    Film Friends
When I had my son I was told something that rang so true: No one tires out a little boy, like another little boy. To spin that on people who work in Entertainment: No one loves talking film more than people who work in film. I’m living proof. I’ve spent my career in Television and Film starting at age 18 and continue to put 10-15 hour days into my craft (currently directing a series on one of the services)… and I can’t get enough. I can’t get enough of listening to people who speak the language. Of people who evaluate the technical as well as the emotion. People who know what shot selection and scene transitions are. People who describe action on screen like waxing poetry… because it is…. It’s visual poetry. I’ve come to count on you three gentlemen to do the heavy legwork my schedule doesn’t allow, and to parcel out the gems I’ll be searching up on the weekend. Your obvious friendship and affection for each other mirrors my group of friends and I love hearing your playful banter, and sometimes serious conversation, as much as the assessments of the day. Just wanted to say thank you for your love of film and always bringing a smile to my face. :) Amber

    it’s so bad. good lord.
increasingly, their whole schtick is just a big ol’ morality play. let me tell you, folks, there could be no more boring and less thought provoking prism to discuss art thru than “oh sir, please, won’t you think of the / my children!”. Example 1,034 - their laughably pathetic review of Hit Man on Netflix. these guys are a waste of your time. just don’t.

    Get to the review!
Honestly, I love these guys’ takes on movies. I first saw their stuff on YouTube which cuts right to the part where they review the movie. However, on the podcast, they talk about random other stuff for 1hr+ and only review the movie in the episode title for 20-30min. I don’t mind them starting the episode with some general commentary about other things, but maybe it should be shorter than the content about the actual subject line of the episodes?!? 5 stars to the actual review portion, but sadly only 3 stars overall for all the fluff in the beginning.

    Has become insufferable
If you enjoy insufferable political bias injected into every episode, this is for you. They can’t contain themselves anymore in expressing disdain for anyone that doesn’t align with they’re views. They will go so far as to disparage a western movie with Kevin Costner because a “certain crowd” will like it as they moan and cry about it on their podcast. Crazy to see their group think evolve over the last 5 years. Bye.

    Not very good
Bottom of the barrel movie podcast with misleading titles.

Best Film Cast in the universe

Huge fan of everything these guys do!
I have been listening to Jeff, Devindra and Dave for so many years, across all of their various projects. I started listening to Jeff back in the Totally Rad Show days of 2007 (?) and that led me to Devindra and Dave. The Filmcast is by far my favorite series, often helping me identify new shows to watch, which movies to focus on, etc. I love how each host takes a different approach to how they consider movies, often leading to interesting and complex discussions. I also greatly appreciate how they cover all aspects of the viewing experience, including weighing in on any wronging (Film Court), the quality of theaters (FauxMax vs iMax), and even seating positions in the theater. I often wait to hear the spoiler-free review of movies to determine how to best approach seeing the movie, then going to see the movie, and then listening to the second half of the review following it. This is easily my favorite podcast of the week and I am an ardent supporter via Patreon. Money Horse for life!

A great show for every movie buff who cringes a little at the word Cinephile
I have been listening to this podcasts for years at this point, first discovering it while in high school, and cannot understate how great of a listen it is week after week. All three hosts bring in depth and knowledgeable conversation to the weekly review, and the “what we’ve been watching” segments without ever losing the grounded “buds hanging out and catching up” atmosphere that makes it so enjoyable. Keep up the great work!
  • thejooniverse
    Absolute best
Dave, Devindra, and Jeff bring filmic insights, fun banter, and palpable chemistry. The show continues to give me gifts like movie review limericks, inside jokes abound (but not alienate), and CONSISTENCY. These guys absolutely put so much work into it, and their years have added up to a great sit.

Easily the best (current) film review podcast
7 years ago I subscribed to 5 movie podcasts, now I’m down to just this one. Unpretentious and relatively humble (for film critics), these are smart, thoughtful people who clearly enjoy each other’s company and rarely forget to have fun and be entertaining (mostly thanks to resident goofball, Jeff). I find a lot of entertainment analysis/opinion podcasts unappealing because the hosts are either self-absorbed, opinionated blowhards (one extreme) or dull and dry as dirt (the other extreme). I like the Filmcast because (usually) they get the balance right. This is always my first listen when a new episode drops. Even if I have no interest in the films discussed, David, Jeff and Devindra are always fun to hang out with.
  • hucklethecat
    Just an opinion.
I typically enjoy the podcast and have been a follower for a few years now. That said, lately I have taken to skipping Jeff’s commentary as they tend to be rants plus he cries over everything. I don’t mind a man having or showing emotion but he mentions it so often that it now seems phony. That said, Davindra interrupts Jeff frequently because he knows better about everything. It’s really obnoxious. He just needs to hush and let people finish. I get the sense lately too that it is Dave and Davindra here, and then Jeff’s over there. You guys no longer come off as equally contributing cohosts to me. I don’t think Davindra likes Jeff. Perhaps that’s the way it’s always been and I just never noticed. I do enjoy Dave as host and his reviews on this pod, plus some of his other work. Anyway, just my two cents.
  • Bertrand200
    The show has gone downhill
Was listening to old episodes and reminded me that the vibe was so much better. Also Devindra now constantly speaks when someone else is speaking, interrupting them. I would like to hear more from David rather than the others.
  • Black Boy Sheen
David Could Chill Out A Bit…
Would be better if David could take a joke. Would be best if David could stop taking Jeff and Devindra’s jokes and running them into the ground and/or say them louder and unfunnier, as if he came up with it. Typically great takes. Jeff and Devindra are a delight to listen to. Such a shame that David has to be the ringleader of the show.

One of my all time favorites
I’ve been listening to the Filmcast for a few years now and it’s always a great time. I’ve discovered so many amazing films (and TV shows) through the show and Dave, Devindra and Jeff are thoughtful, interesting, and empathetic personalities. I look forward to the top 10 episode every year, and occasionally try to keep up week-to-week with their reviews.

    Declining Taste
Imagine not realizing the brilliance of Oppenheimer. I could see one of them not appreciating it but all three is baffling. “Screenplay disjointed” seems more of a lack of understanding. Hopefully they’ll come around to this once in a generation film, in which art and populist entertainment meet.

    My favorite podcast
I’ve only ever listened to one podcast consistently and it’s the Filmcast! Haven’t missed an episode since the review of Thor in 2011. Three thoughtful gents muse on cinema in ways that enrich my life and will yours too! Thanks Dave, Devindra and Jeff!

These guys make a terrible podcast, are you ever going to talk about the movie that you designated day blather on and on and on about all kinds of nonsense, this is a hard and I do mean hard pass

    Audio levels issue
Love the show, but I’ve noticed week after week that Jeff’s audio level in particular wavers a lot. Sometimes it sounds like he’s far away from mic, but sometimes he sounds louder than everyone else.

Made me a better movie fan
I’ve always loved movies, but have expanded what I see over the years thanks a lot to this crew. Love hearing what they are watching and then their thoughts on the big movies. I don’t always agree and that’s okay. The podcast I most look forward to each week.

Brooke Obie was an amazing guest! I loved the truth she spoke that has been overlooked by how fun of a movie Barbie is! Bring Brooke back!

    The Flash episode
First time listening to this podcast. It’s entertaining, I guess, but I’m 1 hour and 27 minutes into an episode dedicated to The Flash and they have yet to mention the movie once. Here’s to hoping they share their review in the last 10 minutes.
  • bostonstinx
Does Jeff cry at the end of every movie??
Always leaving with tears in his eyes. Endings just make him sad I guess. Dude cried while watching Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny? The Flash? Anyways keep up the tears. 5 stars
  • JLU4Life
    Wow, man...
Just listened to 729, and was stunned to discover these guys (who are obsessed with box office) completely ignore the number one movie in America, because it is attached to a politically opposing POV. Especially amazing considering the movie exposes the very real issue of child sex trafficking. Yikes... That’s how dark the progressive playbook has become.

Finally doing the least Dave said I could do
After several years of listening to the podcast, I finally decided to do the least Dave says I can do and leave a rating on the podcast. I love listening to this podcast, it is a highlight of my week from a content consumption perspective. I throughly enjoy the insight and the banter. All three hosts are very talented and I enjoy their content on this podcast as well as their various others. Thanks to Dave for your pedantic wit, and your eye-roll worthy love of reality TV. Thanks to Jeff for the unenviable position of being the straight, cis, white man in the room. I appreciate how you represent us. Thanks to Devindra for you critical analysis of the tech side of the industry, as well as you live for B level Action movies.

devindra is no longer able to be objective, it’s a shame , his completely over correcting woke mindset has ruined his objectivity. still love the podcast though
  • Digicameron
10 year fan(but listened to the back eps too)
I thoroughly enjoy the discussions and seem to hear these in each episode: “Has anyone seen this show or know what I’m talking about?” “Boom goes the dynamite!” “This film is exquisite!” “How dare you sir?” “Well Dave.” “I just adore this film”
  • Jon08C
One of the Highlights of My Week
Thoroughly enjoy the banter and chemistry between the co-hosts. They have a great balance of similar interests and different takes on films. This dynamic creates one of the best weekly movie podcasts around!

    It's time
I'm Jeff’s age and really feeling it tonight which reminded me of Jeff and his breaking down body so I figured it’s time to finally leave a review and a five star rating. Keep up the good work gentlemen.

    It’s Great But…
David and Jeff are fantastic! But I’m sorry but that Kermit the Frog sounding woman has to take her hardcore feminism down a few notches. Not everything has to be about the female characters.

    I Love the Filmcast!
I absolutely love this podcast! Particularly love the “What We’ve Been Watching” segment, which has become my main source of new film & tv to check out. The hosts are fun and entertaining, but know their stuff and review film in a thoughtful and intelligent way that I always appreciate.

    Love This Podcast!
Long time listener, first time reviewer. I'm totally not in the demographic for this show, but I love the camaraderie and reviews from these guys. They are insightful, funny, and thought-provoking in their review of movies and TV shows. I also learn about tons of new content from their "What We've Been Watching Segment". Dave's contrarian reviews, Devindra's love of quirky films, and Jeff's passon and limericks keep me so entertained. Thanks for putting together such an amazing show!!!
  • Syll
    Firing on all cylinders lately!
Devindra has been on fire lately and seems to have fully settled into a good groove - and that's from someone who's not always on his wavelength, but have appreciated the progressive angle he brings to the show. Maybe the move to video has helped them gel even more? This is how I wish my convos would go, talking movies with my friends. Also, the disagreements on the pod are a feature not a bug. Too many echo chambers out there! Been listening since #100, and here's to 1000 ✌️

    A Weekly Staple
The best film podcasts offer diverse and strongly-felt opinions on the films that they are reviewing. The Filmcast always delivers engaging and thoughtful perspectives on the film industry, film-adjacent content and the movies they are reviewing each week.
