    Best true crime podcast
Thank you for being respectful of the people and the communities that are featured in your stories. I love this podcast so much.

    Dull and thoughtless
The hosts are very dull, both in their presentation of the material and their commentary on it. Both have a habit of speculating while strongly asserting their feelings as facts without citing any evidence, sometimes contradicting themselves in the process. All in all, I truly can’t understand why this is such a popular podcast.

    Paywall
One of my favorite podcasts. But the paywall restricts are insane, barley any access to old (2y+) episodes

The absolute most down to earth true crime podcast!
When they drop a new episode, I’m so happy. In between I listen to the older ones. It’s like having your friends over. Smart, funny, well researched. Loves it.

    Great episode every week
I enjoy every episode and the way they tell a story. Well researched, easy to listen, very informative.

    Great Podcast
One of the first podcasts I found to listen to regularly. They have very little chitchat etc and go deep into cases. I don’t mind chit chat but I know some people look for podcasts that cut small talk. My favorites episodes are when they do cases where perhaps the wrong person is imprisoned. Typically the cover a single case in a single episode.

    True Blue Guys
I love that I can count on a show in my feed every Sunday on time for bedtime. I also love that they get right to the story with no personal chit-chit like so many far less successful shows do. The topics and style are excellent, as is production quality like sound.

Their dedication to unraveling the complexities of true crime cases and unsolved mysteries is evident, as they delve deep into each story, exploring various angles and theories with precision and care. Stepford weird
This podcast is so strange and rigid. They sound like they are Stepford entities. I wonder if they ever listen to how they sound. The information presented is so strange. Below average IQ information.

    Enjoy the show!
The Generation Why is a podcast that I come back to time and time again and listen to on a regular basis. I haven’t taken the time before to truly appreciate how much I do enjoy it. I like the dynamic between the hosts, Aaron and Justin. I like how they will often watch different material or videos related to the case and to be able to give their insights on that. Aaron does more of the intro/breakdown of the case while Justin kind of will interpret more the different aspects of it which I like and enjoy. I also like Justin’s laugh, lol. Thank you for being a constant.

    Political and bored
I deleted my old review where I was more generous with my rating. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but the more I listened the more I saw my original thoughts were correct. The hosts are incredibly political and while I respect and don’t mind opinions, they repeatedly go off track and derail into 20 minute anti police or left wing rants and it takes me out of the cases. One episode they kept insinuating that all of the southeast US is racist. When they do talk about the cases, they sound bored and uninterested. I had to unfollow. I’ll stick to True crime garage and true crime all the time

    Really good
I feel like these guys are interpreting information with us and for us. True crime is kind of gross, but these guys are coming from a different angle. I love listening.

    Horrible Listen
Cannot get past the fake “NPR” and EXTREME nasal talk/voices. Fake “banter” thought up and rehearsed ahead of time. Everything is wrong here

    8 years
Its been 8 years that ive listened to Justin and Aaron. I found you two after the sudden passing of my dad when i was 21. I could not grasp his death, so i went on a tirade of consuming the death of strangers. Wish i could understand what makes both of you so special to me, but either way, im hoping for another 8 years of tuning in.. big love from Ohio. thank you 🤎

    Armchair Experts
I’ve been listening to them for a few years now and it’s to the point where I only listen now when none of the other podcasts I listen to have anything new. Even then it comes with an eyeroll and a ‘is this really all that I have right now?’ internal thought. At first I liked the scope of the murders they covered and there were so many they did that weren’t just the big ones that you feel every podcast has done. However even though that still rings true, they seem to just constantly criticize law enforcement at every turn and it’s getting very old. They use a very condescending tone anytime they bring up someone that they don’t agree with whether that’s officers, family of the victims, jurors, lawyers, judges, etc and I’m not here for that. Will be unfollowingx

    Great Podcast!
Justin and Aaron are the OGs of True Crime podcasting, consistently serving up content so good, it's like they're trying to make us think we are detectives or something. I've been hooked on Generation Why for years - it's one of only two podcasts I actually look forward to, and I've never missed an episode because, well, priorities. Plus, unlike a lot of newer true crime podcasts, they're all about the content, and not about stirring up drama or getting all political and stuff.

    The Best!
Long time listener. These guys are the best. Highly recommend a follow!

    The most chill
This is by far my favorite murder podcast. Their voices are so soothing. They have great information. I love the stilted small talk at the beginning. They're just awesome.

    Chiefsaholic
Love the podcast! But cmon don’t sit there and act like victims about the chiefs. People don’t hate the chiefs because “they’ve won enough”. You know it, we all know it. Giving you a 5 star review because I love the podcast but can’t let yall get away with the nonsense.

Somehow this show eases my anxiety :)
It makes no sense but it’s true - listening to Justin and Aaron calms me down. I found this show a few months ago and was immediately hooked - went back to the oldest episodes on Wondery and listened all the way through to current then joined the patreon for more haha. I was not into the true crime genre before finding gen why but this pod and these hosts are outstanding. I really enjoy the way they present cases and I feel like I’ve learned so much about our courts and the justice system, which I’ve never interacted with directly. Really valuable knowledge. With the chaos of the world, somehow gen why helps me relax and calm down (I don’t get it either ;)). I also love Marooned!! Great storytellers with intelligent, nuanced perspectives. Thank you, Justin and Aaron!!

    Grammar
Anne Marie had WENT back? 🤯 Bad grammar makes you sound stupid.

    Different perspective
I enjoy the perspectives of the hosts. Some of the cases I’d heard of and others I hadn’t.

Finally, a show where the hosts seem to actually know the subject
I love these guys! They routinely present a well researched, unbiased opinion on a subject. However, this doesn’t mean I feel they arent sympathetic, just that they tell the story fairly. They definitely have a basic understanding of criminal procedure and apply a common sense, emotionally neutral approach. I yell at my speakers far less for these guys than I do most other true crime podcasts that seem to jump at conclusions too early or are otherwise completely clueless as to how our legal system is set up.

    Great but
Tired of getting ads even though I subscribe to Wondery+. I listen on Apple Podcasts.
  • Love2Dance80
    Yikes
I tried listening to a few of the episodes but I couldn't finish any of them. The hosts are biased and very anti-police.

    No real research
The McCoy episode was terrible. No research… they repeated Wikipedia. 5 minutes of research using brave shows Richard McCoy story.. this version of podcast isn’t even close to the truth

    Amazing show
Both hosts are amazing. They cover each story with compassion and intelligence. Keep it up, I’ve been listening for a few years

    Great show
but please teach Justin how to pronounce “genre”
  • debllstl
    Very good crime series
Aron and Justin tell these crime stories with facts and compassion. I like their analysis at the end of the episodes. It’s not too much, just enough to wrap things up and give their common sense opinions, always rational and thoughtful. These are serious crimes, lives lost, and Aron & Justin treat these stories with respect. They both have great voices for podcasting, too!
  • Yayitsrah
    Very chill
Not annoying at all, voices are soothing and pleasant. Stories are easy to follow and straight to the point.
  • Shell~Shock
    My Favorite True Crime Podcast
Justin and Aaron are such great storytellers. You can tell they do extensive research to ensure we get all of the information. A major plus for me is they only spend a couple of mins off the top talking about “news and notes.” I love that they get right into the story!
  • candrim77
    Marvelous
Justin’s voice is like silk to my ears and Aaron is the perfect storytelling compliment. Great podcast. Compelling discussion. Soothing delivery.
  • tybeegirl

One of the best true crime pods
I’ve been listening to these guys for many years, and they’re still one of my top favs!! They do a good job of remaining neutral while presenting the facts.

Here to confirm I listen to the first minute
And that my fiancé and I guess if it’s gonna be “how ya doing tonight Aaron” or “how ya doing tonight Justin” during the intro music. If we are right, we go “NICEEEE”
  • Uslayme2021
Loads of episodes to binge on
Excellent discussion of cases with centrist to no political bias. Absolutely refreshing in an era of vicious attacks on anything perceived as leaning toward one type of political spectrum. Aaron and Justin have an extensive number of episodes to enjoy

Best podcast in the history of podcasts
You guys get me through long work shifts and I hope you know I appreciate yall. Wish yall did more high profile political and societal things such as OKC and the Unabomber but nonetheless, great podcast.

    🤩
I always listen from the beginning. Announcements and all. Sometimes I listen more than once because I love to fall asleep to you guys and then relisten while getting ready the next morning. I would ask that the music at the end not happen though.
  • Mander1313
