Great info all 2A community should know!
As a new silencer owner and 2A enthusiast this is by far the best info for anyone looking to get into silencers! Very helpful and could help with always what I find myself in and that’s deciding on what to spend my money on and in this case silencers !!

    Fantastic information!
Just starting listening a few weeks ago. I’m on episode 28 as of today 6-2-24. This guy knows his stuff. I haven’t purchased a suppressor yet but the more I learn and informed I am, the better I am going to be when I decide to purchase one. Thanks Jay for the information. I will be a member of pew science soon. Thanks for the information.

Absolutely the best, most non biased, scientific, NON CONDESCENDING source for scientific analysis for firearms systems and suppressors. Absolutely worth paying for.

    A+
Came to this podcast after years of supporting PewScience. Listened for the science. Stayed for the rambling.

    Wealth of knowledge
Not to sound super dramatic but these podcasts will be looked back on as the spark that ignited change in the way a whole industry markets and design their products. The man knows what he’s talking about and he’s passionate about it. If you’re into silencer’s for small arms you already know about this podcast!

10 minute wealth of information in a 60min haystack
Jay without doubt knows what he’s talking about. I appreciate what he does. I appreciate him putting in the effort on these pod casts. Holy cow do I wish he’d get to the point. He rambles and self congratulates for so long that I get bored, zone out and have to rewind to find the morsels of good information.

    Needs an editor
Jay rambles, can’t get to the point, and buries his insights deep in self congratulations and jousting at social media detractors. When he dies make a point he uses oblique language or terms of art he rarely explains. He seems to enjoy talking past his audience. I’ve been listening since podcast 1 and the signal to noise is getting lower and much worse.

Great stuff from an actual scientist
I have found that often in gun culture, we end up believing in hype, falling victim to fads and over the top advertising. What Pew Science does is truly admirable, which is putting black and white data up for consumers. There are probably no markets that would not benefit from this type of testing. This podcast is his weekly soap box from which he talks about Pew Science’s latest efforts. I enjoy it and I admire his efforts. Here’s to more Jays in the world, and to the normalization of suppressed small arms.

    Great show
Great show. I look forward to every new episode. Legacy Media is Dead! Podcasts are the only way to get news and info nowadays.

    Best Podcast
Jay has such a great way of delivering all the information you could ever need. Also allows you to think for yourself. Funny too!

    Just read the website review
Good stuff but you need to skip through a huge amount of rambling to get to it. There is preamble upon preamble upon preamble…
  • cdc729
    Informative and thoughtful but meandering
I love what Jay does and his content. However, it’s so drawn out and meandering. These podcasts could be cut by 30%. Sure, he has a set plan for each episode, but wow does it take forever to get through each point. If Jay were more succinct this would be a 5 star podcast.

    Very informative
Amazing podcast on silencers. Great and science based way to learn more about silencers. Glad this is out there!

    Silencer nerd heaven
This is the podcast to follow religiously if you want to know more about cans than you thought possible. Jay is pushing (dragging might be a better term) the industry forward with Pew Science, and this podcast is mandatory supporting material imo. Keep up the good work brother!

    Super educational and fun
Jay provides technical analysis for suppressed weapon systems in a unique way our industry has never had before. Prepare to learn!

    Data driven discussions
Jay’s content informing consumers about silencers is really the only medium that should be taken seriously.

I appreciate the graphs and data presented as well as the Knowledge this guy has on the subjects he presents. The real appreciation is for someone like this do such a service for people, we need more people like this. Also they way he talks and delivers his findings reminds me of my lectures in college which I enjoy thoroughly.

    Very informative
I've learned so much from this podcast and the website. Truly helping the consumers buy the best cans. Nice to know exactly what I'm getting after the long wait. No more guessing if I’ll like the can or if it'll be what I'm looking for anymore. I have used this podcast and website data to make my last 6 can purchases. Keep the great work up and thank you.

    The best!
Since discovering this podcast over a year ago I have listened to the entire backlog and look forward to every new episode. Jay breaks it down, and digs into the nitty gritty of silencers, firearms, and I love when he delves into physical training topics as well. My favorite podcast by far!

    Unique in so many ways
Jay is a perfect combination of engineering nerd, gun connoisseur, hunting enthusiast and quirky personality, which makes this podcast very enjoyable to fellow geeks. Data driven analysis, great ideas about gear, hunting and pretty much anything else. All I could ask for is to expand your sample size and testing boundary conditions. Only change I would recommend is that he sometimes overdoes the “marketing aspect” of Pew. 4-5 times in a podcast can be a bit much. But hey it’s free so I guess I can ask for my money back any time ;) thanks for your time and effort on this topic.

Jay is doing amazing, unbiased work. It’s much appreciated & needed in this industry. cans shouldn’t require a stamp!!!!

Mandatory to listen to for Suppressors
I cannot stress enough how useful Jay’s work is in educating owners on the nuances of Suppressor design. He is literally on a quest to reform and improve the Silencer industry. Unlike most “reviewers” Jay brings to the table real technical expertise and rigorous empirical data on top of his extensive knowledge of The Industry. He’s made all the road trips I’ve made while moving homes way more pleasant. 👍

Science to applied to suppressors and more
Science applied to suppressors and cool guns. Finally we have accurate data to find the best suppressor for our application. Jay makes the podcast entertaining and informative covering gun topics to suppressor performance to questions and general happenings in the world. I highly recommend

    Expend your knowledge
If you want to learn more about silencers and how they work and how they affect your weapon systems I suggest getting caught up on the Jay situation and join PEW Science. I’ve been listening to the podcast since September and recently joined PEW science and I have gained a lot of information that has helped me with my equipment.

    Occasionally Useful
There are some thought-provoking episodes here but you’ll have to get used to the host’s occasionally condescending style. Not a lot of “which suppressor to buy” help here but some interesting scientific models and suppressor comparisons.
  • goodtimes2012
    Love it
Great podcast. I love how it isn’t scripted and he says what he thinks. Great explanation of the data posted on pew science.
  • Indigo Pilot
    Has potential but needs work
Good information and data but podcast series needs a lot of polishing. Host needs to be way more succinct. He rants and rambles way too much and even starts getting upset as he rants and rambles to himself - it’s weird and wastes a lot of time.
  • elrojoaz
    Elrojo
Probably the best podcast on a data biased, non bias platform. New technology on suppressor testing that equally compares different brands of suppressors.
  • Ty ty the fry guy frog
Doing God’s work, but needs work
The host is knowledgeable and passionate, but his delivery and style lack production quality. His message has the potential to reach a wider audience if he chose to be succinct in his argument, and incorporate a co host for a conversational style podcast. Unless you’re already passionate about the firearms industry, it’s difficult to sit through an hour and a half of late night sleepy talk which routinely goes off track. I mean no offense, it’s just that there’s a lot of potential wasted here.

Excellent source for news on Pewscience, data based analysis of silencer sound performance
It is refreshing to hear data based analysis of silencer sound performance. Until now, there was no way to cut through the marketing fluff as tests didn’t have the proper equipment or knowledge to present fact based information. Consumers appreciate your efforts!
  • mattvanourney

    Like gross noises?
Constant sniffling, slurping, choking, bleh. For a podcast about silencers this sure is loud and disgusting. You can edit a podcast!
  • glockteenelevun
    Groundbreaking
The research these guys are doing is making the industry so much better. Consumers previously had nothing but unreliable, inconsistent testing done. As the data in this grows, it’s going to be THE standard for comparison and finally consumers will have quality data to guide their very costly and time-consuming purchases with their hard earned money.
