    Designing boredom
They used to have occasionally good content. I don’t always agree with their takes and that fine. Difference of opinion is vital and common in design however I hope their clients don’t listen and honestly outside of Nick they all seem rather egotistical which as a designer myself is a trait I’ve never understood quite frankly (maybe due to design being my second career path). Typically as of the last year I look at the subject title, listen for five minutes and 8 out of 10 times I just delete it. I’ve found more helpful instructions from online such as satori graphics (not very humble but knowledgeable), dansky and a few others.

    Liked it better before
As a longtime graphic designer, I don’t always agree with their take on things, but that’s fine. What isn’t fine with me are the sudden stream of F-bombs spewing from from the hosts’ mouths. If I can’t listen to it with my kids while driving, I won’t be listening at all. Sorry gang, but I’m done with it.

    Great podcast!
This podcast gave me the confidence to keep going with my career. I thought I wasn’t doing good because of the issues that I came across, but it turns out that most designers go through the same struggles. I wish you guys had time at the end of each episode to answer listener's questions. Great job guys!

    A Must If You’re A Designer!
This podcast is so great!! They talk about relevant topics which either helps me know I’m on point or need to brush up on something new. They are entertaining and informative, and it always leaves me with a renewed passion for my career. ❤️

    My favorite podcast!
Thank you guys so much for all the incredible insight. I am a recent graphic design grad and I have found your podcast super helpful. I have put much of your advice into action and it has helped me become more business savvy. Not to mention Wes, Nick, & Mikelle are all hilarious. I listen to episode after episode and it never gets old. Keep em coming!😊

    Love this show!
I found this show out of a sea of design podcasts. I really love the dynamic of all three of the hosts. They speak about relevant and current topics, and problems designers have plus they provide solutions or better ways of doing things. I’m a fan for life!

    Needs More Substance
I want to like this podcast, but it really needs more substance and focus. The majority of a typical episode consists of plugs, personal details, and complaining. I would listen to a podcast with just Nick. He’s light, positive, funny, and inquisitive. He’s the only host that’s entertaining for me to listen to. Wes and Mikelle seem to just really enjoy talking about themselves and whining about clients. And like another reviewer stated, the audio volume is also all over the place. I think this podcast could be great if it was more refined.

    A Must for All Designers
The Deeply Design cast does a fantastic job in providing professional insight into the field of design. This podcast is inspiring, educational, and entertaining. Basically, it’s one of my favorite podcasts and I would highly recommend for anyone who works or is interested in working in this field.

    Helpful and fun
I have been a rather isolated in-house designer for about eleven years. These three hosts are reinforcing that my design experiences are consistent with those of other designers, and I get to stay up on tips, tricks and trends. It’s worth a listen.

    Fun and Informative
Definitely worth a spot in your podcast rotation. Casual conversations about the business of design and all things related. Listening to this will make you better at what you do.

    Great content
As a designer for a printing company, I really enjoy the content that not only includes print/product design but also web and video. I’ve learned so much and am now more interested in branching out to other areas of design!

    Practical & Transparent Excellence
I recently made the jump to full time freelance and this pod and it’s content has been instrumental in giving me confidence along with practical application for every aspect I can think of. I’m telling everyone to listen! Thank y’all so much.

    Love these guys!
This podcast is very informative and educational about modern design practices. I love the variety of guests they bring on to share real world experiences about the topic of the episode. I especially love the light, fun banter between the hosts, it keeps me engaged without losing interest in the topic of the day!

    Great Design Talk
Solid and personable group of designers talking good design.

    Great Content, Questionable Volume
As a long time listener and huge fan, I can’t recommend this show enough. However I would suggest to the crew to make sure you guys balance your audio in post production — you peak sometimes when you lean close to the mic or a guest will yell ... after I’ve had to turn the volume up because another person isn’t next to their microphone or is soft spoken. Startled and hurts my ears sometimes.
  • Collegematt12
    Used to love this podcast
Not writing this to be negative but hopefully inspire you to regroup. Been listening to you guys for a while but now the podcasts are too random and ranty with a lot of tangents going on from the original tope causing it to lose value almost like too many chefs in the kitchen type of thing, and no one can control the conversation. Hoping it gets better.

Fantastic insider information (and funny too!)
I’ve been listening to this podcast since I started design school and I’ve gained amazing knowledge from the seasoned pros. Not only do they cover design trends, career niches, and their own work, but they also talk about how to run a design business—and help you please clients and avoid pitfalls. This podcast is as valuable as a college class—and more informative!

    My freelance ‘art department’
Thank you so much for taking the time to prepare and produce each episode. I press play on this podcast at the same time I hit ‘start’ on my Freshbooks time tracking. Listening reminds me of my art department days before freelance. But sooo much more helpful!!

Prettttty Prettttty Pretty good. 😂 Very interesting podcast. I listen on my commute. I’m unfortunately a late bloomer to find Deeply Graphic, so I’m listening in backwards sequence. Wish this was around when I was in college, because this is enlightening. Thanks Wes, Nick, and Mikelle (not sure how people get your name wrong)!

A great FREE resource for the design community!
I have learned SO much in the past few months from this series. They cover so many topics that are so RELEVANT. They are also honest. There's no sugar-coating the design world, and that is exactly what students and freelancers want to here. It's what helps us learn. Thank you for having great guest, great topics, and above all, honest conversations!

I love this podcast. The industry insight is illuminating and super entertaining. *UPDATE* thanks for hearing me out. Ps, you should totally do an episode special on musical theatre poster art ;)

    Inspirational
Hi! I don’t know if you all will read this but I am in college and I am an Art Major. I want to become a Logo/Brand Identity Designer but also design graphics for clothes, shoes, album cover, etc. I listened to your first podcast about the clever logos and I really enjoyed it! You all taught me a lot in just that one episode!

    One of the Best
This show is one of my favorites, hands-down. The designers are unfiltered and stay focused throughout the show. Real-world solutions from talking with clients to the tools they use in their own shops... they're willing to share it all. A huge help for those of us still trying to find the right "groove" for our agencies. Love it - always upbeat and engaging.

    Love you guys!
I like to listen to podcasts while I design at work & im so happy I stumbled across yours today! I graduate this semester and your "Advice for Graduating Design Students" podcast was amazing! Eventhough I already have a good job as a designer, it's not my dream job.. and your advice about interviewing and portfolios was super helpful. I'd love if you guys did a podcast about resumes, creative resumes, and portfolio website layout. I've done a little bit of everything when it comes to design. Graphic, web, UX/UI and coding. Whats the best way to organize a portfolio (web and print) if you have such a wide variety of work? I haven't found my niche yet and I feel like I should have all of my work in there just so I can be open to any/all opportunities.

    Not Lame!
As someone considering entering the field, this is reassuring me that designers aren't as corny as they lead you to believe

This has been a very inspirational podcast for me! I have been listening to it on Podbean and now have it on my iTunes. I have told many of my friends about it and hope they will turn the music off once in a while and get educated with this amazing show! Thanks guys and keep up the great work!

    Can't Stop Listening
LOVE! Even though I'm not a freelance designer, still a great podcast to learn more tips and tricks in the design world. The team is entertaining and encouraging. I've been telling all my designer friends to join in!

    Sound check!
Ive been listening to this podcast for a long long time. There are things I enjoy and some things I don't, like most things in life. The good: Friendly banter, good topics, some funny jokes, and overall a nice place to 'hang out', displace some lonely hours while working, and maybe sometimes learn something. The bad: While the podcast HAS improved over the years, the sound leveling is still awful :( my ears! The intro is normally twice as loud, the convos drop to whisper like levels occasionally... and occasionally the hosts to get a little sidetracked, but *shrug* what can you do, sometimes it goes to a funny or good place. Hey guys, thank you very much for this podcast! @Wes, your other podcast was cool too

    Best podcast for graphic design
This is the best podcast for graphic design because : 1.its not an interview show- plenty of those around that recycle the same people 2. it is great for all levels- Im a graphic design senior and it took me a bit to catch up to some of the terminology- dev for developer etc, it helps me learn the lingo. 3. the 3 host are friendly, and have great personalities and seem to truely like each other. I don't love podcast where its just one person talking to you, this way you get different perspective and corroboration for ideas. Although Im not too much into web design, but Nick is there to speak up for the rest of us, and the episodes where he leads are my favorite. 4. Nick is great 5. I love the listener questions and those episodes are fun I only wish they put more info in their show notes, I listen while I drive and they go though things like brands, or services and it would be great if those where in the notes so I wouldn't have to try to take notes while Im driving

Solid advice for the creative industry! My husband and I have been running our own design / web business for 6 years. It's good to hear advice from other designers. Thank you!

    Great and relatable content!
Very helpful and inspiring to hear a community fo designers discuss things effecting them, and from different design backgrounds/concentrations. Thanks for the insight. Especially in small cities and rural areas, it's not easy to link up with other designers. Thanks for offereing a community belonging without having to be in LA, Chicago, or Seattle or wherever.

    The best
As a designer of over 10 years, listening to this podcast is now part of my routine! It's a must listen to for anyone in the web or business world. Love Wes, Mikelle and Nick!

    Love it!
Great show for all creatives. Love that it's so conversational and realistic. It's great to hear what new challenges they're coming across in each episode and how they tackle those. Designers, subscribe and get ready to be inspired!

    Really great show!
So grateful to have found this podcast. Love learning about how each designer runs their business, and I've learned some great tips. Love listening!

    As a graphic designer...
I love this podcast. odd and random as it is, I enjoy listen to other designers who face the same issues and offer their own solutions to certain design problems regarding clients and projects. They also bring up things I haven't even heard of but it's always something new to take in and learn.

    Gimme More
So happy I came across this podcast. I've binge-listened to almost all the available episodes and have benefitted from following through on some of the tips and ideas. Therefore, I figured the time has finally come to give Wes the one and only thing he's asked listeners to do - rate the podcast here on iTunes. I also have a suggestion for a future episode. Wes often refers to how much he likes to come up with design strategies for clients. I'd love to hear Wes', Nick's, and Mikelle's methods for coming up with strategies, best practices they've discovered, why strategies are so important, and what makes a good strategy. Maybe the three of you could even review strategies of large companies. I know I've found it really helpful when you guys bring examples of logos or websites designed for large companies (*cough* Mastercard *cough*) and kind of pick things apart. Ooo! Maybe this could even develop into a 2 or 3 part episode! Fingers crossed.

    Great!
I love listening to them talk design. They're all kind of smart asses, which makes for a really entertaining show. Keep up the great work!

    Fantastico!
If you're in the graphic design business then listening to this podcast is a no brainier. It's enjoyable homework that'll keep you informed.

    Breath of fresh air
I've built a small agency over the last 10 years in a tiny mountain town in Colorado. Living in this very remote and small community, I don't get the chance 'talk design' very often. I discovered The Deep End a few months ago, and it's been life-changing; I've been re-inspired to keep pursuing my passion! LOVE this podcast for TONS of great real world advice on running a freelance op or small agency! Great work, guys!!
