videos, and unreadable dissertations on xG and rest defense. Tuning in takes me back to the utopia of pre VAR Football and a time when the game was about fun. Keep them coming lads!

Sad_Chelsea_fanImmaculate vibesIf 90s nostalgia was a podcast ran by some English dudes that can’t stop swearing. I wouldn’t change a thing. I literally downloaded this app so I could leave this review. 10/10

ZackVanDykeTitle is AccurateThe show does what it says and reminds you why you love football.

kimbobo722Football’s Pirate Radio PodMundial manages to articulate the beautiful obsession we all have for football. Digging up the gems from football’s forgotten stories, players, matches and moments. And polishing them into evergreen episodes you can listen to more than once. I buy the mag when I’m able to afford it. And the pod is the perfect reminder of why supporting DIY brands makes football culture better.

( ;´Д`)o(`ω´ )oReminding me why I love footballIs this best football podcast in the world? No. Is this the best football podcast in the known Universe? Also no. This is the best football podcast across all folds of time and space, with no equal. Owen and the gang have insane chemistry, amazing stories, great banter. Production is amazing, topics amazing. I could go on and on boys but i’m typing this out at work, on the clock, because I was just reminded about how much I love football. cheers
