CarolinachipWell Bye….As Curly Bill would say…

JakobWoodsAn Audio RoadwalkSomeone else said it best when they pointed out that there’s 15 minutes of relevant information in a 3 hour long podcast.
-
meow (:Constant interruptionsThe content is good but you have to wade through endless interruptions with co-hosts stomping on each others’ commentary with nonsensical gibberish. There’s a good 15 minutes of quality takeaways in every 2-hour episode.

catmando2019The Trail ShowGreat humor-and variety, they cover tons of trails by tons of hikers! Podcast on normal speed gets me anywhere from 7-12 miles hiking per episode!!

dougitectBest intro music of any podcast ever!I’ve listened to The Trail Show for years and have enjoyed giant backpacks full of nonsense. Deep dives into long trails, more beer can readings and sound effects than any other podcast in the known universe, and a merry gang of regulars—plus guests who were doing a special across the hall. There are plenty of other places to learn all about gear, but few that offer the fun trail mix this group serves up each month. Nothing but Five Stars for The Trail Show…and I don’t even drink beer!

JohnneeBullFive(5) stars all dayI may actually be the only human to have heard this show. Chef recommends.

I live in ColoradoTurn up the volumeI never listen to the trail show. No, I can’t listen to the trail show, the sound levels are too low! So low I must turn the volume up 100% so I can hear the show in my car. I have a nice car! I especially have trouble hearing D-low, his vocal tone is very soft and low. Please edit the sound levels for this podcast so I don’t blow out my speakers when I switch stations. Then I can continue not listening to the trail show. Thnx!

John85367Great for my needsAs a young child I had an accident which caused almost severe hearing loss in my right ear. After many years in the construction trade I developed a near constant ringing in my ear. It was getting to the point where I thought about having my hearing disabled in that ear just to stop the ringing. Then I found this show. Listening to this show for a mere 15 minutes makes me miss the ringing in my ear. Just 15 minutes of beer label reading and tent stake reviews and one cheek sneaks and poop fingers and I can't want to hear that ringing again. So thank you trail show for helping me make the most annoying noise in the world bearable.

Bennett SorensenAntidote to Life Off the TrailThe trail show is not only worthy of a listen but a thru-listen. I recommend the following drinking game while you enjoy this journey: Drink every time... - Disco says "Ladies and Gentlemen", "Hey Now", or "How Dare You" - Boulder or Salida is mentioned - There's dig at the Florida Trail or European Hikers - D-Low tries to get some help with his landscaping - the Onion or Buck30 gets roasted - burning jeans is mentioned as a backcountry strategy - someone runs out the door - "Bye Felicia" or a "hey there, trail show" is uttered - "back on the trail" is sung Bennett "Bearbait" Sorensen

Don't read, hike! What is legal in CO now? Really? This podcast was great before hallucinogenic mushrooms were legal in CO, but now it's like I'm right there with them! It's gnarly dude! Five stars, man. Did I say five stars? Five stars for all three of my eyes man! That's like almost fifteen man! Whoa!

jennnnniepHeyyyy trail show! You guys are so fun! Always interesting stuff discussed, a great mix up of info and moves around in topic to keep you interested! You guys make me laugh so hard, I love how you keep it real and not just go with the trends. Working on the CT this year and working on a trip of the TRT in the late summer or early fall. TRIPS! Get on tha trail🤘#saltysnacks.

MattDaddy56Worst podcast everI forced myself to listen to 3 episodes just to give them a fair chance. I think some ADHD 7 year olds produced the show. There’s pretty much no useful information or even entertainment value on the show. In one episode a guy talked briefly about being on the Wonderland Trail, but couldn’t even recall but the vaguest of details and even the commentators asked if he was actually there. None of the other episodes got any better. It’s hard to believe that people actually listen to this mindless BS.

tr0mbleyInformative Intoxication? After 3 or 4 years of listening to this great podcast, the April Fool’s show finally compelled me to write a review, become a donor, and ask a hiker question... maybe even play a prank. This episode was truly superb, second only to the Te Araroa Confessionals. I experienced the full range of emotions on this one: curious at first, then disbelief, then bursts of laughing followed by frustration, resignation, and finally immense joy in the utter simplicity of it all. Terrifically creative and hysterical. Towards the end of the show I felt like I was in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, riding the boat through the psychedelic tunnel. This was a potpourri of sounds! A bold work of art! I can almost picture Disco under a smoky desk lamp, half past midnight in the glow of a MacBook Pro... editing... splicing... creating! I can also picture POD standing behind him, in a leisure suit, shaking her head, deeply disappointed by this blatant overdose of acoustics. In honor of Disco’s effort, I would like to offer a top 5 list of sound effects: 5. Incessant knocking on the door 4. Whacked-out dolphin with other unknown creature 3. Unsupervised hammering at the construction site 2. Ruthless fisticuffs with violent back-and-forth exchange at the end 1. A thirsty dog drinking I have no idea where someone would find such an assorted collection of hi-def masterpieces. Raising a glass to you guys for all the laughs over the years and looking forward to another 80 shows. Get on the trail y’all! Bob (Death March) Trombley aka DMT North Carolina

Matt TownAlmost like hikingWhat’s up trail show? I love getting out to the wilderness but can usually only get out on the weekends. The podcast really helps get me thru the week. I have two suggestions for you all: 1) Can we go a little easier in D-Low? Sure he says words wrong sometimes, falls asleep, and pretty much never goes hiking, but being a dad while keeping the yard nice really takes a toll. Can we give the guy a break? 2) Maybe do less gear reviews? So what if I have a 100L pack and knee-high boots. Let me hike my own hike. Keep doing what you’re doing. One of these days I’ll get around to sending some brews from Las Vegas.

Frankie RavsRedirected from PMags AmmunitionDear Trail Show, Much unlike your wildly entertaining sound clips from other TTS super fans, I am admittedly a long-time listener of The Trail Show. The banter between Disco, POD, and D-Low has kept me laughing over the years, and the current cast keeps the humor going! In 2015-2016 I even tried to catch up to Disco and POD on Te Araroa, but was thwarted in every town from Te Kuiti to Palmerston North by fish n’ chips. While I haven’t met the good people at The Trail Show gang yet, I learned on Episode 80 (The HRP Episode) that we share a mutual fascination in the toponym research of visionary thru-hiker Erik Schlimmer! Thanks for giving our show, Foot Stuff Podcast, a shout out for hosting Mr. Schlimmer in Studio 7 in the Adirondacks. Keep up the great work Disco, Specul 41, Salty, D-Low, POD and everyone in Trail Show Nation. Maybe Foot Stuff H.R. can email Trail Show Legal about getting D-Low back to the Adirondacks for some good old fashioned Foot Stuff antics? Until then, Keep it Wild! - Tyler “Future Dad” Socash

jayceeshineSoooo entertainingI’ve only just started listening to you guys for about a week, but on my 6 hour drive back from Alabama to South Carolina, y’all made the time fly! So entertaining and make me drastically-lean-forward-in-my-seat laughing all the time. Thanks for the laughs and the stories, and I can’t wait to hear what’s coming our way next! -Jaycee Shine

Mike 'Scout's Honor' MatheisThe Trail ShowI'll admit it....Speshul's plea got to me The Trail Show Rocks. Great combination of laughs, learning, good times & friends. They'll go out of their way to pronounce your challenging last name correctly (they got it perfect!) and even give you a trail name to boot (thanks PoD!). Always look forward to the monthly download to learn about new trails, tips & advice, and suggested books & movies...all of this with a backdrop of camaraderie and good times. Go get it!!

DB19999Better Than AM/FM Radio...and CatsFive stars is with the stipulation that this be listened to at 1.5X speed. Like most podcasts, this one is much better when listened to at a higher than normal speed. The hosts all sound much more energetic, and three hour episodes can be listened to in two hours. I’ve gotten so much entertainment and value from TTS that I finally made a donation. If you’re a hiker, a wanna be hiker, or just someone that enjoys listening to a podcast that spirals down into deeper silliness with each opened beer, TTS is for you.

Steve "Swept Away" HoodNot a tru thruDear listeners, I’ve been hiking ever since I needed something fun to put on my dating profile, so I’m a bit of a subject matter expert here. The trail show is like a steep 3 hour scramble. You will burn and ache and ask yourself “why do I do this to myself.” We all know the truth. We crave the sweet sultry tube whacks. Huh, that came out weird. Thinking of you, A guy who never listens to to trail show

Colo boy 0228Soundproof boothNow we know why the EPA chief Scott Pruitt installed a $43,000 soundproof booth in his office. He was a closet fan of The Trail Show! A great podcast for those lonely road walks sections we all love so much. Please oh please do the "God Voice" in your Harry Carry voice just once for me. I can't think of anything that would make me laugh harder. Get on the Trail!

Bearcord_GAA dumpster fire of sound effectsAllow me to begin this review by expressing my love for a good dumpster fire. Disco’s love for air horns, whacking tubes and the price is right fail trombone is the highlight of my listening experience. The joy of hearing P.O.D try to wrangle the child like D-Low is hilarious and should not be missed! Triple O and Speshul are the perfect compliment to the lunacy each episode provides. I assume all of the above is true because I never actually listen to the trail show. Bearcord

PapermaptalesBest show to learn new trails!I love listening to the trail show each month! It’s the best motivation for me to keep studying to get my teaching credential so I can have more time to get back on the trail. Till then the show cures my wanderlust and adds to my never ending list of trails to check out! Keep it love you guys 😊

DanoinDenverLess routes. More poops.POD - ‘nuff said. Speshul - I know you’re pickin’ up what I’m puttin’ down. Disco - I know. I know. It’s a family show. D-Lo - #kids #reality OOO - What does legal@thetrailshow know about saying “poop” in an iTunes review? -Mr. Hyphen

georgidogLove the showThe folks on this show are spot on-well most of the time. I tried using a kitchen sponge, but the scrubbie irritated my "parts." Use some caution with their advice.

ntxmike2Great to hear the Ouachita Trail get some loveDear Trailshow, Thanks for another great show. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the review of the Ouachita Trail by Swami. I have hiked the west end of of the trail quite a bit. It is a quick drive from the Dallas area and in my opinion the best hikes nearby. Anytime I go I rarely see anyone else using the trails...I guess with the Trail Show bump next time it'll be hiking nuts to butts. And on the west side there are many side trails to take. I would just avoid the ones where ATV's are allowed...they have quite a few big mud holes that are pain to get around. Keep up the great shows. I'll be hiking the CDT this year starting in April going NOBO and look forward to more episodes. ntxmike

O'Hanley29How can you not love these guysOk, so I definitely have not been listening to the Trail Show since July 2017....but somehow I still know all the episodes. I think D-Low hacked my Facebook—or maybe POD because I saw an ad for Tent Stakes on it literally a week ago! I still think chop sticks might be a better option in a pinch though. Thanks for all the laughs and the amazing conservation interviews! Also, the story of POD standing naked giving those poor college girls a stern talking to about not washing your hair in the Lake is my FAVORITE story now! You all are freaking crazy and I love it! I’ll send you some beers to test out soon too! Cheers from HannahCat!

DatenbenMore fun than you can shake a stick at!Informative and entertaining. Makes my hour plus commute fly by. I wish PMags was on more often. Keep up the sound effects!
-
NEsports90Fun, informative hiking podcastThis shouldn’t be my type of podcast because I don’t drink or thru-hike, but I love this podcast so much! It’s so entertaining listening to these awesome folks who are experienced hikers. This is my favorite outdoor podcast because you learn about hiking trails throughout the US and some foreign ones. They make it extremely fun as a listener. This podcast has motivated to start thinking about thru-hiking, not only 2-3 day backpacking trips. Listen to this podcast, you won’t regret it!!!
-
SeabeeHunterLove these guys!!Fun and informative show regarding all things backpacking. The trail of the month segment is what really makes the show worth your time. The tent stake reviews are also a favorite of mine. Only complaint: I love my craft brews but I always fast forward the beer review it’s just not my jam... Keep up the great work! #getonthetrail -Sauerkraut
-
Wolverine1967Awesome PodcastYES to sound effects. YES to reading beer labels. And more Squatch! And please bring back Strider (Luke Jordan). Your first interview with him was awesome and he’s since been the first to thru-hike the Great Plains Trail. More Strider!
-
jajohannsEntertaining and informativeEnjoy the trail show, particularly the featured trail segment. The sound effects can be tough while wearing headphones.

Dirdy$zGood timesThe Trail Show is a flat out a good time. It’s a little bit of everything, a variety show of sorts, light hearted and funny, with a mix of current events and some advice and suggestions. I find hiking gear talk is often the best resource prepping for my adventures and outings. Keep it fun, and loving the sound effects. Durr D Haines Alaska

MittencamperTrowels & Social MediaNormally I listen to The Trail Show on Google Music, but I came onto iTunes just to leave this review. I found the commentary on trowel usage and up/downsides of social media's effect on trail use to be ON POINT. I get pretty upset when people say they don't bring a trowel on trail. They weigh like 20 grams, people! Get with the program! But I digress. Your show is great. Thanks for keeping it LNT.
-
Hillpoint hunterGive it a tryThe more you listen the more you love, at first I just listened to the ones that I was interested in I then went back and listened to them all even the three on iTunes. Keep them coming.
