Pelican JoeLong time listenerI love this podcast! It keeps me up to date on the scifi shows that are currently playing. I like to listen to their non-spoilery quick reviews on the shows currently playing so that I can decide whether the show is good enough to invest my time watching. I have been listening so long to this podcast, it is like Wendy, Brent and Kevin are old dear friends! This podcast is definitely worth your time if you love sci fi TV shows!

Akapl2002Steady,consistent/well produced but....Update— Wow!!! It’s been 10 years since I posted a review of this podcast—I drifted away from listening to podcasts’ awhile back but have found myself once again with some time for watching some genre tv and time to listen to this podcast—which really says something—of all the genre podcasts’ I could listen to (and in fact previously did listen tp) with my limited time it’s this one I return to—-it was akin upon first returning, to putting on an old comfortable sweater. It’s just been great listening/hearing the old familiar voices again- And to the 3 principals—my hats off to ya—you really should be proud of your longevity—it’s really quite remarkable not only that you’ve been on and are still on for all these years but the stability that the 3 of you have enjoyed—-and it really does come across in the podcast—you are so comfortable and you make it sound so easy—it’s an absolute pleasure to listen to—thank you for still being here!!! You sound better than ever!! Edit: Ideahr? Kevin? Spell it...say it... AND- thank you all for the only podcast I make sure to catch weekly- Read headline then read the following: Ain't that how it always goes... There's always a "but".... I first discovered the 3 primaries of this podcast when I got mildly obsessed (and remain so) with Farscape. Kevin was one of the hosts of the "Scapecast", Wendy anchored the news portion and Brent (who seems to be the king of far points media) produced and generally seemed to rule over all that he surveyed--lol. So here's the "but" of the matter- I just wish that sometimes these 3 would get a bit more controversial,a bit edgier (or even edgy at all....a little bit....please). Kevin seems afraid of opinions of any nature...fearful of anything at all that might differ w/any of the "folks" listening. Wendy has opinions but I just get the sense that she,s been told to keep a lid on it. So while this is a very vanilla podcast, it is a very very good podcast-- and it's the professionalism and dedication of these 3 hosts' So while there is a "but" I appreciate the solid nature of this podcast- Thanks-

MyVogonPoetryThis is my favorite podcast (Don’t tell the others)Kevin, Wendy and Brent do an amazing job of covering the ever expanding genre world of television. Always the first with news in their comprehensive segment and I really enjoy the Spoiler free reviews that let me know if a show is worth checking out. I have listened for years and will keep on as long as they keep recording. Try it won’t you?

YogabonGenre TV catchersThese two guys and a gal gather genre shows into one podcast like a good appetizer sampler plate. I've found new shows thanks to their suggestions, and keep up with returning shows.

SkiznotFun Consistent QualityI must have been listening to this show for at least two years now and it is my go to companion for my TV viewing year. One of the things I appreciate about it over some other sci-fi fan podcasts is that it stays civil and they really understand the diversity of expectations and personalities of the viewers will lead to different tastes and therefore different judgements. In other words disagreements are always civil. All three hosts watch with a critical eye and I don’t mean that they criticize everything; what they do is a critique with reason behind each judgement. You won’t get the “it was boring” type of comment, instead they will give actual reasons why they find something compelling or not. Sometimes I feel like listening to their show during my busy work is like a re-watch of my favorite episodes. Also it comes in handy to understand what is going on with shows I decided to stop watching so even if a show is not on my viewing schedule, I keep abreast of what is going on in genre entertainment; I can actually be informed about the shows I’m not watching so I can understand more geek culture references and be part of more conversations. Keep up the good work and congrats on your upcoming milestone guys!

Mean But EfficientGreat for genre fans!As a genre TV fan, I really enjoy this podcast. The podcast episodes are divided up into two sections The Watercooler and The Back Porch. The Watercooler features quick reviews of episodes that aired within the last week, news items, and discussion of a "tuner minute" topic of the week. The Back Porch features some more in depth discussion of 2-3 shows. I don't watch nearly the number of shows that Kevin, Wendy, and Brent do, so I often don't listen past the "Watercooler" section of the show but I really this section and it's the bulk of the episode. I like hearing the quick reviews to give me a sense of whether starting to watch a new show might be worth is, and I appreciate that they stay on top of news items related to genre TV. And I actually really enjoy the discussions of the "Tuner Minute" question of the week. I've called in a few times to add my two cents to the discussion.

myalecDetailedI like that enough details are provided that I can choose to watch a show or ignore it. It's comprehensive and entertaining.

Michelle EaleyFind new stuff from themBecause they discuss many sci-fi, fantasy, horror shows, I'm kept up to date, and I find out if a show is worth my time. Because of them I found Orphan Black. Good job, team!

rdmyers97115Genre to the MaxTuning in to SciFi TV is a weekly Genre TV show discussion podcast. The cast is Wendy Hembrock, Brent Barrett, and Kevin Bachelder (AKA the Mark Sheppard of Podcasting). The program starts with the water cooler segment that is a quick rating of the weekly SciFi, Fantasy and other genre television shows. The ratings are Watch It Now, Watch It Soon, Watch It Later, Let it Sit or Skip it. Then they have a news segment followed by the Back Porch, an in depth Discussion of select shows. They have a supplemental podcast called The Last Call which includes discussions of shows they did not cover in the Back Porch. All and all it is a fun show.

MikeMurphy260A fantastic listen!Week after week Keving brings his passion of sci-fi films to the ears of many listeners. It's always very fun to listen to and Kevin (and guests, when he has them on) are as good as they come.

waelseFun and informativeEntertaining discussions and ratings of new sci-fi TV shows, initially without spoilers and later more discussions with spoilers. Separate podcasts to discuss B-movies are a bonus, plus polls on top sci-fi shows, top sci-fi characters, counted down with audio clips. Best show of it's kind I know.

reddqueenKeeps me informed and entertainedLove this podcast, wish they would do a separate one just on Babylon 5. But love it love it love it!!!

Sophie1979Glad I found it.Love the 100 countdown, and I will definitely keep listening after it's done. You guys are constantly turning me on to new sci-fi/ genre shows I've never heard of. Keep up the great work.

3dollydayfab, informativethese three podcasters are informative and funny. They respect everyone's opinions even if they disagree. They are friendly and make you want to join the conversation. I find myself wanting to add my two cents to their conversations. I like their format, the way they break up the podcast. I think you will enjoy listening into their podcast.

GenreJunkieKeeps me up to dateThis is exactly the show I've been looking for. It keeps me up to date on all the new genre television (science fiction, fantasy, etc.). If I miss a new show announcement, I know this show will let me know about it in time to set my DVR. And every so often they even talk about some older classic shows that I missed the first time around. On top of all of that, the hosts sound like my buddies and I as we go back and forth on shows. All around a great way to spend an hour a week.

Jesse W JacksonOnly the good stuff! You know how you buy a bag of assorted mini candy bars and everyone goes through picking out their favorite. Some like the semi-sweet dark chocolate and others love the Mr. Goodbar and that works if you are buying for a group but if you are buying just for yourself, you want to buy a bag of your favorites, the good stuff. Well a lot of TV podcasts cover a lot of shows. And I love diversity in covering TV shows and heaven knows I watch way too much TV but I it is sort of nice to find a podcast that is just the good stuff. No discussion of Top Model, Big Brother or American Idol. (Not that there is anything wrong with that). I love listening to people discuss The Office and 30 Rock as well as House or CSI but there is something special about listening to Scifi geeks talking with great affection about Scifi TV. It's Scifi specific and Scifi-errific! So if you understand that while Wesley Crusher wasn't cool, Wil Wheaton is cool. That there is a specific example of how 5 can be less then 1.. That Sam never leaped home, that being on the losing side, doesn't mean you were on the wrong side and that the answer to the one of life's most important questions is 42, this is your podcast!
