Dr. Chung is not only a genuine expert about movies, drawn from his sincere passion to fully immerse himself in them, but also he has an enthusiasm that is contagious and always fun to listen to. I always learn a lot, and I appreciate the family-friendly tone. Jon will tell you what he honestly thinks, but it’s always a thoughtful review and respectful to his audience.

What I love about Jon’s movie reviews is that his reviews come from a genuine love of watching movies. I go to the theater to watch movies because I love doing it and want it to be a fun experience. Jon has a sincere passion for movie watching that is conveyed through his podcast. His reviews are well researched and supported by years of movie watching. I, also, find Jon’s vast comic book knowledge helpful in his reviews of all the comic book movies that I love to watch.

Listening to your reviews kind of keeps the story alive in my mind. Makes the rewatch more enjoyable. Love the details. Thank You so much!

Great review on Ghostbusters Afterlife. I saw the original in the theater back in the 80s also. They finally got it right. A worthy sequel to the original. Keep up the great work Jon.

I have been listening to this podcast since 2014 and have loved every episode! No podcast has been able to pack so much information and discussion into a single 45 minute podcast! The episodes are as much of a film history podcast as they are discussion and analysis! Film fans will not be disappointed!

This is an awesome podcast. He has great insight backstory and how the movie was made. He’s covered some good films most people have seen or known of.

His reviews go so beyond just a description of the movie. Psychological parallels, ancient hero allegories, classic film references, delivered with rapid fire enthusiasm. I can’t believe he doesn’t have thousands of reviews. Well worth it

His passion for movies and the joy he obviously experiences watching them is infectious. I love listening to this podcast because he’s also super knowledgeable about the source material and gives lots of background and great tidbits of information that cause you to get even more enjoyment out of the movies he reviews! After searching high and low for a movie review podcast I came across your show last year. What makes your podcast so awesome is your compassion, your honesty, that you was born in my generation, and the fact you do not feel the need to use foul language. Even if you do not care for a movie you take the time to explain why and not just trash everything about it. I anxiously wait for a new review and get so excited when I receive an alert that a new episode has posted. I have went back and listened to every episode with the exception of the ones dedicated to Robin Williams (I still have not gotten over his death). Your reviews are so excellent that even through I know the movie plot, I have watched films that originally did not capture my interest (i.e. the Fast and Furious movies and several Oscar nominated movies). I know you are busy with your family and work, but I hope eventually you are able to go back to doing more than a few shows year. Thank you so much for all that you do, Jennifer Wiley-Wright

I really like the show, I enjoy hearing his personal backstory of when he first saw the movie and the background information about the films. I highly recommend you check it out.

I’ve been listening to this podcast for a couple years and it’s always an insightful look at the film or show being commentated on. I’m not a huge fan of one-person review podcasts because I enjoy back and forth commentary, but this one is the exception because it’s well-researched and thought out. In addition to the film review, this podcast also gives extra info about the making of and behind the scenes of the film. I really appreciate this extra insight and it sets it apart from most film review podcasts. Would love to get more TV reviews - The Mandalorian podcasts aren’t great.

This Podcast keeps me alive. I love the Star Wars and Marvel podcasts. I love how in depth everything is. I’m not old enough to understand most of the references that he mentions, but I’m now the smartest guy in the car after watching Star Wars or Marvel Movies. I love this podcast.

This is not your typical movie review. Really enjoy the informative lead ins & background of comic book lore, when applicable. Gives a thoughtful perspective while being highly entertaining. Definitely recommend this podcast; you’ll most definitely walk away with a tidbit you didn’t realize you needed to know.

I have been a fan of Jon Chung and this podcast for almost 2 years now and he just keeps up the quality. I think the Shazam episode is the most informative yet. All movie nerds like me should listen to these podcasts. I watch the movie, listen to Jon, and then want to see the movie again with deeper pleasure.

This podcast is the antidote to all of the other podcasts that tell you why a movie "failed" or what they got "wrong". This show is just one guy's pleasant trek through some popular movies. You get a little history about the movie, some thoughts about a movie, and some context about the movie. The episodes also are brief, so they aren't the deepest dives out there, but I like that these episodes aren't exhaustive. Very enjoyable listen episode after episode.

This is the rare podcast that just grows and grows on me. Jon Chung is a very interesting character in his own right; a movie buff with a medical school background. Listening to this podcast is almost as fun as watching the movies that are being reviewed. So much of what is on the web is negative, it is really refreshing to hear host Jon Chung talk about why he thinks these movies are totally awesome- because I think they are totally awesome to! Love the podcast, and definitely recommend!

This is the podcast for you. The presenter is a long-time comic book fan and does a great job tying the MCU into the comic universe. Makes that gym time fly by!

I have been sampling podcasts to find one that can help me unlock the world of comics through the viewing of films. My interest in my childhood heroes has been awakened through these blockbuster movies but I lack the context of the post 70's canon that most of these films are based on. I listened time after time to some millennial beating up these movies but clearly just repeating the same internet baloney with no real grasp of the source material. This was my last try and what a pleasant surprise. Great reviews, but more importantly, outstanding footnoting and sourcing of solid opinions based on actual comic books. No snarky, social justice, internet regurgitation, just solid fandom and intelligent takes on scripts and the books they are based on. I was so excited to write my first review of a podcast that I forgot to make note of the hosts name. He is excellent, thorough, and easy to listen to. I subscribed immediately after first listen and thank you sir for some very compelling podcasting. Salute! Vinny Vee

The host is throughly enthusiastic about the films he reviews. I only wish he would do more of them.

John and I have similar taste in films and his blend of humor and knowledge is vastly entertaining. It would be great if he wo uld jump through the Guardian of Forever and go back in time to review and rate those sci fi classics of the 50s, like the Day the Earth Stood Still, Earth versus the Flying Saucers, adn the like. Keep up the good work.

I look forward to every episode that comes out and listen to it almost immediately. He reviews all of the movies I like (and even some that I don't haha). My favorite part is when he provides background info on the source material because it helps me understand and appreciate each movie a bit more. Keep it up! I truly enjoy it!!

I have listened to two episodes and both episodes contained trivia about the movies that was not accurate. It took away from my enjoyment of the podcast. About 60 seconds of research is all it took to find out the information was not true.

I love podcasts like this. I'm a huge fan of "Now playing" podcasts, because they review movies in depth, and talk about interesting facts about the film. This podcast is very similar. He's interesting, knowledgable, and reviews movies that interest me. This is a podcast that I wouldn't mind listening to a 30 second ad before the show started. He's by himself, but is never boring and has great cadence. His passion for the films he's reviewing shine right through my iPhone. Absolutely worth checking him out. 5/5*****

I’m the same age as Jon and can relate to his enthusiasm towards films like the Star Wars Trilogy. These are really informative too providing some interesting facts and trivia about the many films discussed. Highly recommended…can’t wait for the Indiana Jones films???
