    Love This!
This is such a great podcast! I am listening to episode 357, and at the beginning you mentioned how long it took for Ezra and his group to get to Jerusalem. You said that it seemed extra slow. But maybe you didn’t take into account of the Sabbath days. There would’ve been 16 of them, and they probably didn’t travel those days. What do you think?

A Podcast That is the Whale to Jonah
If you’re a resident of Nineveh hoping someone would come and explain how all this Old Testament stuff is relevant to what you learned in the New Testament, this podcast is the whale with Jonah in its mouth coming to explain it all to you. Thanks so much to Chad and Daniel for sharing their extensive knowledge with us in this podcast.

    Life-changing Bible study
I am so grateful for having been led to listen to these podcasts, beginning in Genesis. I never imagined how enriching studying the Old Testament in depth would be.

    So glad I found this
I started learning Hebrew and went looking for scholars to help me out and I found Chad Bird. Then I began listening to this podcast and realized I needed and wanted to start in Genesis. I am currently ion episode 159 and I enjoy listening. I listen while I am cleaning, driving, and whenever I have time. What a great and rich way to explore the Old Testament. I am a history nerd and love learning about what was and why. Love how Chad brings in the Hebrew language. Love Chad and Daniel’s straightforward way of teaching us about Jesus and how we fall so often but we are redeemed by our LORD and Savior Jesus. I have always wished more pastors would tie the OT with the NT because it always points to Jesus if we look hard enough. Thank you gentlemen for sharing your knowledge and time to bring me closer to Jesus.

    Fantastic Bible Study Podcast
So glad, I found this podcast. I’ve listened to many Bible study podcasts and was disappointed. This is by far the most educational and biblically sound podcast you will find.

    Host is weak
Host has no discipline of his tongue. He cannot ask a simple question for trying to make 17 statements as part of that question. Very irritating to listen to. Podcast hosts should always keep in mind their listeners.

Life given in Old testament teaching!
Chad and Dan are blessings upon blessings. Chad brings the Hebrew and Dan brings his thoughtful insights. Together they mash the old testament into a picture in my head. I can't say enough good things about these men who dedicate their time to teaching unlike any I've heard before. Plus their books are a amazing as well. Keep up the great work!

From episode 1 I’ve been blessed by some great insights. Chad Bird really brings the text to life.

    Loving this teaching!
Who knew Leviticus could be so interesting! I love following along with the transcript while I listen and how it tracks with each paragraph so I can skip ahead easily if my reading is faster than my listening. So cool! Just switched to an iPhone after years of Android and I’m loving it. I have a hard time listening to podcasts with this much depth otherwise.

    Very good
Goes deep and helps connect all of scripture.

    Solid teaching
Gives me a better understanding of the the Old Testament. They show the thread running through The Old Testament to the New.

    Much Appreciated!
Thank you soooo much for your time investment into teaching and explaining God’s word to the layman. I don’t know Hebrew or Greek (wish I did!) so I rely on scholars such as y’all to help bring the original languages to life. 👍🏻😉

    Great Podcast
The hosts do a very good job of giving you the full picture. I know when reading the Bible there are different places where a phrase or subject doesn’t make sense and this podcast is really good about explaining a lot of the little nuances that often get overlooked or skimmed over, but are actually very significant to see the full scope of what is happening. Great podcast!

Christ in the Old Testament Everywhere
Chad and Daniel go verse by verse through each book of the Old Testament and show how everything points to Christ and His work of salvation for us. I have had several classes on the Old Testament and none of them provided the depth of knowledge and Christ centeredness that is conveyed in this podcast. Highly recommended for any student of the Bible.

    Addition of Psalms
Well done my friends. I hi k it was a wise decision to add A Psalm commentary during mid-week. I really enjoy the format.

    Context
Chad and Dan are great at bringing context; in relation to the time, customs, and translation of scripture in different languages; to give you a very detailed and comprehensive understanding to scripture. They don’t read scripture or interpret it so much as tell the story based upon its meaning. I’ve been hooked on this podcast for over a year and listen to it on my morning commutes which are almost an hour. They also do a wonderful job of showing where Jesus fits in and appears in the Old Testament. Keep up the good work guys!!!

    Life Changing!
Hands down the best and most influential podcast I’ve ever listened to. I’ve listened to every episode at least once, and many multiple times, including the “lost episode” before it was lost and are recorded! Let the OT come alive with the breath of Christ in every episode! So thankful for Chad and Daniel!

    Great Old Testament Podcast
I've spent more time in this podcast than any other, it helps so much to get the ancient context from a Hebrew scholar.

    Great!!!
This is such a great podcast to listen to. It’s opening my eyes and understanding to a deeper understanding of the types and shadows of Jesus in the Old Testament. You guys should consider writing a Types and Shadows study Bible. It’s awesome stuff.

    Great content
The episodes are great to listen and learn various components of the old languages. There is so much to learn in many of God’s narratives, this does help to link things together throughout the scriptures. Sometimes I have to pause and meditate on the thoughts for a while just because the richness is wonderful to savor! One episode was so wonderful I listened to it several times over! I learned about this podcast from Mr. Chad Bird’s book The Christ Key which is phenomenal too!

    Can’t stop listening
I have learned a lot about the things in the OT that I just assumed Christians need not think too much about

    Nothing short of life changing
A deep tour into the ancient faith, and more importantly, the heart of God Himself. Amazing.

    Deep yet understandable
I have learned so much from these teachings. Original meanings, culture, how the whole Bible is connected and how Jesus is the point, Always. The hosts are honest and humble. My heart was hard and in the darkness when I discovered 40 Minutes in the Old Testament. I have rediscovered God’s goodness and the life he’s given me through listening and studying the Word. I so appreciate their knowledge of the Bible as a whole and their hearts that bring honest purpose to knowing the Word in order to know Jesus which in turn means knowing God. Thanks guys!

    What a blessing!
As a life long Lutheran, I remembered the stories from my childhood, but during college and most of my adult life I didn’t engage in Bible study. I distanced myself from Bible study because my knowledge of the Bible was lacking and knew I could never “measure up”. Chad came to speak at our church and I bought Night Driving. I then started to listen to 40 Minutes in the Old Testament. And now of course I know that I will never “measure up”, but I also now feel 100% reassured that God loves and forgives me anyway! Praise be to God!!

    Best Old Testament Podcast!
This podcast is the best Old Testament podcast I've ever listened to! Clear, everyday language, coupled with deep theology makes this rich in the truth of God! A must listen-to for students of the Old Testament!!

    Episode 21?
Love you guys and what you’re doing in exposing how Christ is heralded and longed for on every page of the OT. I just started listening a few months ago and I was surprised to see that Episode 21 is missing—an important one on the covenant with Abram in the first part of Genesis 15. Are you able to send this? Or was it lost forever? (Of course, God’s covenant with Abraham is never lost, but maybe this episode was…)

I love this podcast. I listen to it every day as a part of my personal devotions. Daniel and Chad bring out so much about the text that I’ve never seen before, and I learn so much. Love it!

Hi my name is Eden, I know you don’t ask lol but I just wanna say how grateful I am to be able to have the advantage to listen to a podcast so amazing and Jesus only Jesus based. Y’alls podcast means a lot to me and my relationship with God. I am trying to read the whole Bible starting with Genesis. I will read some chapters and then listen to y’alls podcast. I promise you I wouldn’t be able to see Jesus in every bit of Genesis if it wasn’t for y’all. And it’s absolutely amazing and so awesome how I’m learning more and more about him just in the beginning of the Bible. It’s crazy because I’ve tried reading the Bible before starting in Genesis and I’ve had the blinders on my eyes looking at it in a one-sided view. But now it’s completely breathtaking, beautiful and I love it. Keep doing what you’re doing and I am here all the way. And I’m also learning so much interesting things and how basically the whole Bible just intertwines with each other and gives off foreshadowing. I don’t think I would’ve ever went into those thoughts if it wasn’t for y’all and I think that just completely describes of how awesome our God is. I really been having some trouble staying with my faith and I was in kind of like a breaking point in my relationship with Jesus. But I think things are lighting up and finding y’all podcast just made me want to dig deeper into knowing Jesus and restoring my relationship with him. Anyways I just wanna give thanks and remind y’all that what you’re doing makes a big difference in my life and I can surely tell you that it makes a big difference In others as well. :)

Great companion to reading the OT!
It is difficult to read the Old Testament from start to finish and without proper context, can be depressing or confusing. This podcast helper SO much to keep the Christological focus throughout and does a fabulous job of teaching. Thank you!!!

    WOW, JUST WOW!!
So I have just finished my listening trek of bingeing 40 mins in the Old Testament, from the 1st to the current episodes and I feel blessed. This podcast, along with 30 mins in the New Testament has just plain open eyes and increased my depth of understanding of the word. I can hardly wait for the next episodes of both. Thank you!!

    Christ in the Old Testament
I decided to give this podcast a try when I got caught up with 30 Minutes of the New Testament (which I absolutely love). I was admittedly not all that excited about the Old Testament. However, this podcast quickly sucked me in with the first episode! The main reason I absolutely love this podcast is the fact that it is very Christ centered. Thank you Chad and Dan for doing such an amazing job. You bring me great joy during my hour drive to and from work!
