Put the topic in the episode title
Hey guys. Put the topic (the film under discussion) in the episode title. To find the one I was looking for — recommended on Letterboxd — I was going to have to manually open and read the details of 88 episodes. That’s asking too much of first-time listeners. So I might become a no-time listener. A little planning goes a long way!

    Smart fun for Hammerheads
The hosts are charming, knowledgeable, articulate, have fun chemistry, and are clearly having a good time. They also have critical discernment that allows them to have intelligent discussions instead of just fan gushing (though there’s some of that too - when Peter Cushing rolls up his sleeves, Liz gets the vapors). Plus there’s an opinionated female co-host and a *little* intersectional feminist critique, both of which make fragile men sputter, so that’s always a plus. One of those podcasts that I put on to get a lift during a drab or stressful day, and it’s inspired me to dig back into the Hammer catalog.

Now this is how a Hammer Podcast should sound like
The two hosts are very personable and knowledgeable in their subject, which happens to be Hammer Studios’ horror films. Their affection for the films comes through with every episode. Very well done!!!

    Fantastic movie podcast
Wonderful podcast. I love hearing about the Hammer horror movies and spend time each month looking into how to watch the movie under discussion. Great interplay between Liz and Paul.

    This is for you if...
You like having plots explained by a mumbling bumbler who’s brow beaten by an annoying millennial who continually attempts to force an intersectional feminist critique on 60 year old classics.

    I’ve noticed
Paul says “Er, Uhh” and “Umm” a lot. So, although I love Hammer Horror and am pleased there is a podcast devoted to it, it’s very difficult to really enjoy it when one of the two people has this inability to speak without the endless filler. Just for fun I counted them, and during the summary on the latest episode alone he did it 103 times, which is egregious. My other main gripe is the ridiculous schtick wherein Liz pretends to be offended by things Paul says and is oh so affronted, again and again.

    Delightful & informative
This podcast brings me joy every month, and it's been a treat to learn about so many Hammer films (as well as the performers and filmmakers themselves). Great work, Liz and Paul!
