Dear Kim, I have been a long time fan of you and your program ever since I first found you on radio many years ago. Now that you are podcasting, I’ve enjoyed your Kim Komando Today podcast as well. However, I’ve noticed the podcast format has changed in recent weeks. Previously, you were very focused on technology and provided innumerable useful insights. With the addition of Andrew (I’m sure he’s a good guy) to your podcasts, I’m hearing a lot of talk with little technology content. For instance, on one podcast, you featured a woman who was a “fortune teller” (my terminology). While I respect your right to podcast what you want in the way of content, this new approach is not very helpful or appealing to my interests. I’m willing to listen for a few more weeks, but — if your podcast format remains as is current, then I will have to unsubscribe (very disappointing for me). I have great admiration for you and your vast amount of knowledge and expertise. 😩 It will be a sad day if I do this. I hope you return to the previous format. PS: I subscribe to your newsletter and think it provides lots of helpful advice. 👍

I have been listening to this podcast for maybe a month and I have found myself checking the library every morning to find a new episode. Fun, informative, heard some shocking stories and definitely confirmed my belief that scammers are everywhere! Thanks for the information and awareness. Consumer tech product skills.

Downloaded based on general public recommendation from a colleague. In the few episodes I’ve listened, the hosts walk listeners through some basic online literacy skills, explain features of common consumer tech products at a non-specialized level, and cover some recent tech news. All that’s good. But I was personally disappointed at the level. With the exception of the news bits, they were covering info/skills that were basic for non-tech professionals 3-5 years ago. I think this is because their audience is for the tech uncomfortable. That is great! But, if you don’t need someone to help you understand review spoofing or how to use an authenticator app, and/or are interested in more analytical tech industry coverage, check out Pivot.

Wrong Info & Slow

I like my podcasts straight and to the point. For my tastes, Kim takes too long to make her point. I want info, not what passes as entertainment. But what pushed me to drop this podcast was wrong info provided by a guest who gave tips about Amazon. The guest said that Amazon ‘makes’ Amazon’s best products such as cables. I consider this to be a literal statement. While Amazon does design many of their more important products like the Echo and Fire tablets, Amazon just buys batteries, cables, etc. from other generic manufacturers. But when the guest claimed that the cables were ‘just as good’ Kim accepted the statement as fact. No testing was referenced. As someone who has had Amazon Lightning connectors corrode, I firmly believe that they are not as good as Apple or Belkin cables. I get my tech podcasts elsewhere.
