MegNoOne13LoveOne of my favorite podcast to listen to! 🍎

User4678654323578874478Lack of care and respect for foreign names/placesI agree with a previous reviewer. The recent episode on Kadena Airbase (not pronounced “KahDina”) was difficult to listen to. Kaelyn’s lack of care/respect in researching how to pronounce all the Japanese names/places was obvious and appalling.

Vv1965It’s good but…It’s a good podcast, but there are way too many ads more than any other podcast that I listen to and also I don’t like the fact that we’re supposed to pay for a subscription for more intriguing stories. Other than that it is a good podcast and entertaining and I like the format and how she tells the stories.

Rat RoachkskskcndmsLOVE THIS PODCASTI love this podcast because I just love mysterys and the paranormal and I love hearing everyone’s stories just 🤌🏻 -Abby J

The GOAT podcastAbsolutely AMAZING!!!As a pre-teen, this is my GO TO PODCAST!!! Kaelyn had the most soothing yet mysterious voice I’ve EVER heard! I listen to this everywhere! In the car, cleaning, running, and sometimes even while taking a shower. If you haven’t listened to an episode yet, get out from under that rock and get your heart to start pounding!!! Seriously though, this is probably the best podcast ever. Thank you Kaelyn SO MUCH for making Heart Starts Pounding become a thing!!!

Odille16Enjoyable, but there are hiccups.I thoroughly enjoy this podcast and am excited every time a new episode drops, but the latest episode about Kadena Air Base was a disappointment. The content regarding the spooky happenings was entertaining, but the mispronunciations of Kadena, Okinawa, Maeda, and several other words were grating. It makes me question the research behind the episode and rethink my decision to continue listening. I understand that Kaelyn is from the US and Kadena is a US military base, but that doesn’t excuse the disrespect that comes from reporting on a place to listeners around the world touting relevant research and still not getting the pronunciation of culturally significant words right.

_Gay_Frog_My fav podcast!!My friend recommended this podcast to me. I’m so glad I checked it out, because it is now my favorite podcast! I enjoy all the different stories and also discovered MWMH through the collab episode you did with them! So good, but please bring Leo back!! I miss them so much!!
-
MissMeeLeiLove it but-No more stuff with Morgan Absher please. Her voice and inflection are awful. Couldn't make it 3 minutes in the latest episode featuring her. She goes from that flat "Valley girl" affect to everything? being? a question?

Podcast junkie6791Love this podcastI love this podcast! The show has a variety of very interesting topics. Kaelyn does a great job! 🍎

Jane 1890SpookyEnjoy this all year round :)

itsbellatapiaOne of my favesAbsolutely love but there’s too many ads
-
foxsongsYupVery good. Cheers
-
T-DauerFar too many adsThe stories are interesting and nicely written. I fully support having ads to earn commissions and extra money, however this podcast has far too many for the length of an episode.
-
Sara_halloweenloverLove listening to this podcast !I love listening to this podcast while I’m working at the lab, which is known to be very spooky at night, possibly haunted!

iCentaur.comRecommend story Mexico“The Fire That Floated” In a small village tucked into the Sierra de Puebla, an old woodcutter named Don Mateo lived alone at the edge of the forest. Each evening, he walked down the mountain trail with his mule, bundled with kindling, just as the sun dipped below the pine-covered hills. One night, as he returned home under a moonless sky, he saw something strange ahead—a campfire. But it wasn’t on the ground. The flame hovered three feet in the air, flickering gently, as if tended by invisible hands. There was no smoke, no crackling wood, no smell. Just fire—silent, suspended. Don Mateo stood frozen. He’d heard the elders speak of such things. “Lumbre de bruja,” they warned. “If you stare too long, it’ll follow you home.” He turned away. The fire moved. It drifted toward him, slow at first—then faster. He dropped his bundle and ran, heart pounding. The fire chased him down the slope, weaving between trees, never touching a branch, never dimming. When he reached his hut and slammed the door, the fire floated just outside his window, glowing silently in the dark. All night, it stayed there, pulsing like a heartbeat. At dawn, it vanished. The next day, the village priest came to bless the land. He said nothing, only sprinkled holy water and muttered prayers in Latin and Nahuatl. Don Mateo never spoke of it again. But sometimes, on cloudless nights, children would see a soft glow in the forest and whisper, “The lumbre’s watching.” And no one walked that trail after sundown.

ChiventuraSo goodI love the variety of topics and personality that is shown through these adventures. Well done!

avielllaher skepticism ruins the magicwell written and researched, but why does she need to subtly disprove all of the mystery/folklore that make these types of stories interesting? It’s kind of a let down when you want to listen to a ‘spooky’ podcast for the magic and the one telling the stories is a skeptic..

Gam krakrrWI’m probably one of the youngest listeners on this podcast 13, I found it about a month ago and it my favorite thing to do in my free time. I love this podcast.
-
Kat52018LOVEI absolutely love this podcast. I’m a SAHM with 1 year old twins and listening to these amazing tales keeps me sane 😂 also, Kaelyn and Leo remind me of me and my sister so much. Just so comforting and familiar to listen to ya’ll banter 🥰
-
AyyymanduhMy FavoriteMy go to podcast. Finally found a podcast that has everything I like 💚
-
btykodi“Episode with Clues”I love your podcast but I am suddenly a bit concerned about what I am supporting. Was there a political agenda put forth at the end of the podcast?
-
Megan W. L.AwfulIf you enjoy ads and a host who overly explains things so 14 girls on twitter don’t get offended then this is the pod for you.
-
PoddyPodsTHTI will listen to and share EVERYTHING as long as you girls don’t get political and bash 1/2 of the USA like MFM and M**bid do. ❤️😊

jswan6784All the mystery and intrigue!FANTASTIC podcast I just started listening to this podcast a month ago and I have dived in head first. I love the bite sized episodes that I can listen to while getting ready and on my way to work. My favorite episodes so far have been the episode with the 1,00 faces (I think that was the name of it) and any sort of paranormal/cryptics, and the episode of the Hotel Fire I just finished listening to the episode about sleep paralysis and it reminded me of the worst experience of sleep paralysis that I ever had and to this day it still freaks me out how realistic it was. Keep up the great job I can’t wait to catch up on all the episodes!!! Fan for life
-
The_Fadoraim actually obsessedThis is my favorite podcast. I love scary things, but these stories are a mixture of horror and a lot of interesting facts. I love it! EDIT- UGH IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER LIKE ACTUALLY. I wanna get the premium so so bad. I love how long they are and the hosts voice is just a 10/10 for the show. UGH ITS JUST SO GOOD. The episode topics are just chefs kiss 👨🍳❤️🤌 I would give more stars if I could
-
RaylardI love this podcast. There aren’t words to describe how much I love this podcast! Kaelyn tells stories so eloquently and the sound effects make you feel like you’re there!!! I listen to her for hours on end at work and in my walks. She covers so many topics, both old and new. It’s so refreshing. She’s also very respectable to the people that these stories impact.
-
Sammie BramascoWHAT AN AMAZING PODCASTThe way Kaelyn tells stories and recounts terrifying, mysterious, and sometimes mystical tales just draws you to in! This podcast definitely gets my heart pounding when I listen , I LOVE IT!
-
mckayofspadesEasily my favorite podcast!Kaelyn’s ability to weave together a cohesive and compelling narrative every single episode is amazing. I love the balance she strikes between offering a supernatural explanation and a ‘known’ world explanation. I binged all of the episodes in 2 months and then subscribed for the bonus content ( WELL worth the cost) and am now re-listening to it all again. 10/10, no notes.
-
AshdeebugLove it but :)I absolutely love this podcast. I like all of the spooky and mysterious stories. But it always goes back to “the science” or oh this is what really happened. ( like the Antarctica episode) Some things ARE supernatural and mystical. Some things are unexplained. Not everything needs an explanation and not everything can be explained by science or an expert. We live in a spooky unexplained world.

Samantha.HadleyEntertaining and UnproblematicIt’s so nice to find a great podcast that focuses on the creepy stuff but doesn’t take that hard turn into problematic territory! It’s hard to find that kind of thing especially in the conspiracy space.
-
Tomthebomb90010/10 showListening to the spontaneous combustion as a diabetic gave me another thing to fear 😆
-
MraRzPrzMy favorite creepy podcast!!I’m a huge fan of this podcast. So much so that I signed up for the premium subscription to unlock all the archived and bonus episodes! Kaelyn does such an amazing job with her writing and narration, not to mention the production level of each episode. The music and sound effects really help paint the scene and mood! I also love that it isn’t strictly paranormal/true crime. It’s just all those morbidly dark curiosities under one roof. A fan FOR LIFE!! 🍎
-
hellofromDCNo free episodesI liked this podcast a lot, but lately there’s no episodes to listen to for free. I get it, but will not be following any more.
-
girl michaelRefreshingI love this podcast! It has a nice variety in all things spooky. Not just true crime. Also I love that she gets to the point but also gives all the details I want. Big fan!
-
Amazing guestsFill the void in your little black heart🖤This is my favorite podcast! I listen every week! I love anything dark and macabre. Also love learning even if I knew about a certain legend or true crime story at the end of the episode I have learned something new about that story even if it’s a little detail. Kaelyn’s voice is easy to listen to which always makes a podcast enjoyable as well! Thank you and your team for all your research and all you do! Definitely give this a listen, I promise you’ll be hooked!🖤
-
SnorlaxxingFun show!Overall, I love the show. I love learning about new things. The one thing that I don’t like is how many ads there are spread around the entire show. There’s been at least three add breaks in this last episode and it’s only about an hour long and each of the ad breaks takes about 3 to 4 minutes, which I frankly just skip but That’s the only downside to this show it’s beautifully produced beautifully made, and again shows a lot of things that I don’t know that I get to learn about
-
YelaheenerAn audio cabinet of curiosities!Found this podcast during Halloween last year, but it’s amazing year-round. It’s like an audio cabinet of curiosities, a variety of stories and mysteries and all things darkly curious. Amazing background music and effects and the host is so engaging and respectful—Love it!
-
Mawce Feathers 🍋🪲Amazingly chilling!I’ve been listening for about two years now, and I still love this podcast! HSP is what really got me into true crime, and I’m all in now. My favorite episodes have to be Long Haul Horror, the Khamar-Daban Incident, and that one about stalking. I’ve loved watching this podcast grow in my time sticking with it!
-
Aimee Marie aka FreyacatI’m starting to withdraw where are you? 🍏 why am I finding you on Amazon Music before you show hereYou better come back soon. It’s been too long since the last episode.🍎

mysterymachexcellent.EDIT- Has time has gone on my esteem for this pod has grown. I'd give it more stars if i could. Just sticks with you. I thought i was pretty much over paranormal podcasts but now I work in a night office with a lot of down time, and thought it would be an excellent atmosphere to indulge in some new pods. This one is exactly what you want. Its spooky, without being overblown, and presents cases i haven't heard of. Just well done.
-
BriegetteWAmazing pod castIt’s the perfect blend of horror/paranormal and true crime. Her story telling abilities are amazing and I LOVE the sound effects. It really draws you into the story.

CaitlynC55If you love a good eerie story—the kind that lingers in your mind long after the episode ends—Heart Starts Pounding is a must-listen. And trust me, as a proud member of the High Council on Patreon, I can confidently say that Kaelyn Moore is next level when it comes to storytelling. Kaelyn has an incredible ability to pull you into each tale, weaving together history, true crime, and the paranormal with a smooth, hypnotic voice that somehow makes everything even creepier. Her research is meticulous, the production is flawless, and she has a way of building suspense that keeps you hanging on every word. Whether it’s unsolved mysteries, hauntings, or those real-life stories that are scarier than fiction, she delivers each episode with the perfect mix of chilling atmosphere and thoughtful analysis. The Patreon experience is also fantastic—Kaelyn gives her supporters amazing extra content, and being part of the High Council makes the whole experience even more immersive (and, let’s be honest, extra spooky in the best way). If you’re not listening to Heart Starts Pounding yet, you’re seriously missing out. Just don’t blame me when you start jumping at every creak in your house!

-
Gigi_07711/10Literally love this show so much. I found it last March and binge-listened to every single episode. Every episode is planned out and leaves me wishing I had more to listen to. I’d recommend to anyone who’s darkly curious.
-
JustagirlwholoveshorrorLove Love Love this so muchMy best friend introduced me to this podcast a few months ago and I haven’t been able to stop listening to it ( not that I tried lol). I totally recommend listening to it if you’re into the dark, mystery side of things.
-
Mmks2015Great listenI’ve been following this show since it began and each week I look forward to the next episode. It’s also the only podcast I am subscribed to so it eliminates the ads. I will forever be a listener sharing this show with everyone I meet.
